He was talking about the Thirty Six Countries of the Western Regions, of course. They had to make work for them, lest they kill their own all day and night because they were too bored.

It was a possibility he found it near impossible to believe. However, he could not deny the reality staring him in the face.

As for what exactly had happened to them, he didn’t dare to imagine it. He was unwilling to imagine it.

Right now, the only thing he could do was run as far away as possible.
