Stranger Danger-Chapter 1720: Primal Origin Cyan Lotus
Unfortunately, King Taishan was too smart for his own good. He never expected Ye Qing and the others to throw all logic to the wind and kill his original body outright. His one remaining wisp of consciousness had been refined into Ye Qing’s Heavenly Demon Dependent as well.
This was why Ye Qing did not stop King Taishan from absorbing his origin power. On the contrary, he was happy to see this. King Taishan was his Heavenly Demon Dependent, so whatever power the man gained, it all benefited him in the end.
King Taishan handed the cyan lotus to Ye Qing after returning to the duo. Ye Qing accepted it and took a moment to perceive its immense and mysterious power.
At first glance, the power seemed weak and nondescript. In reality, it was unfathomable, boundless, and brimming with the origin power of the world. A single wisp was probably enough to turn everything within dozens of kilometers into a forest that was full of life.
“This is the Primal Origin Cyan Lotus, young master. Ten thousand years ago, King Taishan had planted a seed of the Primal Origin Cyan Lotus in Xi Huang to nurture it with its unique energies of death and desolation. Where yin is thickest, yang may emerge. Where death is strongest, life may be born. That is how King Taishan is able to promote its growth and ultimately grow it into the Primal Origin Cyan Lotus.”
King Taishan explained, “As the seed is raised in a land of absolute death, this particular Primal Origin Cyan Lotus contains even greater power of life and creation compared to the original. Therefore, a single wisp of its power could turn entire deserts into forests; a single drop of its energy could nourish countless lives.”
“Of the Four Evils, the Endless Lord of Plagues commands the power of sickness and death. However, the Primal Origin Cyan Lotus commands the power of endless life. That is why it is the bane of its existence.”
“The Primal Origin Cyan Lotus, huh? A good name!” Ye Qing remarked before putting away the Primal Origin Cyan Lotus. His trip had not been in vain after all. To say he felt pleased would be an understatement.
Feng Qingyou chuckled at Ye Qing’s expression and said, “You can indulge in reverie later. Our time is almost up. Let us leave.”
“Yeah.”
Ye Qing replied and put away King Taishan. Then, he took a few steps forward with Feng Qingyou. They both disappeared.
For an instant, Ye Qing lost his focus. When he recovered, he realized that he was no longer in Xi Huang. Specifically, he was standing at the exact spot where they had entered the place.
“Xi Huang truly is an amazing place.”
Ye Qing could not help but look behind his back with a wistful expression. At the same time, he took one step toward Xi Huang and abruptly disappeared. He reappeared just a moment later.
Feng Qingyou asked curiously, “What are you doing?”
Ye Qing smiled. “Ancestor Black Robe said that anyone who entered Xi Huang would not be able to reenter it until three years later, remember? I wanted to test if his words were true.”
“As expected, Ancestor Black Robe is an honest guy.”
“You have too much time on your hands.”
Feng Qingyou shook her head. “Let’s go.”
Ye Qing shrugged before chasing after her back.
Xi Huang was a magical place, but it was also stupidly boring. Bei Huang was dangerous, but it had all kinds of strange and unusual sceneries. However, there was nothing in Xi Huang.
It would be three years before they could reenter Xi Huang, and there was nothing for them in Xi Huang anyway. So, they left.
When I arrive, the sun is red like fire, and the morning rays welcome my arrival.
When I leave, moonlight fell like snow, and the moon bids me goodbye.
Regardless of the wind or the rain, I will tread slowly and be safe.
......
What was Dong Ji (East End)? It meant the farthest point of the east. Hence the name.
To travel to Dong Ji, one must first cross the Eastern Sea. Then, they would arrive at their destination.
It sounded easy. At the very least, it sounded less troublesome than going to Bei Yuan or Xi Huang. In reality, it was the opposite.
For starters, the sea was bigger and deeper than the land. Humans’ exploration and recognition of the sea did not even amount to one-hundredth of what they had discovered about the land. That was why the sea was always more mysterious and dangerous than the land was.
Out of the four sea regions, the Eastern Sea was neither the biggest nor the most dangerous sea. However, it was the sea that was shrouded in the most mystery.
The people described the four seas like this: The Western Sea was the most dangerous, the Southern Sea was the biggest, the Northern Sea was the most treacherous, and the Eastern Sea was the most profound.
The Western Sea was the most dangerous because it was overflowing with Strangers and Anomalies of all shapes and sizes. Naturally, it was most dangerous.
The Southern Sea was the biggest because it was the biggest sea. To date, no one knew exactly how big the Southern Sea was.
The Northern Sea was the most treacherous, but treacherous here did not refer to humans. It referred to its treacherous environment. Terrible storm, deadly cold, treacherous currents, horrifying whirlpools. These were just the beginning of the natural disasters one might encounter in the Northern Sea. It might not be the most dangerous sea in the world, but it was certainly the most treacherous.
Finally, the Eastern Sea was the most profound. Profound here both meant profound and mysterious.
The reason the Eastern Sea was said to be the most profound sea of the four was because the Eastern Sea had always been overflowing with myths and stories even way back in ancient times. There were a lot of myths, legends and tales that had something to do with the Eastern Sea such as the Eastern King Mother ascending to celestialhood in the Eastern Sea, the Jade Clear Heavenly Sovereign teaching the Dao in the Eastern Sea, Maitreya-nātha suppressing demons in the Eastern Sea, the East End Senior Celestial seeking the Dao in the Eastern Sea and more.
Not only that, many celestial mountains, blessed lands, and profound objects of the Eastern Sea still existed to this day. For example, the East Kunlun where the Sanqing Temple was located was a celestial mountain in the Eastern Sea. The Divine Dragon Island where the Eastern Sea Dragons resided was also located in the Eastern Sea. The Cloud Beyond Celestial Island that appeared only once every ninety-nine years, the Lunar Bay that only appeared every full moon, the Fusang Tree where the Golden Crow resided, the Land of Endless Day where the sun never fell and more were all located in the Eastern Sea.
This was why the Eastern Sea was always shrouded in a fog of mystery, profoundness, and fantasy. It was also the dream place of all jianghu warriors.
As of late, the Eastern Sea had only become more popular and crowded than before. It was because two lands of great opportunities had appeared in the Eastern Sea. One of them was called the City of Kun Whale, and the other was called the Moon Treasure Ship.
The City of Kun Whale referred to a city built atop the back of a Kun Whale. It was called the Heavenly Feather City.
The Kun Whale was said to be three kilometers long, and the city it carried on its back was tall and massive. Rumors claimed that a race called the Feathers lived in the city.
The Feathers were said to be as handsome or beautiful as living celestials, and their average lifespan was about a thousand years. They were also extraordinarily talented and extremely powerful.
Once, a person had stumbled upon the Heavenly Feather City by accident and received not just the Feathers’ warm welcome, but also many valuable treasures. Many of the treasures were rare and precious herbs and artifacts as well. Naturally, they became the envy of all others.
Naturally, many jianghu people desired to enter the Heavenly Feather City either to meet the legendary Feathers or receive their gifts and fortunes after hearing the tale.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t easy to enter the Heavenly Feather City.
For one, the Heavenly Feather City was founded on a Kun Whale’s back. The blood of the ancient Kun Peng ran in a Kun Whale’s veins, so despite being shaped like a whale, a Kun Whale possessed wings on its stomach and so could fly in the sky. In other words, the Heavenly Feather City was mobile. It could either hide itself at the bottom of the sea or fly in the sky. Naturally, locating the Heavenly Feather City was no easy task.
Even if someone was lucky enough to find the Heavenly Feather City, they might not be able to get in.
It was because the Feathers were vain people.
There was one condition anyone who wished to enter the Heavenly Feather City must fulfill: They must be handsome or beautiful. It was because all Feathers looked good. Ugliness was an absolutely intolerable characteristic to them, which was why they rejected everyone whom they considered ugly.
Left with no choice, the ugly people set their sights to the Moon Treasure Ship instead.
