Chapter 27 - The New House
"So, this is where we are going to live?" Silas observed the white painted house with his hands in his pockets, then he turned to the grey double gates, "It doesn't look cheap to me."
"Really? It was six thousand geo for a month." Ice who'd just escorted the middleman of the transaction out spoke as she walked to Silas' side, where Luke and Selena were waiting.
She reached for the wooden door, unlocking it with the key she'd received. The second the door opened, she ushered them inside, "This house should be enough for us to live in."
There were four bedrooms, the dining room and living room, two bathrooms, then the kitchen. The house was properly furnished and looked like it had been taken good care off.
"We don't have any clothing or food." Silas narrowed his eyes, counting the furniture in the room, and observing the living room, "We should get those if we plan to stay here long."
"Okay, Luke and I will see what we can do about that." Ice nodded her head, turning to the side where an empty wall meet her gaze, "We also need some entertainment, don't we?"
|GlorifiedAviator097— Of course!
|I_Have_No_$$— I need to go sleep.
"Let's take things slow and not expose our tracks." Silas sighed, recalling those two he'd met from atop the train when they arrived. They must be waiting for their chance to strike.
Fortunately, nothing had happened from their gathering at the train station till now. He hoped, at least until Ice recovered, that things stayed that way. They needed the cool down.
'Besides, the resistance aren't the only one after this ice orb.' Silas recollected that they got on the heroes association's bad side as well. Persus' buyers must have noticed it as well.
"I am going to take a breather." Silas said. His eyes were burning from the lack of sleep, but his mind wasn't fatigued, 'I haven't gotten a wink of sleep since I arrived in this world.'
Although he was in a superhuman body, Silas understood that he must have a breaking point where he could collapse just as Ice did earlier. He didn't want to put that to the test.
As for their rooms, two of the four on the bottom floor by the left and right of the living room was assigned to Selena and Luke while the two at the top were given to Silas and Ice.
At the back of the living room was the kitchen while the dining room was at the end of a corridor between Ice and Silas' room. Two doors at its left and right led to their bathrooms.
There was a small space at the backyards of the house, but no one decided on their use for it yet. After everyone had settled down, Ice and Luke left to go buy the clothes and food.
Silas sat in his room, staring at the stream interface. In just these few days, he had fifty followers and over two hundred peak views. He sighed, then turned off the ongoing stream.
The source of this c𝐨ntent is freeweɓnovēl.coɱ.
He had some gacha coins and that weird ticket. It'd be fun once he uses those, but he'd need to get some rest for now. Silas wondered if he'd be streaming his sleep if it was active.
"I guess they'd be seeing a blank screen, huh?" He shifted his glance to the wall, patting the bed he'd sat on. After some time, he clicked his tongue, "Maybe they'd see my dreams?"
He recalled that he'd left Selena alone in her room, wondering if she'd take this chance to escape. Silas dropped into his bed, staring into the ceiling, closing his eyes then relaxing.

"Ugh," Light, lots of it, shone in his room. Silas groaned, struggling to part his eyelids. He'd have sworn he turned off the lights before going to bed, unless it is already morning?
He raised his arm and shielded his face, turning his head to the side. After a while, he moved his arm and sat up, turning to the wall, "Should I get a mirror and place it there?"
Then again, he guessed his ruffled face was the last thing he wanted to see every time he woke up. He stood to his feet and walked towards the window, then he pushed it open.
"We bought this place far from the Order City mainland, so I believe we wouldn't get any guests." Silas peered into the empty road with few houses scattered into the distance.
He sighed, then turned away from the window. He across the room to the door before pushing it open, stepping out and locking it behind him. Silas turned to stare at Ice's door.
"Wasn't she back already?" He asked himself as he stepped towards the door, then he knocked twice. There wasn't any answer, so he decided to go downstairs to check for her.
When he got downstairs, he noticed Luke sitting on a couch in the living room. Seeing this put his mind at ease, so he shifted his attention, "Luke, where did Selena run off to?"
"She must be in the backyard. She said she wanted to see the backyard." Luke replied, his gaze fixated on a book in his hands. He seemed to care less for whatever Selena tried.
"Go check on her. Just in case." Silas ordered. He felt unease leaving Selena outside by herself, especially in the situation they were in. Then he asked, "By the way, where's Ice?"
"She should be in her room." Luke answered as he stood to his feet. He held on to the book as he walked to the door, leaving Silas to stare until he locked the door behind him.
Silas turned back to the staircase, and groaned. He'd just come down looking for her, and Luke said she was in her room all along? Silas shook his head and clicked his tongue.
"I'll just the opportunity to take a bath." Silas sighed. The blood from that fight with Henry was still on his body, and his clothes remained unchanged since the train accident.
Silas walked back up the stairs, moving his feet to the bathroom. After his bath, Silas changed into a bathrobe then walked out the bathroom into the corridor, "Is she awake?"
He considered the possibility she was in a deep sleep, but also the possibility she was not in her room anymore. So, he walked in his bathrobe to her door, then knocked twice.
When the doors opened, Silas blinked to see Ice standing half-naked, wearing a dress that barely covered her body, as she raised her brows to observe him, "You can come in."
