STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 175: Testing each other
Training Ground:
Jeremy chose the left side of the ground to face her. May Lindsey stood opposite him. There was quite a gap between the two of them.
Old man Derek looked at the two of them. He thought of something before saying, "You guys, before starting the duel, I'm going to say a few things. First, it's a friendly duel, not a do-or-die one."
"If things get difficult, there is no shame in accepting defeat. You guys can fight next time."
"More importantly, the injuries on the lifeline beast will affect the Beast Tamer as well. So be careful in handling your lifeline beast."
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded his head. He was planning to see it through to the end. He knew he could fight without starlight energy as well.
"I'm ready," May Lindsey uttered.
Swoosh!
Old man Derek retreated in mid-air. Then he looked at both and said, "Fight!"
Swoosh!
Jeremy took out his katana and started sprinting towards her. It all happened within seconds.
Boom!
May Lindsey unconsciously shot out ice spikes from her hands. In the blink of an eye, the ice spikes reached their target.
Cut!
Jeremy swung the sword to cut down the ice spikes. When his blade came in contact with the ice spike, he immediately felt a powerful force behind it.
At the same time, a freezing cold affected him. The ice started to freeze the blade, but the blade managed to divide the ice spike into two.
Boom!
Jeremy struck the other ice spikes one after another. Under his senses and gaze, everything became sharp and slow.
May Lindsey continued to shoot ice spikes at him. Jeremy carefully destroyed those that were close to him.
Boom!
One after another, his katana blade struck the ice spikes, destroying them or changing their trajectory. When the failed ice spikes hit the ground, they immediately froze the grass.
May Lindsey's eyes flashed with surprise. She was just shooting these ice spikes to test him out. The real duel was yet to begin.

Meanwhile,
The students who were watching from a distance started cheering. The duel had just begun, but they were able to witness a stunning battle right away.
"Brother Jeremy is doing alright," Daniel Stone said with a smile.
He found that May Lindsey was not so strong.
"The duel has just begun. Both of them are testing each other," Betsy Lowe said in a solemn tone.
"What?" Daniel was taken aback.
He was getting the feeling that both of them were going all out from the start.
"Betsy is right. They are checking out each other's strength," Instructor Jacob added.
Hearing that, Daniel set his sights on the ongoing duel. He thought Betsy was not wrong. If Instructor Jacob was saying it, then it must be true. So he decided to watch for himself.
On the other hand, Victor Scott's eyes flickered.
"This guy, how does he attack with such precision?" Victor muttered to himself.
He noticed that Jeremy's attacks never missed an ice spike near him. They either got deflected or destroyed.
"No wonder they say he is dangerous at close quarters," Victor thought.
Victor was starting to take Jeremy Night seriously as a Beast Tamer and Strike Department Representative. He knew that if others were hit by the ice spikes, their contact spots would have frozen.
Whereas Jeremy Night was dealing with them casually.
The Department Instructors were serious as well. Earlier, they had come with a predetermined decision.
Upon seeing Jeremy's response to the attacks, they felt like their faces had been slapped.
"As expected, this kid is not easy," Old man Derek said to himself.
He was acting as a referee, standing in mid-air and watching their duel. Seeing Jeremy strike with great precision shocked him. He thought people with sword-type talent didn't have this much precision.
Yet Jeremy Night was able to achieve this with his body-type talent. Old man Derek was astonished. He continued to watch the duel.
Not much was known about the Supreme Combat Body Talent. Many people thought that it only helped with an increase in body strength.
But they didn't consider other aspects such as senses, hearing, eyesight, and combat awareness. Soon, the world would know that the Supreme Combat Body Talent was like a battle machine.
...
Dean's Office:
Dean Carolyn had stopped her other work. She was watching the live streaming of the duel. There were staff in the training ground who were assisting with this work.
Not only were they helping others watch the stream live, but Dean Carolyn had also given permission for families in City A to watch the duel as well.
Earlier, she hadn't had this idea. But Violet Heath made a request; she wanted to watch Jeremy Night's duel. The girl still felt guilty about their bad experience in the Forbidden Area in the wilderness.
Once she granted permission, not long after, a member of the Knox Family arrived as well. Contrary to the Heath Family, the Knox Family had been quiet.
They were watching the developments from the background. She knew the Knox Family couldn't recruit Jeremy Night. Jeremy Night's family was affiliated with the Human Alliance.
Since they were part of the Central University 14, she allowed them to watch the duel as well. It didn't take long for the Lindsey and Scott Families to make their requests.
The two S-Grader families viewed Jeremy Night as a threat, but they could do nothing about him. Jeremy Night's contribution during the Beast Invasion was unquestionable. The Commanders had seen it as well.
So she allowed them to watch the duel, warning them not to harbor any other ideas. Any personal attacks against the Beast Tamers were forbidden by the Human Alliance.
Especially if they were geniuses, the Human Alliance wouldn't let the culprits go.
She then shifted her attention back to the duel. Seeing that both of them were testing each other, she relaxed. She had feared that the duel would be one-sided.
Now that both of them were strong, she felt glad inside, as they represented their department.
