STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 223: Part 2: City police team’s reactions
Jeremy Night looked at the Police Captain. He had decided to hide some things.
He said, "I was just coming back from the wilderness trip. I was about to look for an aircab when I saw someone staring at me."
"In front of my eyes, he started firing shots. Fortunately, the city guards arrived on time to rescue me. But the culprit had already escaped by then," he added.
Captain Nathan and his team members noted down everything. They believed this student's words.
The thick-browed, middle-aged man was worried. They belonged to the City Administration. The City Governors are the ones who govern the city.
Since the kid comes from a Governor family, he thinks this matter needs much more attention.
He turned towards Captain Nathan.
"Captain, this kid's father is the City Governor of City C. His name is Ron Night," he said.
"What?"
"Son of the City Governor," Nathan blurted out.
Their City Police also work for the City Administration. Everyone belongs to one big family known as the Human Alliance.
Nathan furrowed his eyebrows. He couldn't afford to be careless with this case.
"Kid, don't worry. There might be some people who want to create chaos by targeting the City Governor's family."
"We will find out the culprit soon," Nathan said in a solemn tone.
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to him. But in his heart, he knew it was an impossible thing. If they learned the culprit was from Goldcorp, they might forget about the case.

Just as everyone was discussing, someone else made an appearance. The person was none other than Jacob Henry.
"Jeremy," he called out.
Hearing that, everyone turned towards him.
Jeremy nodded to him before saying, "He is my First Year Department Instructor."
"Hello, I'm Jacob. I heard about the attack, so I came here to help," Jacob said.
"Hi, I'm Captain Nathan. I have collected details from the kid. We will be starting the investigation soon."
"If we learn anything, we will inform the university," Nathan said.
"Okay," Jacob replied with a serious expression.
Captain Nathan nodded to him and the City Guard Captain before leaving with his team members.
When they were gone, Jacob immediately turned towards Jeremy and asked, "What's going on?"
"You guys discuss it. I'm stepping out," the City Guard Captain said before leaving the room.
"Instructor, this is what happened....," Jeremy then told him the same thing.
A few minutes later,
Jacob Henry showed a complex look. He didn't know how to solve this problem. Someone had targeted Jeremy Night.
He thought there was a big conspiracy behind it.
"Jeremy, let's go back," Jacob said.
He had many things on his mind, but they couldn't be discussed here.
Jeremy sighed inwardly before following him outside. When they exited the building, Jeremy thanked the City Guard Captain and others for their help.
Then he left with Instructor Jacob.
About 15 minutes later,
They returned to Central University. Jacob immediately took Jeremy to Elder Derek's office. Soon, they arrived.
Creak!
After opening the door, they walked inside. Old man Derek was sitting behind the desk. He was already waiting for them.
His gaze fell on Jeremy Night. Seeing that the kid was alright, he sighed in relief.
Jeremy sat opposite him. Instructor Jacob sat beside him.
"Kid, what happened?" Derek asked.
Jeremy felt helpless inside. He had to repeat the same thing again and again, but he had no choice.
So he started telling the same story.
A few minutes later,
"Do you think they belong to the groups you encountered during the mission?" Derek asked.
"I don't know. It really happened fast," Jeremy uttered in a sad tone.
Sigh!
A sigh escaped old man Derek's mouth. He didn't want to pressure that kid. This matter had to be dealt with by the grown-ups.
"Jacob, you can take him back. We will coordinate with the City Police to see what's going on," Derek said.
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to him.
About 10 minutes later,
Jeremy returned to the dorm room after Instructor Jacob parted ways. The issue was so big that no one noticed he had reached Rank 7.
Shaking his head, he entered the bath.
Meanwhile,
Derek Gibson informed Dean Carolyn about the discussion.
After learning that Captain Nathan of the City Police was going to investigate, Dean Carolyn decided to contact the person directly. She didn't think Jeremy knew about the attacker.
It could be anyone from the powerful organization to the big families, so she thought it was better to get updates from the City Police.
...
Security Firm:
Old man Javier learned about the failure from his men. He was pissed off. His heart boiled with anger. He couldn't believe his men had failed to complete a single mission.
What was worse, his misfiring had been seen by the City Guards as well. Old man Javier worried that the matter could involve the City Police.
If they interfered, then he could only stay low-key.
"What a lucky kid," Javier snorted.
He knew that kid, Jeremy Night, was the son of City Governor Ron. If the attack on that kid was revealed, it would attract more attention.
"Looks like it's not the right time to target the kid," Javier muttered to himself.
...
The following day:
Captain Nathan registered the complaint filed by Dean Carolyn of Central University. He had received a call from the Dean yesterday.
She wanted the culprit to be caught as soon as possible. Even Captain Nathan was surprised by her support.
He thought the victim was receiving importance because of his identity. Then he realized the victim was a genius beast tamer as well. He had performed well during the Beast Invasion, killing a lot more corrupted beasts.
Such information made him more serious. The identity of Central University's genius beast tamer and the City Governor's son was enough for them to give importance to the case.
Captain Nathan then selected a team before sending them out for the investigation. Now, he was worried about the response from City Governor Ron. He thought that kid had yet to inform his parents.
Otherwise, he would have received two complaints.
....
Central University 14:
Jeremy Night walked out of the dormitory and started walking towards the Department Building. Soon, he reached there.
Just as he was about to enter the elevator, he noticed that other department students were avoiding his gaze.
Jeremy raised his eyebrows in confusion. He thought it must be some other issue. He then entered the elevator and pressed the button for the top floor.
Shortly afterward,
He reached the top floor. After stepping out, he went to the classroom. Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe were inside the class.
"Brother Jeremy ...," Daniel Stone raised his hand.
"You were gone for almost 3 days. Don't tell me you spent the entire 3 days in the wilderness," Betsy Lowe asked.
"You guys are doing fine as well," Jeremy said before sitting in the chair.
Then he said, "I had just been wandering around the outer area. After killing a corrupted beast, I went to the city to sell it. Then I went back to the wilderness. So the continuous back and forth took me a few days."
"That's how it is," Daniel realized.
"It's good that you are back. The senior students are pressuring the first years not to interact with us," Betsy Lowe said.
"Yes, brother. I almost forgot about it. I don't know what's going on, but they are clearly targeting our STRIKER Department."
"We should do something," Daniel said in a serious tone.
Hearing that, I sighed inwardly. From their words, I could gather more information. If I told them about Romeo Barrett's kidnapping incident, they would be shocked to the core.
What's more, the University didn't even punish the senior students? It's truly frustrating. He then thought of something.
He asked, "Did they target you guys?"
"No, a few of them warned us. Especially May Lindsey from the Lindsey Family. She told us to be careful," Betsy said.
Jeremy's eyes flickered. He thought that Attack Department students were involved. It appeared the senior students from the other departments were involved as well.
"Okay, be careful. If anything happens, just inform Instructor Jacob. If they cross the line, the dean won't be silent," Jeremy said.
Then he spent a few minutes discussing it before leaving. He had decided to go to the store to sell the remains of the Tier-4 Black Centipede.
He didn't inform Instructor Jacob. He thought that he wouldn't allow him to leave.
Soon, he walked out of the University and came to the street. He then booked a flying taxi.
Shortly afterward,
The flying taxi arrived. He entered the car and told the driver to reach the Beast Taming Store.
Swoosh!
The flying taxi rose from the ground and started to move towards the destination. From the window, Jeremy was viewing the passing scenery.
He recalled yesterday's gunshot. His eyes flickered. He didn't know whether anyone was following him today, so he decided to be vigilant.
It didn't take long for the flying car to reach the store. When the car landed on the ground, he stepped out and paid the fare.
Jeremy then turned around and walked into the store.
