STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 746: Part 1: Crucial Task
Jeremy Night met with Head Neil Moon and Team Leader Gisela. He discussed matters with them before leaving the Red Moon Chamber.
A one-week break ended quickly. He reached the airport after the meeting and didn’t have to wait long.
Soon, he boarded the fortified flight back to the 5th Zone. He didn’t face any problems, but Jeremy was certain: once he stepped into the 5th Zone, problems would find him.
He didn’t know the reason behind the Darkshade members’ attack.
Their team had been wiped out, and he was sure the organization would send another team to take his life.
That Tier-6 Beast Tamer had met a tragic end due to a confrontation with a Tier-6 Lizard. Jeremy had taken care of the others and disposed of their bodies in the dark swamp.
No one would find anything. With that thought, he put his heart at ease.
A few days later,
The flight reached the 5th Zone. Jeremy once again felt the rich natural energy of the environment.
Buzz!
Suddenly, the unknown beast egg stirred. It started absorbing the natural energy. Fortunately, the movement was not significant; otherwise, it would have alerted the other passengers.
One hour later,
He left the airport and returned to the organization by car. After reaching the building, he paid the fare to the driver and headed toward the main door.
Creak!
He opened the door and stepped inside. He passed several members who were going about their business. He looked toward the staff office.
His arrival drew attention, and he nodded to them. Just as he was about to head toward his room, he felt a lingering gaze on him.
He suddenly turned around and saw a second-level member, a Tier-4 middle-aged man.
Jeremy was seeing this person for the first time, yet the man did not look away. Jeremy collected his thoughts and continued to his room.
Meanwhile,
The middle-aged man walked out of the building silently. He went to the garden behind the building and shared secret information with someone.
Jeremy Night was right. The Darkshade Organization had found out about their team’s massacre. They were able to find the corpse of the Tier-6 Beast Tamer, along with his lifeline beast and the Tier-6 Lizard.
They also spotted the poisonous land. Knowing the target was alive, they guessed the appearance of the Tier-6 Lizard had spoiled their plan and caused their team to be wiped out instead.
They didn’t find the bodies of the other team members and blamed the Tier-6 Lizard for their disappearance.
The fight between the two Tier-6 beasts had already overturned a couple of acres of land. It was normal for Tier-5 Beast Tamers to meet with accidents in such a scenario. Even the City Governors were alarmed.
Though Tier-6 beasts were beneath them, the fighting between the two creatures had harmed the wilderness and led to casualties and injuries.
Before the City Governors could take action, the Darkshade Organization had retrieved the corpse of the Tier-6 Beast Tamer and his lifeline beast.
Now, they were all waiting for the target to come out. . The Darkshade Organization didn’t even inform their client about their failure.
They were the number one killer organization in the 5th Zone. Their branches spread across the cities and human settlements.
They even dared to build their hideout in an unexplored region, which showed their strength. However, they had limitations; they couldn’t operate openly in the city.
Such actions wouldn’t be tolerated by the Human Alliance. The Alliance might turn a blind eye to some things, but they wouldn’t allow a killer organization to grow if it posed a significant threat.
Right now, their hideout in the wilderness received a message from their informer. Knowing that the target had returned, they shared the news with their higher-ups.
The higher-ups didn’t say much, except to complete the task as soon as possible. They didn’t want their reputation to be ruined.
However, they could only take action in the wilderness. A similar team was tasked with killing Jeremy Night.
A Tier-6 Beast Tamer leader and a group of Tier-5 Beast Tamers were deemed enough for the task.
This time, the mission was taken by a Tier-6 Beast Tamer called Jeffery. Jeffery was a cold-blooded killer who had killed many Beast Tamers before joining the organization.
Now that he had such a simple task, he couldn’t wait to complete it. He ordered his team members to spread out and monitor the target’s movements.
....
Room,
Jeremy was jet-lagged. He spent the rest of the day sleeping. His arrival was known to Head Harold.
Head Harold was someone who had daily calls with Head Neil Moon. They were the leaders of the organization.
During their discussion, Jeremy Night’s name came up. Knowing that Jeremy spent most of his time training and his remaining time with his parents, Head Harold was shocked.
He knew the kid was the same way here, locking himself away for days in isolated training.
"Sigh!"
A sigh escaped his lips.
During the discussion, Head Neil Moon pitched the idea of sending Jeremy Night to the top three zones.
The business of the Red Moon Chamber had grown this year, and they had become one of the newly famous Beast Taming forces.
Both of them felt Jeremy Night’s progress was fast.
They had talented S-Graders in the organization, but none of their records matched Jeremy’s. However, Harold felt it was too early for Jeremy to go to the top three zones.
Tier-3 Beast Tamers were considered weak even in the 5th Zone; it was only Jeremy’s talent for fighting across Tiers that made him stand out.
It still wasn’t safe. Harold believed that Jeremy Night should become a Tier-4 Beast Tamer with a fighting ability well above his level before he could survive in the top three zones.
Head Neil Moon eventually agreed. He was enthusiastic, but he still prioritized Jeremy Night’s safety.
After the discussion, Head Harold decided to give an important task to Jeremy Night. They were primarily operating in City A, but they were developing channels in other cities as well.
He had received a message that an important item had been discovered in the wilderness of City B in the 5th Zone.
The item was said to be an old relic. He needed Jeremy Night to get it back. If other members went for the mission, it would draw too much attention.
