STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 758: Fist fighting
Library
"The weapon techniques created by Beast Tamers with weapon talent are unique. No other person can use the weapon technique fully unless they have matching talent."
"But even without weapon talent, if you have a good understanding, you can use the power of the weapon technique. However, it won’t be one hundred percent," the middle-aged man said.
Hearing that, Jeremy understood.
The mysterious power came from the "Blade One: Move." His understanding was good to begin with, so he was able to use that power. Now that his doubts were cleared, he looked at them.
"Thanks for explaining that. But who are you guys?"
"If you don’t tell me, then I’ll request help from my organization," Jeremy said to them, while looking into their eyes.
The three middle-aged men weren’t surprised. They had come here to collect information, and they had done their work.
The three of them exchanged looks before getting up. Then they left the library.
The female staff member was worried that a confrontation might happen. When they were gone from the place, she sighed in relief. She then turned towards the Tier-3 Beast Tamer.
She was sure that they had come here to trouble him, yet the person remained focused on reading his books.
On the other hand, Jeremy knew that the people had left. Since he had this opportunity, he was not going to waste time. He was going to study more books to enrich his knowledge.
Meanwhile,
The three middle-aged men informed their higher-ups that the target was at the library. They couldn’t attack him there.
The wilderness was the best place, but they didn’t know whether the target was allowed to go there yet.
They left the place then. The people they were working for were none other than the Darkshade Organization. The organization had been looking for Jeremy Night.
They didn’t expect him to be studying in the library. They had failed in their last task; it was not going to happen this time. They were waiting for the target to enter the wilderness again.
Time passed,
Jeremy went through one book after another. His understanding was good to begin with, and his A-Grade Talent granted him excellent comprehension as well.
He quickly digested the information on sword techniques. He had gone through the seniors’ notes thoroughly.
Since everyone’s talent was different, they forged their own paths.
He understood that if he learned body-related techniques, like fist techniques or boxing, he could make more progress than with sword techniques because his talent related to physique combat.
He felt he was diverting from his path. He had come this far because of the starlight power; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to kill those beasts.
Jeremy analyzed many things. He used a katana blade because he liked it; he didn’t want to part ways with it to enter into pure fist attacks.
Though he hadn’t awakened a sword-related talent, he had entered the intermediate stage in sword skills. He doubted many others would have such records.
After gaining some clarity in his thoughts, he decided to be open-minded.
He picked up a few books on boxing and fist techniques. All of these books were basics, and he was going to read them for the first time.
As time passed, he went through the books and learned about structured fighting with rules. He forgot about the time as he read about offensive moves such as the jab, cross, hook, uppercut, and body shot.
He then read about defensive moves such as the guard, slip, duck, and evade. Jeremy quickly lost interest in boxing moves; he felt they were restricted and limited.
He then shifted to fist techniques. He read about the basics. It was a way of using fists to strike where there were no rules; he could use his fists however he wanted.
Many seniors had their own fighting styles, which were good for unpredictable moves. Jeremy felt unpredictable fighting was suitable for him.
He believed combat techniques were needed to kill the enemy.
He was going for the kill, so he thought unpredictable fighting suited him most. Then he picked up more books about fist techniques and the Beast Tamers who were known for their fist moves.
Time passed,
That evening, the female staff member saw that the Tier-3 Beast Tamer was still reading. He didn’t seem to want to leave.
While many others had gone and a few others had visited the library, she was set to close the shop in two hours.
2 hours later,
Jeremy ended his reading. He placed the books back on the racks before heading toward the exit.
He thanked the female staff member for her patience before going outside. He then came to the main street and approached a car.
Shortly afterward, the cab departed and moved toward the organization. The cab reached the destination 10 minutes later.
He paid the fare before going inside the building. He saw that the number of members had reduced; they had likely gone to the wilderness.
He didn’t know the current status of the beast tide. He collected his thoughts and went to the office. He quickly arrived in front of Head Harold’s office.
He asked for permission to enter and then received a message on his device. After reading it, he opened the door and walked inside.
He saw Head Harold seated behind the desk, not surprised by his visit, as if he were already aware of Jeremy’s whereabouts.
"Sir," Jeremy said.
Harold nodded to him before Jeremy sat in the chair.
"What did you learn in the library?" Harold asked with a smile.
Jeremy was stunned. He was sure the organization had eyes on him as well. He collected his thoughts and said, "Head, three unknown people paid a visit to me."
Harold raised his eyebrows. Stephen had already informed him about the matter, but he didn’t know about the conversation that occurred inside.
"I couldn’t discern their affiliation, but they were there to collect information on me. All three of them were Tier-4 Beast Tamers. One of them uses a short sword," Jeremy said.
Harold’s eyes turned serious. He picked up his device and summoned Stephen to his room. Jeremy was surprised; he suspected Head Harold knew something about it.
