STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 771: Slaying the hyenas
5th Zone, Wilderness
Time passed.
Jeremy found a few more corpses. He placed them inside the coffin boxes and put them inside the storage ring.
One hour later, the early morning sunlight appeared. As the bright light emerged, he could see the place more clearly.
Jeremy saw broken bodies everywhere. The daylight added a more gruesome feeling to the scene.
Fortunately, he found the corpses along with their belongings, so it would be easy to identify them. Without his eye power, it might have taken another day to complete the search.
He then quickly searched the place one more time. This time, it didn’t take more than ten minutes. He left the spot and started walking forward.
The battle had been fought across a few acres of land; the site was widespread. Then, he found the corpse of another member, but it was not intact.
Only the upper body remained with the shirt. There were no belongings nearby. He searched around the area but didn’t find anything else.
He stored the upper body in a coffin box and put it away inside the storage ring. Then, he continued the search.
Roar!
He heard the roaring voice again.
Jeremy paused his footsteps. He turned around and started observing the surroundings. He saw more than ten hyenas appear in his sight.
The beasts were over three meters tall. The tallest one was close to four meters. They were Tier-5 beasts.
There were three Tier-5 beasts and seven Tier-4 beasts. It was the group that had appeared last night, but he hadn’t seen the Tier-5 beasts then.
Now, they have appeared. The eyes of the hyena beasts were blood-red in color. They were clearly looking at him.
"It’s trouble," Jeremy uttered.
He gripped the katana blade again. He had thought the blood of the corpses would be enough for the hyenas to ignore him, yet the blood of a living person was more alluring to them.
Roar!
The Tier-4 hyenas charged forward while the three Tier-5 beasts stayed behind.
Jeremy’s eyes turned icy cold. He started circulating a starlight thread inside his body. In a flash, a starlight thread emerged from his palm and covered the katana’s edge.
The massive, three-meter beasts appeared in his vicinity. They were well-coordinated, giving him no gap to escape.
Swoosh!
One of the beasts leaped at him. Its razor-sharp mouth was clearly visible. The other beasts did the same, opening their mouths wide to attack.
Cut!
Jeremy used his X-ray vision. He saw the blood vessels of the beasts.
At the same time, his senses kicked in. He perceived so much information that the movements outside appeared slow in his eyes. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Swoosh!
He moved in a flash. The blade in his hand danced. The blade cleaved through the side of the first beast.
Puchak!
A deep red line appeared on the side of the beast’s body. Blood spurted from the wound.
He didn’t have time to look at the aftermath; he targeted the second beast. He thrust the blade into the beast’s body.
Stab!
The starlight-filled blade met no resistance. It penetrated deep, puncturing the organs. Blood gushed forth from the internal organs.
Stab! Stab!
Jeremy withdrew the blade and made continuous stabs at the other beasts. In the blink of an eye, he went past three more.
Their bodies were punctured. His gaze then fell on the last two beasts. They were not coming toward him.
Roar!
The three Tier-5 beasts behind them roared. Hearing the order, the two remaining beasts charged toward him.
Jeremy remained casual. His eyes were fixed on the beasts’ bodies; he had already found their weak spots.
Slash!
Before the beasts could reach him, he slashed. The blade moved in a wide arc before cutting through the blood vessels in the necks of the beasts.
Pfff!
The starlight blade went halfway through the neck, severing the vessels. The hyena beast roared before collapsing onto the ground.
Slash!
Jeremy then made a reverse slash at the second beast. The blade cut through its side, revealing the inner organs.
He withdrew the blade and started charging toward the Tier-5 beasts. The starlight thread had not diminished; the power was still there.
Roar!
The three Tier-5 hyenas engaged. Their pack members were dead or injured, and they were the only ones standing.
They were intellectual beasts. They clearly felt something was wrong, so they attacked at the same time, moving fast from their spots.
Jeremy used his X-ray vision again.
The movements of these beasts appeared somewhat faster, but he could still catch the details.
Swoosh!
When the first beast attacked, he sidestepped to evade. At the same time, the blade in his hand danced.
Slice!
It moved in a wide arc, cutting through the side of the body. The starlight blade felt no resistance; it easily swept through the flesh.
Roar!
The beast roared. Jeremy withdrew the blade and avoided the attacks from the second and third beasts.
He used the timing to make a precise strike. The blade struck the blood vessels accurately. The beasts became paralyzed on the ground.
He then made a few more slashes to end their lives. He had killed the Tier-5 beasts within a few minutes.
He didn’t relax. He used his eye power to observe the surroundings. He didn’t want another beast group to launch a sneak attack. Fortunately, the perimeter was safe. There were no other beasts in the vicinity.
Jeremy sighed in relief. He wanted to find the remains of more members. After coming here, he had forgotten about the Darkshade People.
The current mission felt important to him, especially after seeing the hyenas earlier.
He wanted to complete the mission as soon as possible.
If he delayed further, the remains would not be left here; they would become food for other beasts. He didn’t want that to happen. He then resumed his search.
Seeing the scale of the killing, he began to feel regret. He should have participated in the battle; he could have saved a few more lives.
