STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 778: Tense frontline
5th Zone, Wilderness
Everyone returned to their rooms to get ready. Head Harold told everyone to get to the frontline.
Nobody was sure that beasts from the unexplored area could reach their city. They had to be ready for every situation.
Jeremy was in his room. He picked only the basic armor. He then checked the necessary items inside the storage ring.
After making sure everything was ready, he left the room. He immediately went to the lobby. He saw that everyone was leaving with their team members.
Jeremy didn’t wait for the team. He left the place. He came outside and approached the cab driver. But the cab driver preferred the teams first.
Knowing that Jeremy had left the place, he was going to take a cab outside.
A few minutes later,
Jeremy was traveling in a car to the main gate. The driver looked worried. Obviously, he had heard the news from the previous customers.
"Guest, are you sure that a beast invasion will occur?" the driver asked.
Hearing that, Jeremy Night was surprised. He didn’t expect the driver to know this. He then connected the dots. He understood that the previous customers must have been Beast Tamers.
"Don’t worry, it’s just a precautionary measure," Jeremy added.
The driver calmed his heart and focused on the driving. Jeremy then shifted his attention outside.
He saw the scene through the window. Many flying vehicles were flying past him.
Seeing this, Jeremy Night frowned. He was not sure whether a beast invasion would occur. If it did, then it was going to be a bloody battle.
10 minutes later,
The driver dropped him off in front of the main gate. There were already many cars there. It was a traffic jam.
Jeremy paid the fare to the driver before stepping outside. He saw many Beast Tamers. There were many more starting to arrive.
His gaze swept across the place. He saw that Beast Tamers were going outside one by one. He then joined the queue.
It didn’t take long for his turn to come. He then showed his ID. The guard saw the badge before allowing him to enter the wilderness.
Jeremy then put away the badge inside the storage ring. Then he stepped into the wilderness.
The wilderness air brushed past his face. He looked ahead and saw a sea of Beast Tamers standing at the front.
The Tier-3 and Tier-4 Beast Tamers were standing in the first couple of rows, followed by the Tier-5 Beast Tamers.
His gaze covered the place, and he understood that Beast Tamers had surrounded the city wall.
"Why are you standing there?"
"Come with me!"
A veteran Beast Tamer called him out. Hearing that, Jeremy turned toward him. He saw an old man.
He nodded to him. Then the old man pointed towards the east. Jeremy followed his gaze and saw that Beast Tamers were gathering on the front line.
Swoosh!
Seeing that, he darted out towards the place. When he got closer, he found out that Tier-6 Beast Tamers were giving commands.
Jeremy was spotted by someone. He was given an order to stand at the frontline. He felt it was something new for him.
He had faced more than one Beast Invasion before. This one could be called the fourth. In the previous battles, he had fought alone.
He had never followed the orders of anyone. With confusion, he looked around. He found out that Beast Tamers dressed in different family uniforms were here.
He found out that Beast Tamers from Central University 5 were here as well. He then collected his thoughts.
He found a spot and stood there. There were Beast Tamers next to him. They had come here with their teams.
They knew each other. He was the only one alone. None of them had brought their Lifeline Beast outside. Everyone was waiting for the corrupted beasts to appear.
Still, they didn’t know the exact truth. Since the Governors had said so, the news must be true.
"Elder Jersey is here. He is going to be our supervisor."
"Elder Jersey is a 4th-year instructor from Central University 5."
"With his presence here, we will be safe."
The Beast Tamers around him started talking.
Hearing that, Jeremy raised his eyebrows in surprise. He then turned around and saw that an old man with white hair and a beard was talking to others.
His physique was well-built. Jeremy saw that the old man was a Tier-6 Beast Tamer. He was not impressed. He had been under a Tier-7 Beast Tamer before. Her name was Gisela Reyes.
He wondered what she was doing back in the 10th Zone, Jeremy sighed and recovered his thoughts.
He then looked ahead. There was a dry plain stretching across endlessly. There were no green patches on the ground. The ground was covered with dry leaves and twigs.
Jeremy could imagine that the place was going to be overturned soon. The land was going to be filled with corpses and blood.
He had seen the site of a Beast Tide before. That place was nothing less than a place of horror. It had been hard for him to find those remains.
Just as his thoughts were feeling heavy, he felt someone coming from behind. He turned around and saw the person. He was taken aback.
The person was none other than Catherine Rosewood.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"What a surprise!" 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
"I didn’t expect we would be assigned to the same unit," Catherine said with a smile.
Jeremy felt a headache. The last thing he wanted was another family to target him. He was already facing danger because of the Hill Family.
He collected his thoughts and said, "It’s good to see you again."
Catherine was happy to hear that.
"Good, let’s take care of each other," Catherine said with a smile.
"Young miss, we are here!"
The next second, he heard something. He saw that Beast Tamers from the Rosewood Family were there.
A quick glint appeared in his eyes. They were not in the same unit; Catherine had seen him earlier, so she had come here to see him.
Catherine was caught. She smiled and said, "My team members are calling me. I’m leaving."
She fled from the place. Jeremy shook his head. He knew if this was witnessed by her followers, then he would receive death threats soon.
