Chapter 901: Suicidal?

Sanya’s expression darkened when she heard the voice, Velerie and Meredith furrowed their brows while Isolde, her brother and several others’ eyes lit up.

Since this person, whoever they were, dared to speak up in front of Sanya, it meant they weren’t afraid of her. This meant she wouldn’t be able to force Isolde now?

Everyone’s gaze flicked to the entrance of the hall, but before they could see how it was, they saw Rima, who had been calm all this while, tremble from head to toe and then...

Swoosh!

She dashed towards the entrance, the rims of her eyes reddening and crystalline tears welling up on her eyelids. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Velerie narrowed her eyes in confusion and the Grand Elder was about to stop her, thinking she was trying to flee, but Sanya’s eyes flashed and she raised her hand, stopping him.

Right then, a figure appeared at the entrance of the hall and Rima threw herself at it.

Thud!

Their bodies collided, creating a muffled thudding sound.

Rima wrapped her arms and legs around the figure, who was none other than Max, like a koala, tears streaming down her eyes unceasingly.

Max wrapped his arms around her, feeling bittersweet in his heart.

"I’m sorry, my love, for worrying you." He gently apologized while caressing her back soothingly.

"I missed you." Rima sobbed on his shoulder.

Max’s heart clenched when he heard this.

"I missed you too." He said after a moment, hugging her more tightly.

Right then...

"Stop this unseemly play. This is the sacred Disciplinary Hall, not your house."

A discordant voice sounded, interrupting their emotional reunion.

Max’s eyes glinted coldly and he looked at the person who had spoken, a green-haired man.

[You’ll die for this.] He sent him a transmission.

The green-haired man, Isolde’s elder brother, stiffened when he saw Max’s murderous gaze lock onto him. He felt as if some extremely ferocious beast had sat his sights on him, sending chills down his spine.

Then he heard the transmission and his heart fell. But a moment later, when he gathered himself, his expression twisted in rage.

He was the son of a powerful Monarch, someone who wielded vast authority within the Beast Emperor Hall and outside of it too.

People should fear and respect him, but someone was threatening to kill him here? How humiliating was this?

He really wanted to growl ’If you have guts, repeat what you said.’ but after a moment, he suppressed his fury. Things were already complicated thanks to Isolde, if he also got involved and things became troublesome, his father was sure to punish him.

However, this didn’t mean he was going to let Max off.

’Just you wait. I’ll have you killed for this impudence.’ He thought, a sinister glint flashing in his eyes.

Max ignored him after sending him the transmission and gently caressed Rima’s back a few times more before he let her down on her feet, "We’ll talk after we are done here."

"Mm." Rima obediently nodded.

Holding her hand, he entered the hall and stopped a few feet away from Isolde. He then swept his gaze across the hall.

He could see most of the people inside the hall were displeased by his sudden and disrespectful entrance. The only reason they hadn’t said anything about it was because Sanya and the Disciplinary Hall Master, Velerie, had kept quiet, silently appraising him.

"Greetings, Hall Master and Elders. I’m Max Garfield, a new Inner Hall Disciple." Max greeted them, then he glanced at Rima beside him and said, "I’m also her man."

Velerie glanced at Sanya and seeing she was only watching him with interest, she nodded, "Mm. Since you are her man, it’s only appropriate you would come here. But make sure to ask for permission before entering the hall next time."

"I’ll do that. Thanks for not punishing me for it." Max nodded politely. Just from this, he could tell this Disciplinary Hall Master wasn’t against him and Rima.

Velerie nodded, "Now, tell us what you meant by what you said earlier."

"I meant exactly what you think." said Max before glancing at Isolde, "I think the battle to death my fellow disciple has proposed to resolve the enmity between her and my Rima is the most effective way. Therefore..."

While speaking, he took out his identity badge, dropped a drop of blood on it before taking Rima’s badge hanging from her waist and having her drip a drop of her on it, he pressed them together.

Weng~

A blood radiance erupted from the badges and covered them.

Everyone present in the hall was familiar with most of the Beast Emperor Hall’s rules. So, they understood Max was creating a bond with Rima based on which he would be eligible to fight for in his stead.

Of course, not anyone could create this bond with one another. The first and foremost requirement was for both parties to be in the same realm and the same hall.

Fortunately... Max had successfully broken through an hour earlier and was in the same realm as Rima—the Five Star Realm.

’Is he suicidal?’ Several people in the hall this thought.

A few moments later, the blood radiance disappeared and the bond was successfully created.

As everyone watched on, Max gave Rima her badge, dropped another drop of blood on his badge and raised it in the air before looking Isolde dead in the eyes and slowly but clearly enunciating each word,

"I, Maxwell Garfield, an Inner Disciple of the Beast Emperor Hall accept Inner Disciple, Silver Ranker Isolde Grimheart’s invitation for a battle of Life and Death on Inner Disciple, Silver Ranker Rima Garfield’s behalf."

Isolde had an indifferent expression on her face all this while, but when he finished speaking, her expression finally changed—her lips curled up in a disdainful sneer and mocking glint flashed in her eyes.

"When do you want to fight?" She casually asked. "I can give you a few days to stabilize your cultivation if you want."

Max’s lips curled up. He understood she wasn’t taking him seriously at all, but it also made sense. In her eyes, he was a newly ascended Five Star Mage.

Even if he was a genius, was he comparable to her? Even if he was, she was a Five Star Mage, a whole two minor realms higher than him. She could easily trounce him. This was why she didn’t mind giving him some time to stabilize his cultivation and get used to his new strength so she could convince him of his inferiority before she killed him.

"There is no need." He shook his head before calmly saying, "But if you need some time to say your goodbyes, I can wait."

Isolde’s expression darkened.
