Struggling as a Villain-Chapter 297 296- The final push(2)
Zulcriz was stunned.
The army of the undead.
Souls that refused to move on, chained to their unyielding desires even in death, now cursed to linger.
They are the forsaken—those who defied both life and death, trapped in the void between Light and Darkness, neither truly dead nor truly alive.
Their bodies, mere husks, move without breath, driven by hunger, vengeance, or an obsession that time could never erase. Their hollow eyes hold no warmth, only the remnants of a will too strong to die.
They are the betrayed and the betrayers—denied peace, yet unworthy of existence. Wherever they march, the air turns heavy, the ground weeps, and even the gods dare not look upon them.
The hell rained down, and the army of the undead was unleashed by Aetheris.
The massive factor that could put the Dark Side in trouble is that Zulcriz cannot claim the lives of the undead because they are already dead.
Although the undead are mindless creatures and aren't that strong—most of them—the number in which they have appeared is purely overwhelming.
Within a minute over a thousand undead had dropped onto Clion and started hunting whatever came in their path
Apostles, Ambrobates, all alike.
Everyone was fighting for their lives, and those who tried to run away were pulled back to the battlefield since the undead never stopped pouring down, and there was no limit to the summoning point.
"Don't go near the Capital!" Eleanor commanded in a loud voice. Seeing how the undead were getting summoned wherever they went, Eleanor told them to keep the battle within the battlefield.
Richard has already started the onslaught without holding back. Launching large area spells continuously to keep his army safe, since seeing how even the Apostles were having a hard time defending themselves, he didn't want his army to get consumed.
"Bella! Protect both sides!" That command was directed towards both Bella, and they didn't hesitate even for a moment before summoning a flame wall that protected the remaining army.
As they did so the two ladies started chanting large spells as well, summoning flame dragons and phoenix to swallow the undead.
"They are panicking a lot, Eli," Nora told the blond Princess, as she saw the situation of the army.
Elizabeth nodded before she chanted a mind-calming spell and launched it into the air.
A greenish hue showered over the Dark forces before their muttering slowly came to a halt.

Finding the opportunity, Lilia commanded, "Our goal is to remain safe and assist the Generals when they need us!"
Her voice was heard and many heads moved in assent.
Nora was fidgeting slightly as she turned toward her friend and asked, "Should we go out there and help?"
Elizabeth held her daggers in reverse grip before asking, "Do you need to ask?"
Without another word, the girl launched forward, passing through the flames without any damage taken, she entered the battlefield.
In the sky, the Elemental Prime levitated and continued to launch spells of such degrees that exceeded mortal limitations.
Ethan was, as well, engaged in executing as many undead as he could. His Holy Sword was no longer usable since the loss of Faith caused its disintegration.
Every Apostle and Ambrobates was now engaged in the same battle for existence.
"Is this what you wanted? Total annihilation?" Zulcriz spat, wondering if the woman had gone insane to take such a rash decision.
Atheris' expression was unchanged. Not a sign of agitation or remorse she showed. It all seemed to be a calculated decision. Her following words confirmed the hunch,
"Your successor has created a room of doubt in my Emissary's head. And until doubt persists, I know no one would eradicate you. That's why, this was the last resort I could land upon."
Zulcriz was bewildered. They lost their hope in Ethan. That's why they decided to annihilate everything. What kind of foolishness is this?
Back on the battlefield,
**KHUEEEEENG**
Hearing the loud reverberation, Bella turned her head towards the sky only to freeze upon seeing seven undead wyverns had launched some kind of attack that had caged her brother in place.
The sound waves were barely visible and audible, however, considering how Richard was convulsing and groaning in pain, it was evident that he was in trouble.
"Baby!" Bellarine roared, as she summoed her familiar and soared into the air. However,
"Ahhhh!" Several undead began falling over her familiar, climbing the bird and hurting it with their weapons and teeth.
Bellarine lost control, and all she could do was cancel her familiar's summoning and land back on the ground.
"Mom!" Bella supported her mother as she nearly fell to the ground.
Bellarine shook her head, "I am okay...we need to help Baby first."
They were quite high in the sky that's why their spells weren't reaching them at all. And any attempt to help him was shot down by the army of undead.
It was as if the damn Goddess was preventing every attempt at saving him.
"Bella!" Lilia's voice resonated before the duo turned toward the flame barrier, which was protecting the soldiers.
Their eyes widened as they saw the undead easily crossing the wall and starting to overwhelm their army.
Not only that, more than thirty apostles were dead, and the forces of the Light side were nearly wiped out, too.
For the first time, after the war began, Bellarine felt helpless.
Clenching her fist, she looked around, trying to think of any way to save her son and the forces—when suddenly,
*BOOOOOOM*
An explosion occurred in the air, and one of the wyverns was shot down.
Bellarine turned toward the person and found it was the elf from their side who took the shot.
Following that,
**SHFOOOOO**
A torrent of flame took down on the wyvern as a black dragon appeared in the sky.
Bellarine exhaled in relief upon seeing that her son got out of the cage and could move freely.
But the good news didn't stop there.
"Mom, look!" Bella's excited voice garnered her attention as Bellarine looked into the sky and was startled to see big airships heading in their way.
And the emblem on those airships was quite familiar.
Reinforcement has arrived.
