Stuck in a Chinese novel-Chapter 424: Provoke
"Why are you doing that?" Xia Lu asked as she saw Natasha come for the same thing she had been doing for the last three weeks. Natasha remained silent and just used her blood to draw some strange symbols on the walls of Xia Lu's cell. Whenever she would do that, after drawing, the blood drawings would disappear.
"Something that would help," Natasha replied without indulging in anything of use.
"Does that have something to do with your complexion?" Xia Lu asked. Natasha stopped whatever she was doing. She turned to look at Xia Lu with her pale complexion instead of her usual rosy pink skin. Still, she remained silent and turned back to what she was doing after a while.
"You're hurting yourself." Xia Lu said.
"I won't die," Natasha replied. She wouldn't have done so if there was a risk of her dying. As for the pain, she was sure she could endure it. As long as she could endure it, things from her side could work.
"Wouldn't my blood help?" Xia Lu asked.
"It would," Natasha replied.
"Then why not use mine too? Less burden on each other." Xia Lu proposed.
"..." Natasha remained silent, however.
"It does more than hurt, doesn't it?" Xia Lu asked.
"It's a soul spell. It consumes one's life force." Natasha replied while she continued working on it.
"And how much have you spent so far?" Xia Lu asked.
"About thirty years' worth." Natasha honestly replied.
"You'll die at this rate." Xia Lu said.
"So be it," Natasha replied with care.
"You think Wei Jun would be happy about that?" Xia Lu asked.
"He'll understand," Natasha replied.
"Convincing you would be hard, wouldn't it be?" Xia Lu asked.
"You should know," Natasha replied.
"Fine." Xia Lu replied before she brought her tongue out of her mouth and nicked it with her teeth. The blood spurt gathered Natasha's attention, and she immediately left whatever she was doing, making her way to Xia Lu and using a spell to heal the bleeding part, stopping the bleeding.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Natasha asked out loud. Xia Lu smiled with a bloodied mouth but said nothing. Her eyes said everything. Natasha looked at her for a while before she took a deep breath and nodded, "Very well. We'll do it your way."
It would be useless if the subject of rescue were to die. The entire thing would be meaningless. Natasha was well aware that Xia Lu wouldn't hesitate to do something in the time she wouldn't be there. She had to agree with whatever demands she had. Even if it meant sacrificing some of their life force together.
"What I'm about to do wouldn't just hurt. It'll tear you apart. I hope you're prepared for that." Natasha said as she used the blade she had used to cut herself to slice Xia Lu's wrist.
"We'll make it out together, right?" Xia Lu asked. One final question, as if a pact. Natasha looked at Xia Lu for a while before she nodded, "We'll make it out together."
Her mana moved according to her intentions, and Xia Lu's sealed Qi core acted the same way. Even if they were blocked, the function wouldn't be impacted in the least.
Finally, once the pact had been created, they began to work on their way out, together.
"When is it?" Xia Lu asked.
"Two days from now," Natasha replied.
"Haa..." Xia Lu sighed. There was nothing she could do, so she simply let Natasha do what she had to do. There wasn't much time anyway.
Somewhere far away in the middle of the snowy mountains, Wei Jun took deep breaths as he clutched his left shoulder.
A severed arm could be seen a few meters away. Wei Jun took deep breaths as he looked at the humanoid figure a little distance away, making its way to him.
Wei Jun coughed up blood and couldn't help but utter...
"I don't think I'd be going back."

Approximately an hour earlier...
Wei Jun's sword collided with Li Fan Sho's bare fists, and a shockwave erupted from the point of collision. The party pushback was none other than Wei Jun, but Wei Jun managed to avoid any injury or imbalance.
Wei Jun moved to the side and slashed his tiger sword at Li Fan Sho, who once again enshrouded his forearm in Qi and blocked that attack. Wei Jun spun a little and used the diamond sword to stab Li Fan Sho.
Wei Jun's eyes slightly widened to see the attack stopped by a barrier of Qi in only that specific spot. But Wei Jun wasn't done.
[Will of the roaring dragon]
From the point of contact of the diamond sword and Li Fan Sho's barrier, an attack was emitted that attacked Li Fan Sho's internals. The shockwaves that were emitted struck the barrier and cracked the barrier a bit.
"Kugh!"
Li Fan Sho was caught off guard by an unexpected attack; his focus wavered for a second, and Wei Jun made sure to use that second to his advantage.
"Don't move!"
[Death Qi -1000]
[The effect would be doubled when Death Qi is used]
[The target's resistance is too high]
[Effect would diminish by 80%]
But that twenty percent was enough for Wei Jun. After all, he had delivered nine attacks with the diamond sword since they began, so...
Wei Jun once again stabbed Li Fan Sho while also applying an additional surprise at the tip.
Li Fan Sho was certain that his Qi would be able to stop the sword even if he couldn't move. Since he could still move his mind, he used his Qi to stop the attack, but he was sorely mistaken.

Shatter...
The barrier shattered under the force of the attack. The attack force was twice as usual, and that once again managed to catch Li Fan Sho off guard.
The sword passed the barrier and managed to enter Li Fan Sho's body. It only penetrated the upper layer of his flesh, so there wasn't much damage.
It was shallow, and Li Fan Sho was somewhat relieved by that fact. However, when he raised his head to see the smirk on Wei Jun's face, he managed to move his body just enough to push that sword out of his body, but...
[Will of the Dragon]
"URRGGHH!!!"
As if his intestines were struck by a fast-moving train, the shockwave of Wei Jun's Qi, Death Qi at that, did enough damage for Li Fan Sho to grunt in pain.
However, Wei Jun was expecting Li Fan Sho to be in enough pain that he wouldn't be able to do anything for a few seconds, but he was terribly mistaken.
Grab!
Li Fan Sho grabbed the diamond sword that was just inside his body and stopped it from being pulled back by Wei Jun. Wei Jun let go of the sword and stepped back to avoid whatever attack was coming, but the shockwave of Qi let out by Li Fan Sho was more massive than he had expected.
"Argh!!!"
Wei Jun was sent flying away with internal damage he couldn't comprehend.
"Enough!" Li Fan Sho finally uttered a word as he pushed Wei Jun away.
Wei Jun smirked as he smashed into a snow-covered rock. With his back against the rock, he tried to stand up, but the damage was more than he had expected. He refrained from eating a healing pill because he wasn't in that bad of a condition yet.
He managed to pull himself using the tiger sword as support. He looked at the man slowly making his way to Wei Jun with a hand on his abdomen. The same spot where Wei Jun had stabbed him with the diamond sword and left the marks of internal damage.
Li Fan Sho used his scalding hot Qi to block his bleeding wound, but he knew it wouldn't be enough. He needed time to regulate his Qi throughout his body to heal his internal injuries.
Luckily, he had bought himself enough time by rendering Wei Jun useless as well. One desperate attack to let out about ten percent of his Qi. No one could have avoided that much damage, so Wei Jun was out of commission for at the very least a minute, the amount of time he needed to heal his internal injuries.
"Do you have no fear?!" Li Fan Sho couldn't help but ask. All things aside, he was angry at the moment. Very, very angry.
"At the moment? A lot." Wei Jun honestly replied as his class and Death Qi got to work and began to heal him slowly.
He knew he was wasting a chance. Li Fan Sho was trying to buy time, so it was the best time to attack him, but Wei Jun was sure he could heal himself faster than Li Fan Sho, and that was the fact he was counting on.
"Haha." Li Fan Sho chuckled, "You have annoyed me for the last time. After I'm done with you, I'm gonna kill any and everything you hold dear."
"Just like I did with yours?" Wei Jun asked.
"What?" Li Fan Sho asked.
"Haha. I guess you can't tell." Wei Jun chuckled full of mockery and said, "I kill anything and everything you ever held dear. Your lovers, your sects, your businesses, and that small group of vigilantes you had."
"What?" Li Fan Sho was frozen in his place as he couldn't believe what was coming out of Wei Jun's mouth.
"You have nothing back home. They're all gone. Everything you held dear."
Boom!!!
A wave of Qi erupted from Li Fan Sho, and Wei Jun smirked. He had managed to do what he was hoping to do. Make Li Fan Sho stop tending to his injuries.
"Big mistake." Wei Jun said before...
[Qi construct]
And a rain of spears fell on Li Fan Sho.
