Substitute Marriage: Reborn As The Top Big-Shot-Chapter 1934 - 552: Two Bosses
Chapter 1934: 552: Two Bosses
Erin watched the luxury car disappear, her eyes filled with reluctance.
That was Isla Astir.
One of the few impoverished students in her class during middle school.
Other than having good grades,
There were no other highlights.
How could someone from the distinguished succession of the Thompson Clan ever take an interest in someone like Isla Astir?
Erin was completely baffled.
At this moment,
Some classmates began to come out, clearly having witnessed the scene, and they started discussing.
"So Isla Astir’s boyfriend is really rich!"
"Wasn’t that car a limited edition Maybach? I heard it costs over thirty million!"
"Isla Astir is outstanding herself, she’s now a Boss-level comic artist."
"Isn’t there a saying that if you bloom, the butterflies will come?"
"..."
These comments were particularly grating to Erin’s ears.
In the car.
Barbara Will sat in the back of the luxury car, her eyes full of excitement, looking up at Brandon Thompson in the front seat, "Mr. Thompson, I’m in online sales. May I take some photos inside your car? Don’t worry, I won’t include you and Isla in them."
In this business, the most important thing is the gimmick.
Customers only invest when they see you making money.
Without waiting for Brandon Thompson to respond, Barbara Will quickly assured, "Don’t worry, Mr. Thompson, I’m not one of those who fakes things. I’m a legitimate online seller, licensed and all!"
Barbara Will was juggling several jobs to make money, not only in online sales but also selling insurance on the side.
"Sure," Brandon Thompson spoke indifferently, "go ahead and take them."
Barbara Will immediately took out her phone to snap photos.
She was someone who knew her limits well; she didn’t capture Brandon Thompson and Isla Astir at all.
After taking the photos, Barbara Will thought for a moment, then said, "Mr. Thompson, I also sell car insurance. If you need it, just let me know, and I will give you a discount."
Business people are like that, skilled at using every resource around them.
"Okay."
"Thank you, Mr. Thompson."
Barbara Will, leaning on the back seat, smiled and said, "Isla, thanks to you, this is the first time I’m riding in such a high-end luxury car!"
After speaking, Barbara Will said again, "Isla, I’m going to try and catch up to you, work hard to earn money, and try to buy a house and car in Capital City soon."
Barbara Will’s statement even made the driver in front startled.
He initially thought that Barbara Will would talk about finding a boyfriend like Brandon Thompson.
He didn’t expect this girl to actually rely on her own efforts.
Isla Astir smiled, "I believe you can definitely do it."
Barbara Will was like weeds growing out of the cliffs.
Resilient and persevering.
Her family background wasn’t great; her father married her intellectually disabled mother when he was past fifty, and of their four children, only Barbara Will survived.
When Barbara Will was ten, her father fell off a cliff while collecting medicinal herbs to make money and was found dead, his body not intact.
Her mother drowned in a well while Barbara Will was at school.
So, after finishing her compulsory nine-year education, Barbara Will dropped out to work. It had not been easy for her to come this far.
Perhaps due to experiencing too many hardships, Barbara Will loved money.
To the extent that she viewed it as more important than her own life!
Barbara Will smiled and added, "I also think I can definitely do it."
Barbara Will had saved quite a bit of money over the years.
Buying a house within her hometown city was certainly not a problem.
But she wasn’t a one to settle.
She was aspiring for greater things.
After half an hour, the car arrived at the district where Barbara Will rented her place.
Barbara Will got out of the car and smiled, "Isla, thank you and your boyfriend for dropping me off, I’ll treat you to a meal when I have the chance."
Isla Astir got out of the car to send her off, "Sure."
Barbara Will smiled at her, "You should get back in the car."
Once Isla Astir was inside, she saw that at some point Brandon Thompson had moved from the passenger seat to the back seat.
Just as Isla Astir was about to speak, Brandon Thompson wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his head in her neck, "Miss Astir, my head hurts."
Concerned, Isla Astir asked, "Did you catch a cold?"
"Maybe I drank too much," Brandon Thompson replied.
Considering that Brandon Thompson had just shielded her from several drinks, Isla Astir reproached him, "Knowing that you can’t handle your liquor, why did you drink so much!"
"I did it with a purpose," Brandon Thompson said.
Isla Astir was puzzled, "What purpose?"
Brandon Thompson looked up at her, "I wanted to come into the light sooner. You should understand what I mean, Miss Astir?"
Perhaps because he had been drinking, his eyes and face were somewhat red.
