Suddenly, I Am Rich-Chapter 346: The Four Bootlickers
"You four..." Gray could not help but laugh when he saw how exaggerated their reactions were as they approached him.
The four men rushed toward him like excited children who had just seen their favorite parent. It was a funny sight to behold, especially with all the big muscles of their body.
"Boss, it’s really you!"
"You disappeared on us!"
"We thought you forgot about us already!"
"Ey ey, calm down." Gray raised both hands slightly and laughed out loud.
While that was happening, Joel remained standing on the side. He was slightly stunned at how the once intimidating delivery team suddenly looked like obedient puppies. He knew that those 4 respected Gray a lot, but he didn’t knew that it was like this!
Out of the 4, Rome was the first to step
Rome was the first to step forward. He still looked the same, but it was noticeable how he recently gained weight and even had some muscles on his body now!
"Woah, Rome," Gray couldn’t help but smile at the man playfully. "You got bigger, didn’t you?"
Rome immediately stiffened at that comment. But it was different for the three. Instead of falling in silence, they burst out laughing.
"Boss noticed!"
"Told you you’ve been hitting it good, man."
"Show him your arms, idiot!"
Rome’s ears turned slightly red because of that. He found their words ridiculous.
"I-It’s just... regular work, Boss," Rome muttered, scratching the back of his head. "I also just ate better and carry stuff now..."
Gray crossed his arms and looked him up and down on purpose.
"Keep it up. You look healthy," Gray said more sincerely this time. "That’s good."
With it, Rome’s face reddened even more because the compliment sounded so genuine. He wasn’t used to it.
"Thank you, boss," Rome could only answer in a small voice.
After giving attention to Rome, Gray’s vision moved to the other tree.
With Gray’s eyes on them, they immediately straightened.
Gray first looked at Dante. Back then, he remembered that Dante always had a shaved head and arms full of tattoos. He was the kind of guy people would quickly avoid. But now? . Intimidating. Cold. Unapproachable.
Now?
Gray raised a brow.
"You grew your hair out, Dante?"
Dante subconsciously touched his head. His once bare scalp was now covered with dark and slightly long hair that was neatly brushed back.
"It... just happened, Boss," Dante said, trying to sound casual about it. .
"He also uses conditioner now." Marco snorted.
"Expensive one." Luis nodded seriously.
Dante shot them a glare. "Shh. Shut up."
"It looks good," Gray commented casually. "I didn’t expect that from you."
For a second, Dante completely froze. His tough expression cracked a little.
"Thank you, Boss," he muttered awkwardly.
Even with tattoos covering his arms, the way he reacted made him look less scary and more like a big embarrassed guy.
Gray chuckled before turning to Marco. Marco was still the less bulkiest among the two. He also noticed that the man’s face was glowing. He looked certainly happy.
"You," Gray said, narrowing his eyes slightly. "You look more handsome now, Marco."
Marco blinked.
"Ha...?"
"You’re doing some skincare now?" Gray added calmly.
Rome burst out laughing.
"I told you Boss would notice!"
"Most of his income goes to buying weirdass things to put on the face, boss."
Marco’s face turned red instantly. "Hey! I don’t!"
Gray smirked and laughed with them. "Confidence suits you. Keep it."
Marco coughed and looked away.
Lastly, Gray looked at Luis. Out of the 4 of them, he is someone who hasn’t changed that much.
"You didn’t change much." Gray tilted his head slightly.
"Is that bad, Boss?" Luis blinked slowly.
Gray shook his head. "No. You’re still adorable."
"..."
Joel almost choked from the side from what he heard. Rome and Dante turned to look at Luis, and they couldn’t help but laugh at it. They were laughing so loudly that a nearby staff member glanced over at them.
Luis’s entire face turned bright red.
"B-Boss..." he stammered, completely flustered. "I-I’m not adorable."
"You are," Gray said calmly.
That was enough to completely destroy whatever composure Luis had left in him.
Rome burst out laughing first, Dante covered his mouth, and Marco laughed out loud as he bent slightly, clutching his stomach.
"Adorable!"
"Big baby!"
"Bwahahahahah!"
"Shut up!" Luis quickly protested, but his face was already red up to his ears.
The more he denied it, the more they just laughed. It was frustrating!
Even Joel had to turn away, pretending to check something on his phone because he could not hold in is laughter too.
"Boss..." Luis looked helplessly at Gray, as if asking for rescue.
Gray, however, just stood there and laughed, too.
"Hahaha, alright, alright," Gray finally said between laughs. "That’s enough."
After a while, their laughter slowly died down. They were still grinning, but at least they could breathe again.
Rome wiped the corner of his eye. "Boss, seriously though. What are you doing here? You suddenly visited us on weekends."
Dante nodded. "Yeah. Did something happen?"
Gray slipped his hands into his pockets casually.
"Nothing serious," he said. "I just came to check around and I’m also buying groceries for our house."
"Groceries?" Marco repeated.
"Yup," Gray nodded, "We’re out of food."
The four of them looked at each other at the same time.
Then their expressions brightened.
"Good, Boss!"
"We’ll help you!"
Before Gray could even react, Rome had already grabbed a shopping cart from the side and wheeled it over to them.
"Boss, please," Rome said, gesturing respectfully. "Allow us."
"We’ll escort you." Marco puffed his chest.
Gray raised a brow at the sudden eagerness of the four.
"I can push my own cart," he said dryly.
"No, Boss!" the four of them answered at the same time.
While that was happening, Joel could only watch from the side, speechless.
’Is this how they act before our boss?’ Joel made a face as he looked at their humongous bodies and their childish act. He got chills over it!
