Sumatra's Greatest Fan-Chapter 86: Inala
"Feathery bitch?" Torq was surprised by the crassness of Inala, "That’s not the way to..."
"Oh, please," Inala rolled his eyes, "It irritates me to hear you call him Nusantara Celestial this, Nusantara Celestial that."
"He’s a feathery bitch, and that’s all there is to it." A pause later, Inala made eye contact with a mildly pissed expression, "There is no reason to give respect to an enemy."
"I didn’t mean it like that," Torq shook his head, blinking in surprise when he felt his mood was improving for some reason.
"I think I realise the issue here." Inala observed Torq and spoke, "You’ve become an old man mentally, even though you are residing as a young man now."
"What do you mean..." Torq tilted his head in confusion.
"Exactly what I said," Inala explained, "You observe the environment with a peaceful daze, watch the clouds pass overhead in satisfaction, and perceive every living being as a cute youngling."
"It’s like an old man who has given up much grip on worldly affairs and is only doing things that he needs to, before his end." Maintaining eye contact, Inala uttered, "You’ve already experienced everything life has to offer. You’re now a mere old man who has lost his edge."
"I..." Torq wanted to refute Inala’s claims, but realised the other party was speaking the truth. Even though an invasion was happening, he still took the time to appreciate the scenery. Moreover, whenever something dangerous was about to happen, he took a lot of time mentally preparing himself.
Those were signs of a veteran who had grown in age and was taking action only because there was no other choice, not because he wanted to.
Even though his body was young, Torq’s mind had grown too old. That caused him to think of the bigger picture all the time, which made him lose focus on the scene right before him.
Had he been a teenager, he would have ignored the bigger picture, acted impulsively at times, and truly struggled to survive like there was no other option.
"Option," Inala continued, "You’ve experienced Sumatra’s grandeur enough times that even if you were to die, or even if the region were to be destroyed, you aren’t as affected, since you’ve already experienced everything the region had to offer, multiple times at that."
"What are you getting at?" Torq sighed, "There’s nothing much I could do at this point. You can’t expect me to behave like a brat..."
"No, I can." Inala revealed a wide grin as he tapped his chin, "Let’s see...your first life where you were desperate would do. Then, when you followed us to Earth and lived there, that would be helpful too."
"Every other lifetime is useless." As he uttered, a golden arc of lightning appeared in Inala’s finger.
Upon seeing it, Torq’s face grew pale as he stumbled back, "W-What are you doing?"
"Oftentimes, having too much knowledge and wealth in experience acts counterproductive. You stop innovating, since your existing knowledge takes care of everything." Inala didn’t seem to be moving in the slightest. However, even after Torq broke into a sprint, the distance between the two didn’t change in the slightest.
"Plans must always keep up with the changes." Saying so, Inala thrust his hand into Torq’s head, causing a surge in golden lightning, "You literally pioneered this saying. So, I’ll help you return to your desperate days,"
"When nothing went your way."
GRAHH!
Torq collapsed on the floor, feeling his memories worth tens of thousands of years go up in flames, as if they never existed in the first place, and he, as an individual, had never experienced such events ever.
As he fell unconscious, Inala squatted before him, patting Torq on the head without the slightest hesitation as to what he intended to do next, "A systematic plan never works, not on Sumatra."
"If the enemy figures out your plan, then think of ways to take advantage of the enemy’s knowledge of your plan to truly screw him in the ass, as many times as necessary." As he spoke, golden sparks arced through his fingers and splattered over Torq’s body from time to time.
"I will put you in the same setting I found myself in once." Inala uttered, "That sense of desperation will truly ignite your quest for survival."
Inala grabbed Torq and vanished from the spot. Reappearing at a high altitude over Kappeet Channel while remaining hidden amidst clouds, Inala observed five Battleships sailing towards the Dralh Sea.
They still had two days of journey left to arrive at their destination.
Inala observed the five Battleships and quickly spotted Boiboi Pet being choked by an angry Runthral. ’That is indeed a perfect scenario to start over.’
His figure vanished and reappeared before the duo hanging down the Battleship’s hull. For an instant, Runthral grew dazed, at which point Inala swapped the positions of Torq and the Boiboi Pet.
He erased Boiboi Pet and eyed Torq, ’Now, I’ll leave things to you.’
’In a moment, once you’ve lived through the labyrinth of memories I’ve fabricated, your journey will start in the truest sense.’ Revealing a mild smirk, Inala vanished from the spot. He reappeared at a far away location on Sumatra and eyed three peacocks perched there, ’They’re invading like maggots.’
The peacocks scrambled the moment one of their kind vanished suddenly. They collapsed their bodies to disperse the three Quills spinning in the bodies of each. The Quills flew across the place and entered the body of whichever creature they came into contact with.
And promptly after, they fled the place.
One after another, Inala hunted them. Only the ones that managed to slip past him entered the regions deeper into Sumatra. If not for his actions, the sheer number of Quills in any region would have easily entered the three digits.
...
Earth!
Seated in a shabby room and slurping through cold noodles was a youth, his body scrawny while his eyes seemed larger than usual, a result of being in front of a screen for extended periods with minimal rest.
"The last Chapter should have been released by now." Slurping in a hurry in excitement, the youth entered in a set of keywords on a website and pulled up the cover page of a novel. There was a Chapter uploaded there, blinking with the tag of ’New’.
"Chapter 1116..." The youth giggled in glee. But before he opened it, he hesitated, for the series had become a part of his life. And this was the final Chapter. Post this, he would lose his only joy in life.
Hesitant, he stared at the cover page and hovered his gaze upon the title. It seemed to turn blurry after a while as the words registered themselves in his mind. Soon, the youth said to himself, "I’ll read it."
"I want to see the conclusion." And then, he clicked the last Chapter after lingering his gaze upon the title for a couple more seconds, a title that went as follows:
[I’ll Surpass The MC!]
