Chapter 89: A Deal, Impromptu

"Grahhh..." Torq felt suffocated, hurriedly thinking up a plan to survive. He surfed through the furball’s memories related to the content of powers he possessed at the moment, ’I can bring out the Empyrean Snapper Pet. No, if someone is watching us, it’ll mess up everything.’

’Why did the original behave with such lethargy...? Doesn’t matter, since I’m Torq now.’ Based on the memories, he condensed a shot out a droplet of liquid towards Runthral. It moved pretty slowly, having an unfamiliar wobble to it.

Runthral merely huffed once and the droplet splattered, "Why aren’t you showing off your grand powers? Weren’t you the oh-so-majestic being even without being a Deity?"

"Fucking leech thinks he’s great just because I tolerated..." Suddenly, Runthral stopped talking. He let go of Torq and hurriedly retreated before closing his nose and mouth, "What is that...SMELL?"

"Gah...Koff...!" Torq fell to the floor and gasped for air. In a few seconds, he recovered enough to speak, "It’s an Elixir."

"And you wasted it." He sported an expression of pity. A second later, he waved his hand, "I thought we came to terms with our situation. So, why are you trying to kill me again?"

"This is..." Runthral ignored Torq’s words and sniffed the air once more, scowling at the familiar smell, "Piss!"

"Fucker! Do you not drink water at all?"

The droplet Torq launched towards Runthral was none other than his piss. It was the best possible option he could think to distract Runthral for the moment, during which he could think of ways to survive the situation.

Torq, originally, would have never done such an action. Even though he had been to Earth out of curiosity, it was no different from a trip to him. He didn’t embrace the ways of Earthlings at all.

But after Inala manipulated his memories, Torq considered himself a resident of Earth originally and had reincarnated on Sumatra to assume Torq’s identity.

Earth’s existence wasn’t a secret on Sumatra, at least to a few powerful existences on it. Geographically, Earth was located pretty far away from Sumatra. However, those with the means could visit it.

Inala had been to Earth in the past. And with his capabilities, he could rewrite the memories and characters of other living beings. All he had done was tweak Torq’s memories without affecting his character or personality.

It was like flipping a table. The table was still the same, only its side facing upwards had changed. And that was enough to change how Torq dealt with a situation, for he now behaved no different from an Earthling that got reincarnated on Sumatra with an extra set of memories relating to both Torq and Boiboi.

"I have more of where it came from." Torq threatened, "I have developed my bladder as such I’ll release an explosive diarrhoea when I’m killed. Even if you protect your body with your power, the sight alone will traumatise you."

"I can just dump you in the water." Runthral glared, though he took a step back in hesitation. As a Deity treated with respect, such a scene would indeed affect him mentally.

"If you’re worried about your power getting used by me, I have a way to stop it." Torq spoke.

"Really?" Runthral stared back in suspicion, "Are you sure you’re stating the truth?"

"I have no reason to lie." Torq shrugged casually, "Since I’m not going to do it for free."

"What do you need?" Runthral asked, "You’ll need to keep up your end of the bargain first. Only then will I give you what you need."

"Either we do it simultaneously, or we can keep shitting each other for the rest of our lives." Torq grumped and extended a hand forward.

"Fine, same time then." Runthral accepted the proposition.

"Good, then I’ll reveal my card to you." Saying so, Torq prompted Runthral to shield them, "Create a large enough space where I don’t have to worry about a third party seeing us."

"Alright," Runthral erected a dome of mist around them, ensuring to leave plenty of space within.

’Let me see if I can pull this off.’ Seeing the erected dome, Torq surfed through his memories, tried to familiarise himself as much as possible with the memories and took action based on them. Appearing next to him was the Empyrean Snapper Pet, "You’ve already seen this before."

"This is the portion of your talent that is within me." He explained, "The silver humanoid and that mysterious power you saw before is like a pathway connecting us. It’s what allowed me to steal your power."

Pointing at the Empyrean Snapper, he clicked his tongue, "The silver humanoid is my talent. I intend to borrow your power until I’ve developed my talent enough to survive on my own."

"Well, that was my original intention." He retracted the Empyrean Snapper Pet, for a moment basking in awe at the mysteriousness of his power before focusing on the situation at hand as he eyed Runthral, "As long as you consume it, I will no longer be able to use your power."

"What do you need in return?" Runthral asked, "If it seems feasible, I’ll give it to you."

"10,000 Parute Fruits and a kilogram of Spirit Moss," Torq listed his requirements, "Plus a Storage Lantern large enough to store them."

"Deal!" Runthral shook hands, feeling it was a reasonable exchange. Ensuring Boiboi couldn’t use his power any more worked fully in his favour. This way, he didn’t have to worry about lacking power in a necessary situation.

The price wasn’t even much, as he had the means to purchase it after a couple days of labour. With his capabilities, there was plenty he could do to amass a small fortune in a short while.

"I truly hope I can trust you just this once." Runthral let out a long breath, masking his disappointment, "Otherwise, shame on me, truly."

’Don’t try to kill me then.’ Thinking as such, Torq chuckled, "Trust my greed. I’m only accepting this because I have plenty to gain too."

"Alright," Runthral grabbed Torq by the scruff of his neck and jumped into the hull. The matter forming the hull curved around the duo like a liquid and solidified once they had passed through.

’Based on my memories, his control has improved.’ Torq observed the faint lines that had appeared in the hull, looking like ripples. The ripples were a sign the matter composition in the hull had been interfered with.

Runthral’s level of skill hadn’t reached a level where he could make a clean entry and exit through such dense material.

"My Deity, was something the issue?" Inin rushed in a hurry upon seeing the duo, bowing quickly to ask while shooting a glare at Torq, "If something’s bothering you, please tell us."

"We’re happy to serve you."
