Summoner Online: I Became the Tutorial Boss with a 999+ Villainess-Chapter 41: Building a system.
Outside the castle on the First Floor, in the great empty land that stretched far beyond, all the monsters in the Nameless dungeon had gathered.
From the low-level skeletons rattling their bones to the high-ranking Skeleton Knights and the winged Imp demons hovering above.
Yes.
After receiving their orders from the Elite Demoness, Lyra the Abyssal Empress, they were immediately excited to finally have the chance to hear their Lord’s words for themselves.
Though they stood in random places, they were still organized and quite easy to tell apart by their species.
Standing at 120 in number, with 67 Skeletons and 53 Imp Demons, they all focused their attention on the mansion, watching as Kai and his Elite Demons walked out from the front door.
Kai, upon making his way outside, noticed every single demon that was present there instantly fell to their knees.
"Hail the Shadow of Victims!"
They announced with pride and respect, their combined voices echoing through the entire cavern like a clap of thunder.
Lyra and Carlotta did the same. Even though they were standing closer to him on the porch, they still fell to their knees.
Carlotta was the one with the biggest smile on her face, since she was the one who taught the demons how to greet him properly when he appeared.
It sounded good to her ears. She was certain Kai would love it.
’I see. So these are the monsters that are under me. If I am being honest, I am actually impressed at how coordinated they are. Monsters aren’t exactly the most civilized of races.’
He sighed internally. There was no time to be admiring their discipline. He had a lot of work to do, and it was best if he started sorting it out as soon as possible.
"Are these all of them?" Kai looked to Lyra.
"Yes, my Lord."
"This will be good."
Kai sat down at the edge of the stairs, where he could easily cross his legs and still get a good vantage point of the monsters below.
’The first thing I need to do is create a system that I know everyone can follow. We will most likely not be facing low-level humans anymore, so it is best to be prepared. Besides, I do not want them knowing about the Red Players that will soon storm this place just yet. Best to see how they act under pressure.’
"You there."
Kai pointed at a random Imp in the crowd of monsters.
A huge gasp enveloped the mist as they all looked towards the chosen monster. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
While everyone else was shocked and envious, that particular Imp was terrified, thinking he had done something wrong.
"Come forth."
The Imp folded its wings and moved forward, trembling. Getting to the last step that led to the castle entrance, the monster fell to its knees, pressing its forehead to the stone.
[Imp.]
[HP: 100]
[Level: 78.]
’This one will do.’ Kai thought to himself.
On his way outside the mansion, he discovered several things from his system and also from his brief discussion with Lyra.
First off, her report on the dungeon’s floor layout helped him understand what he needed to do to secure the perimeter.
It was a lot, but not something he couldn’t handle.
Secondly, he discovered that upon the dungeon entering the B-Rank, he got a new feature that allowed him to access the Dungeon Shop Market.
This feature basically held most of the treasures of the world, purchasable with Dungeon Points, as long as he or his servants had encountered this world before.
It was perfect, with no greater timing.
"As of this moment onward, your name shall be Azeal."
Kai spoke, his finger pointing at the shivering monster.
For his followers, there was no greater spectacle than watching him bestow a name on one of them. It was something many would kill themselves for just to get a one percent chance of receiving.
"My Lord, I am not worthy of such a blessing. It is with an open heart that I take this title, and serve you as best as I can. Even at the cost of my own life."
As the Imp spoke, a bright red light began to shine around him. Instantly, his entire physical form began to change right in front of everyone.
The small, grotesque body stretched and cracked.
Standing there now was a naked man with long, flowing red hair, black eyes, and purple muscles.
His body was so toned it looked carved from marble. There were signs of red magical tattoos on his body, most of which moved on their own as though they were alive.
Everyone watched in awe.
The monster that had only moments ago been a low-level Imp was now a Grand Demon, one of the highest-ranking species under the demon race.
[Azeal.]
[HP: 500,000]
[Level: 590.]
[Class: Higher World Caster.]
Azeal stared at his new hands. He didn’t need to be told about his evolution; he could practically feel the power surging through his body like a raging river.
Immediately, he lowered his head even more, gratitude etched on his face.
"To think I was chosen. No amount of thanks can show how much I admire you, my Lord."
From where he knelt, he could already feel the respect of the rest of the demons growing even more.
After all, he just attained one of the highest forms of a demon, dangerously close to the power level of a Witch or a True Demon.
Kai didn’t say much. He tapped the space next to him, interacting with his invisible interface.
He bought a set of high-quality robes from the market, reached into a small portal that opened beside him, and then used his wind magic to deliver the cloth to Azeal.
Azeal caught the cloth in his palm, understanding that his Lord was urging him to put it on. Yet another act of kindness.
But before he could do that, Kai’s voice drew his attention back.
"With the name Azeal, you will attain another title as well. From this day forth, you will be called the Grand Demon of the Sixth Floor. You will rule the Sixth Floor, taking no less than thirty strong Imp Demons along with you."
Kai gestured to the crowd.
"That place is a land of mana. Magic runs through the soils like rivers. This should make it easy for you to grow your men and protect the land as best as you can."
Silence settled as they all listened.
The fact Kai just granted Azeal a title also meant Azeal had received an Authority over that floor.
"I expect you to build that place and turn it into the best fortress in this entire dungeon. Further information will be given, but for now, this task you shall complete. Failure will not be tolerated."
"I will not disappoint you, my Lord." Azeal bowed his head even lower, his forehead touching the cold stone.
Once everything had played out, Lyra used her finger to check something on a stone tablet she was holding, which served as the registry list of the dungeon.
"I have registered Azeal to be the Boss of the Sixth Floor," she announced professionally.
"Good."
Kai looked toward the remaining army.
’Holy shit, that took a lot out of me. Maybe it is because I am in the dungeon, but I am sure that should have knocked me out or drained my mana to zero.
Instead, it seems like my mana is increasing rapidly on its own. Which is a good thing, no argument there. I can get a lot done without having to worry about passing out.’
He shifted his gaze to the Skeletons.
"You too. Come here."
He pointed at the next set of monsters, ready to create another General.
