On the Fifth Floor.

Right at the center of what seemed to be an eternity of darkness, a small door with a blue glowing light stood at the center, its edges sparkling with raw mana.

But that wasn’t the main focus.

Not too far away from the door was a huge, dark circular table, with a small blue ball of flames dancing right at the center.

Around the table were multiple shadowy-looking chairs, each having several blue flames dancing around them as well.

Seated on one of those chairs was Sanovere himself, the boss of the entire floor.

It had only been three days since he was assigned that role, and he had already managed to produce lower-rank monsters.

Usually, when a Boss births a mob from their actions, such as killing players and using their very own mana as a substitute, the monster is born on the Second Floor.

Only after Carlotta sees them as worthy would they be allowed to go towards their creator.

However, Sanovere’s monster creation was slightly different from the rest.

Unlike the other Pillars who had their monsters birthed on the Second Floor, Sanovere was able to make his merely by heading to the Eighth Floor to gather all the dead players, solely for the fact that he was able to turn them into his mindless puppets using his blood.

Not many of the Floor Pillars agreed with this method, viewing it as cheating. Not that he cared anyway, as long as it got him praises from Lord Kai himself.

Suddenly, during his moment of thought, two Pillars walked into the room through the glowing door.

The first were Lyra and Fanny. Both of them immediately scanned the area the moment they walked in.

"Ah, there you are. I was wondering when you would all show up." Sanovere stood up from the chair, both his hands resting on the surface.

"Good morning, Sanovere," Fanny uttered, hugging a purple doll-like material in her arms. She was searing a black shirt and a cape that covered her head only slightly.

Sanovere looked at her, a calm look on his face.

"Good morning to you too, Lady Fanny. You seem cute as always."

"Heeh~" Fanny shied away.

She didn’t need to be told before she walked over to one of the chairs and sat down comfortably there.

In human years, one could easily consider her to be about 13 or 14 years of age. However, in dragon years, she had lived for over a hundred years, cursed to be young forever.

As she sat on the chair, she quickly looked over to Lyra, who was walking slowly toward the table.

"I see you have done nothing to the place, other than add a table and chair." She didn’t seem impressed and instead sat down on the chair next to Fanny.

"Do pardon the environment. Unfortunately, this is all I was capable of doing using the EXP my Lord gave me. I am afraid my building skills pale in comparison to you and Carlotta."

Before anyone could say anything again—

"Fhera is here!!!"

Fhera walked in from the portal with a huge smile on her face, and right there behind her was Azeal.

Both of them walked in and immediately sat down on the respective chairs that were already waiting for them, leaving just one more empty seat for Carlotta.

"Awwwn, Carlotta hasn’t come back from her trip with the Boss?" Asked Fhera, a somewhat sad look on her face. "I wish I was the one that went."

"Sanovere, why have you summoned us here? It better be important. I was busy with something on the First Floor. Lord Kai might return any moment from now." Lyra questioned. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"You always did hate being called away from the First Floor. Very well, I should have made it clear as to why I requested for you all to join me on my floor. Especially you, Fhera. I pulled you away from your quest. I truly apologize." Sanovere smiled at her.

"Nah, it’s no biggie. Truth be told, I finished the mission he gave me that very day. I was only waiting to relay it to him, but he wasn’t around."

"I see. In any case, that only further strengthens my argument." Sanovere sat down on the chair with ease.

With a single snap of his finger, the flames at the center of the table morphed and formed into a map, the very same map Lord Kai had given him upon his summon.

"I would like to discuss the first step into bringing Lord Kai’s orders into action."

A serious look played on their faces just at the mention of that.

"Yes. The conquering of the entire nation."

"Fhera doesn’t know anything about that. So I’ll rather stay silent," Fhera was the first to speak.

As for Lyra...

"That’s surprising. I could have sworn I was the only one who truly understands my Lord. And yet, you, a newcomer, understand his words so quickly?"

Sanovere smiled at her comment.

"It was quite easy to put together. The very moment he handed me that map, I knew exactly what he wanted me to do. Why else would he have summoned me, the Vampire Lord who waged war on all of humankind?"

He paused.

"If that wasn’t clear enough, he handed me the map, choosing I alone to study the nation. Surely a being as powerful as him would not ask me to do such a flimsy task if there wasn’t a true meaning behind it."

Lyra smiled. She was impressed, if anything.

"Uhm... couldn’t he have just wanted you to study the map for some other reason?"

They all looked at Fanny who had just spoken.

"Sweet child. It is understandable as to why you find it rather confusing. But your big brother will explain it to the best of my ability."

He pointed at her teddy bear.

"Before the Great Lord left the dungeon, he offered you this particular doll, yes?"

"Y-yes. He said to keep it with me at all times."

"If I am not mistaken, you are the Great Dragon of Hiquesm, cursed by your mother for devouring your brother. He wouldn’t play with you, so you chose to eat him instead, correct?"

Fanny frowned a bit.

"If you are wondering as to how I know... that is simply because I hold most of the knowledge in the world. Which, of course includes most of you. Now, then. You wanted to play and got cursed because of it. Why do you think he gave you a doll of all things?"

Everyone in the room had their eyes widen in shock as soon as the realization hit them.

Sanovere smiled when he noticed they all understood him.

"The same applies to every single one of us. I am not excluded. I wanted nothing more than to conquer the world in my former life. And my Master has chosen me to fulfill that dream, making him the Ruler of this world and the next to come. Yes, this is my calling, and for us all, we are the Pillars serving under the Great Lord of Shadows."
