Chapter 105: 0103 Kicked off the pedestal
Kicked off the Pedestal
The area around the two figures seemed enveloped by an invisible force field, making the air oppressively dense.
The atmosphere stagnated; nobody moved.
Grass and leaves danced chaotically around them, fluttering between the two. As the last leaf passed their field of vision, both figures vanished again.
The God of Assassins flexed arms as sinewy as dragon coils, his claws reaching out like a vicious dragon, striking Ye Qiu with the swiftness of lightning.
The God of Assassin’s movements were so quick that they cast shadows, and Ye Zi couldn’t discern from where the attack would come.
Ye Qiu’s eyes gleamed knowingly, sparing any unnecessary movement. The actions of the God of Assassins seemed to slow down in his eyes, and just as the attack was about to hit him, Ye Qiu suddenly counterattacked.
His counterattack was equally sharp, his fingers hooked, especially when he condensed True Qi at his fingertips. It seemed as though his fingers, glossy with cold light, could tear through steel and concrete.
Bang, bang!
The collision of their powers caused both of their bodies to tremble, but neither of them cared as they stared each other down with intensity.
The God of Assassins attacked with precision and ruthlessness, never hesitating, truly a king among assassins and a troublesome opponent for Ye Qiu.
Particularly since the God of Assassins had a marrow-deep mastery of killing moves, allowing any casual strike to be lethal. If it weren’t for Ye Qiu’s also high skill in lethal techniques, he might have already fallen to one of the God of Assassin’s strikes.
Similarly, in the eyes of the God of Assassins, Ye Qiu was a tough opponent, capable of countering every move with keen reactions and speed that hardly lagged behind his own.
Considering Ye Qiu’s young age, it was unbelievable how he had honed such strength unless one witnessed it firsthand.
The God of Assassins grew anxious from being unable to defeat Ye Qiu, knowing that every move he made was being watched by that person, and prolonging the fight only seemed to highlight his incompetence.
The God of Assassins, if unable to handle an unknown youngster, couldn’t truly claim the title of God of Assassins.
Regardless of the master behind him, or his own title, it would all come to be seen as an empty boast.
Whoosh, whoosh!
After a single strike, they separated again.
Still an even match, neither could gain the upper hand.
"I have to admit, your strength has exceeded my expectations, you’ve earned the right to face my full power," said the God of Assassins, eyeing Ye Qiu as he ripped off his Samurai attire, revealing his upper body.
Now his muscles were more visible; his arms resembled two hammers welded onto his shoulders, his chest a glistening, inverted triangle of muscle that shone brilliantly, clearly defined muscle lines deep as ravines made him resemble a strong bull.
The bare-chested God of Assassins, with his overbearing presence, could intimidate anyone less powerful to wet themselves in fear.
Especially, that combination of muscular build with his impassive gaze indeed seemed a fearsome deity of death, daring anyone to provoke him.
Ye Qiu seemed to lack such advantages; he did not possess the muscular development of the God of Assassins, his build slim, and even his arms not half as thick as his opponent’s wrists, making him appear much frail.
However, despite such an appearance, Ye Qiu’s aura was not overwhelmed in the slightest.
He wore a smile, as if everything around him was utterly ordinary, unworthy of concern.
The God of Assassins was puzzled at where Ye Qiu’s confidence stemmed from, knowing he had already unleashed tenfold his power, no longer concealing his strength, and yet the young man across from him remained utterly composed.
Although the God of Assassins harbored doubts, the formidable strength he possessed instilled him with unparalleled confidence.
In terms of strength, he could wrestle a bull with his bare hands, rivaling the power of a fierce bull; in terms of speed, he could match a sprinting lion. Especially since he could effectively combine both attributes, he was invincible in the world of assassins, defeating any opponent that came his way.
Thus, the God of Assassins was extremely arrogant, and even facing Ye Qiu, he was only now planning to unleash his true power.
He didn’t care whether Ye Qiu truly had any hidden strategies; at this moment, he just wanted to quickly take down this young man and bring him back to complete that person’s orders.
His gaze flashed like lightning, and after a fierce clash, the God of Assassins initiated the attack.
This time, he completely changed his previous attack style, and both his speed and strength increased fivefold!
Bang!
The God of Assassins swung his fist, hitting Ye Qiu directly on the shoulder, staggering him.
Ye Qiu rubbed his shoulder; had it not been for the last moment, when he redirected his True Qi, the God of Assassins’ punch could have shattered his bones or even caused complete disability of his arm.
What shocked Ye Qiu the most was the sudden great increase in the God of Assassins’ speed and strength, almost leaving him unable to react.
"Let me hit you with one more punch, and you will lose your life," the God of Assassins said indifferently, licking his lips. The attack just now was merely a beginning, and it wasn’t aimed at Ye Qiu’s fatal parts.
"You’ll have to touch me first!" Ye Qiu retorted coldly.
The God of Assassins snorted and his body transformed into a blur, abruptly appearing ten meters away right in front of Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu no longer used his x-ray vision, instead, he closed his eyes, leaving himself at the mercy of the opponent’s deadly punches.
"Brother!"
Seeing Ye Qiu in this state filled Ye Zi with urgency; she shouted loudly and was about to rush over, but her movement was a step too slow and her advancing foot halted mid-step.
The speed of the God of Assassins was as swift as a gale and as fierce as a bear’s paw swinging at him, but just as his powerful attack was about to hit Ye Qiu, Ye Qiu’s body fluttered like a sheet of paper, lightly blowing up and effortlessly evading the God of Assassins’ attack.
The God of Assassins was startled, yet his hands didn’t stop. He continued to strike, his palms booming like thunder, as if lightning was striking the sea. Yet, Ye Qiu was like a ship swaying precariously in the water, floating with the waves, never getting hit.
"Impossible! I, the God of Assassins, have never missed a target, how could I possibly be defeated at his hands?" the God of Assassins muttered to himself, his eyes showing shock and disbelief.
Although Ye Qiu’s aura wasn’t strong, his frequent evasion of his killing moves was extraordinary.
The God of Assassins didn’t give up; he continued to accelerate his attacks, channeling almost all his strength into his strikes against Ye Qiu.
The assault was like a tempest, bombarding Ye Qiu like cannonballs.
Ye Qiu’s body moved left, then right, up, then down, without any discernible pattern, yet he managed to dodge all of the God of Assassins’ attacks.
Watching this scene, Chai, who was sitting in front of a screen, chuckled coldly: "It seems this person might have a significant connection with that man from years ago; the God of Assassins is no match for him. Look up all the information on this person."
He was speaking to an elder behind him. The elder nodded upon hearing this and immediately went to do it.
Chai watched the frustrated expression on the God of Assassins’ face and sighed, "Anger will only get you kicked out of your position sooner; it seems the title ’God of Assassins’ really doesn’t suit you!"
"Bring out your last ace, let me see what this person has to do with that man from the past. This is the last bit of value you have for me," Chai’s voice echoed slowly.
