Superstar's Development Diary-Chapter 806 - 808: I Really Love Eating Fish!!
Jinxia quickly introduced herself as well, emphasizing her gratitude for Director Stanlanca’s recognition. She was thrilled to play the lead role in his film and promised to work hard to live up to his expectations.
The two exchanged polite compliments and felt they had bonded enough. Stanlanca then instructed his assistant to take Jinxia onboard the boat for a tour of its basic functions.
This boat, crafted by the production team, was designed differently from ordinary boats. It featured many novel and unique operations. Each part of the boat had a specific function, and as Jinxia listened, she tried it out, feeling as if she was playing a game.
After a while, a clamorous noise arose from not far away; staff members were clapping and whistling, creating a lively atmosphere.
Jinxia looked up and saw a young man walking out of the sea, holding a sharp, slender branch with seven or eight fish hanging from it!
People were marveling at the young man’s fishing skills!
The assistant, a woman showing Jinxia the boat’s features, couldn’t help but rush to the edge of the boat for a closer look, cheering loudly with her hands cupped around her mouth.
Jinxia followed closely, listening to the assistant’s unrestrained admiration: "Wow! Angus, you’re amazing! Ahhhh!"
Jinxia quietly took a few steps back, confirming her suspicion that this assistant was one of the young man’s admirers.
Originally thinking the excitement would die down once the man left, Jinxia was surprised when he directly boarded the boat and headed towards them.
The man was shirtless, his abs sharply defined under the sunlight. His slightly muscular build seemed just right, neither too exaggerated nor too thin.
His wet hair was slicked back, accentuating his handsome and uniquely charming facial features.
The surrounding screams grew louder and higher-pitched, making Jinxia awkwardly wish she could support the assistant, fearing she might faint from excitement.
The young, handsome man walked straight up to Jinxia, handing her the branch of fish he had caught, showing a smile he had practiced many times until perfect, saying:
"Hello, I’m Angus Morgan, the male lead in this film and your partner for the next five months. This is a gift for you."
Jinxia glanced at him, then at the fish, and after many thoughts flashed through her mind, she quickly responded with a smile, "Thank you for the gift."
Angus’s smile became even more charming.
The next second, she said, "I’d like to share this gift with the entire cast and crew, is that okay?"
Angus’s smile froze, followed by more enthusiastic screams from the female assistant —
"Wow, Jinxia, you’re really too kind! I absolutely love eating fish!!"
From that afternoon’s failed attempt at gifting fish, Angus didn’t give up his interest in Jinxia; instead, he was even more intrigued.
Jinxia’s handling of the situation won the favor of the whole crew, especially the assistant, whose smile never faded.
Some crew members knew Angus was a flirtatious man and were watching the drama unfold, betting he would crash and burn with Jinxia, even placing wagers on it.
Some bet Angus could win Jinxia’s heart, while others bet he couldn’t, with those betting he could even specifying dates. The variety of bets suggested these folks were quite bored.
Unaware of these wagers, both Angus and Jinxia simply carried on, though Director Stanlanca was somewhat aware but chose not to intervene, as it didn’t concern him enough to act.
That evening, the crew held a bonfire party for Jinxia.
On the coast, listening to the ebb and flow of the sea, enjoying the cool breeze, everyone gathered in a circle, dancing around the blazing bonfire.
Everyone’s exuberant and hospitable demeanor dispelled much of the unease Jinxia had felt. She had worried about facing racial discrimination abroad, but at least outwardly, the crew seemed harmonious.
"Hey, want to join us for a dance?" At some point, Angus appeared before Jinxia, bowing slightly and extending his hand in a sincere invitation.
In the firelight, his handsome face seemed to glow with a golden halo, making him shine.
Jinxia’s eyes curved in a warm smile, accentuating the fullness beneath her eyes and lending her an air of gentle elegance. She softly replied, "Thanks for the offer, but I’m not much of a dancer."
Angus, unwilling to miss such a chance, eagerly said, "I can teach you. It’s really simple!"
Jinxia shook her head, apologetically replying, "Sorry, I’m not feeling well and don’t really want to dance."
Angus frowned slightly, asking, "Where do you feel unwell? Did the boat experience earlier make you seasick? I have seasickness pills; do you need any?"
Jinxia shook her head again, gently refusing, "Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t need them; I’ve already got some medicine."
Just then, another crew member called out, "The barbecue is ready, come on over and eat!"
Jinxia acknowledged and took the opportunity to leave the area.
Angus was left by the bonfire with the crew member, who smiled knowingly and said, "See, I told you she’s not into your type. She’s turned you down several times!"
Angus slightly raised his head, unwilling to be made a fool of, and huffed, "You out-of-shape old men wouldn’t understand. She clearly has some interest in me."
The crew member shook his head, "Angus, confidence is good, but don’t be blindly confident. She clearly isn’t into your type. Face the harsh reality."
Angus didn’t bother replying and left.
The crew member watched him head back to Jinxia, again trying to warm up to her, and muttered to himself, "Ah, young people..."
All night, Angus was attentively caring towards Jinxia, showing great concern.
At first, Jinxia thought this was typical foreign hospitality and didn’t overthink it.
But as the bonfire party was about to end, Angus produced a bouquet of flowers he’d picked from nearby shrubs in front of everyone, and seeing the crew’s knowing expressions, it finally clicked for her —
Angus had feelings for her!
