Hugo’s smile twitched. He cleared his throat and glanced at Collins with the corner of his eyes.

Hugo side eyed Collins again, betrayal dripping from his soul.

Hugo even began to feel a little nervous. What if she knew all about his embarrassing moments and experiences?

Had he exposed his identity as the Ass Dragon?!

Still, on the outside, he forced a charming grin. "Well, I hope he at least mentioned that I’m also ridiculously handsome."

Celine laughed. "Mmm, he might’ve left that part out too."

Hugo blinked. Good Lord, Collins had been up to no good! This was slander!

Still, he had to focus. He finally had Celine’s attention now and needed to move further.

Now, he just needed to keep the conversation rolling, get her comfortable, and...

Collins jumped in. He used his broad shoulders to completely block Hugo’s view and retained Celine’s attention.

"ANYWAY," Collins cut in loudly, grabbing Celine’s arm and dragging her away. "We gotta catch up, Celine. Let’s go."

Hugo stood there, stunned into silence. He stared at their backs and swallowed the smooth words he had been about to say.

His eye twitched as realization sank in.

Collins. Blocked him!

On purpose.

Hugo watched helplessly as Collins escorted his gorgeous cousin away, leaving him standing there like a fool.

The betrayal. The audacity.

Hugo clenched his jaw.

This was war.

He wasn’t going to give up for the third time!
