Supreme Dragon Lord-Chapter 335: Giant Serpent!
Ten kilometers from Guiyuan Academy, a spatial channel suddenly appeared, and Long Chen emerged from within. He collapsed powerlessly to the ground, another mouthful of blood spurting from the corner of his mouth.
He had almost grown numb to the intense pain wracking his body, but the turmoil in his heart was far more unbearable. Dong Xuan’s tragic death lingered in his mind, impossible to shake off. And he had been powerless to save him! Guilt flooded his heart, and he blamed Dong Xuan’s death entirely on himself. He knew it all too well; if he hadn’t decided to cause a ruckus in Xuanyue Valley, Dong Xuan could still be hiding there. He wouldn’t have had to come out and die. This was all the result of Dong Xuan trying to save him. Every time the thought surfaced, it felt like a thorn pricking his heart, causing him immense anguish.
"Brother Dong, it’s all my fault!" Long Chen’s eyes were bloodshot as he clenched his fists, his heart filled with rage. "It’s all my fault! If you hadn’t tried to save me, you wouldn’t have ended up like this while I get to cling to life. This is a debt I, Long Chen, owe you! I, Long Chen, swear here and now that someday, I will step into Xuanyue Valley again, take that dog’s head, and wash the valley with blood to avenge you and all the other Disciples of Guiyuan Academy! Brother Dong, rest assured! I will accomplish the task you entrusted to me—not just for you or for Guiyuan Academy, but for myself as well."
Long Chen’s gaze was resolute, and an intensely cold aura emanated from him. Though he hadn’t spent much time with Guiyuan Academy, he had felt the warmth and welcome from its disciples, and it was the academy that had reached out to help him in his time of distress. As a disciple himself, avenging the academy was his unshirkable duty.
He endured the severe pain and slowly climbed to his feet, stowing the Space Teleportation Treasure Box. Luckily, he had managed to sustain the spatial channel’s operation until the very end; otherwise, he likely wouldn’t have made it here. His current condition wouldn’t allow him to use the Treasure Box to escape now, so he didn’t dare risk it.
After a brief rest, Long Chen started moving. He knew that after causing such a commotion in Xuanyue Valley, its people would certainly not let the matter rest. Even if he fled to the ends of the earth, they would hunt him down. The most important thing now was to evade their pursuit. Only then would he have a chance to return and exact his revenge.
Long Chen kept moving without pause. He paid close attention to his trail of blood, not wanting the disciples of Xuanyue Valley to track him. To mislead them, he deliberately left bloodstains leading in another direction before heading off the opposite way.
After traveling a great distance, he felt parched and famished. His vision blurred, and his body was extremely weak. He had just reached the bank of a small river and was about to stoop for a drink when he collapsed into the water and lost consciousness. And so, Long Chen drifted downstream with the current.
「Meanwhile.」
The disciples of Xuanyue Valley advanced tirelessly and at top speed. Finally, after a great deal of effort, they arrived within a ten-kilometer radius of his last known location.
"Search carefully!" the lead disciple of Xuanyue Valley commanded in a deep voice. "Don’t miss a single corner! We must find that beast! If we fail, we’ll be the ones to suffer!"
"Yes!" the group of Xuanyue Valley disciples responded in unison. They knew all too well that their Valley Master, Yue Wuhen, was still in a rage. If they failed to find Long Chen, they would likely lose their heads. Consequently, every disciple took this task with the utmost seriousness, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.
During their thorough search, several disciples found bloodstains on the ground. "We found something!" one of them reported immediately. "The bloodstains haven’t dried yet, and there are plenty of footprints. They must belong to that guy."
Upon hearing the news, all the Xuanyue Valley disciples immediately rushed toward the location. Seeing the bloodstains, their leader said coldly, "The kid is seriously injured; he couldn’t have gotten far. After him!"
With his words, the disciples swarmed in the direction of the blood and footprints. Little did they know, the trail they were so confidently following was merely a decoy Long Chen had left for them.
An unknown amount of time passed as Long Chen floated in the river before finally washing up on a bank. He remained unconscious, his earlier injuries having been far too severe. While he was out, a black and white radiance enveloped his body, and his wounds began to heal at a rate visible to the naked eye.
HISS...
Just then, the sound of a hissing snake arose. Nearby, a giant red serpent was slithering slowly toward him. The serpent’s eyes were fixed on Long Chen as if he were prey.
At that moment, having been unconscious for a long time, Long Chen’s fingers twitched and his eyelids began to flutter. He slowly regained consciousness and opened his eyes.
But in the next second, he froze. His nerves grew taut, and he remained completely still.
Right above him, the giant serpent was coiled, staring down at him. Its tongue flicked in and out rapidly. A powerful, daunting majesty emanated from its body. An ordinary person, or even an expert of the War Ancestor Realm, would have been scared witless by the sight.
Long Chen’s heart sank. Just my rotten luck.
He lay motionless on the ground, his eyes vigilantly fixed on the serpent, ready to react at any moment. The giant serpent stared back at him, then opened its gaping maw, poised to swallow him whole
