Chapter 434: Chapter 299 Earth’s Threat_2

The fusion success rate was so low!

If it were above 80%, even if it didn’t reach his desired 90%, he could have given it a try.

But with only 69%, it was far below expectations.

The fusion success rate given by the Wanxiang Star Pupil also represented compatibility, indicating the Wanxiang Star Pupil did not recommend this Alien Species.

"Could the clone avatar be flawed?" Ji Xinghuo speculated, "Or is it that the Wanxiang Star Pupil won’t follow the avatar, unable to absorb Spiritual Origin Ability?"

In either case, he wouldn’t proceed with the fusion.

The fusion success rate for Qing Hong was even lower; using the Clone Twin was also out of the question.

"Let’s keep it for now." Ji Xinghuo stored away the Alien Species, "I’ll ask Ren Mian and Man Ying later if they’re interested. If big sister and others pass the Star Realm Department assessment, they might choose the ’masses’ professional template."

After flying all day, he returned to Peach Blossom Valley at star night.

"I’m back."

Ren Mian was in the greenhouse studying plants. Seeing Ji Xinghuo fly in, she smiled and said, "You were gone longer than usual this time."

"I ran into some trouble," Ji Xinghuo replied.

"Can you talk about it?"

"Of course." Ji Xinghuo was about to discuss the situation with her, first letting Qing Hong off to play with Xiao Kui, then sitting down on a wicker chair in front of the fireplace on the first floor of the wood cabin, with Ren Mian naturally sitting on his lap.

Ji Xinghuo hugged her waist, inhaling her fresh scent, and asked, "Ren Jie, do you know about the Qianyuan Association?"

Prior to this, he hadn’t mentioned his mission at the Sword Bureau to Ren Mian due to confidentiality rules, but Ren Jie could make Deputy Director Zhou comply with just a letter, which showed that even though she wasn’t a member of the Sword Bureau, she was certainly trustworthy.

The Qianyuan Association involved national and even the entire Earth’s safety; this was of paramount importance, and he definitely had to discuss it with Ren Jie first.

"Qianyuan Association?" Ren Mian shook her head, "I haven’t heard of it."

Ji Xinghuo went over the events he knew in detail, including the encounter with Shen Yucheng today.

After listening, Ren Mian’s expression grew serious.

"There is such a secretive organization lurking on Earth," she said incredulously, "If it’s as Shen Yucheng claimed, and the Qianyuan Association has control of a Star Gate, their plot must surely involve the whole Earth."

"Yes," Ji Xinghuo nodded. "I also think the Dagon people don’t have such capability; it’s more likely that the mastermind behind the scenes are the Winged People."

He thought of the Bloodthorn City at the Sky Feather Royal Court.

The lord of Bloodthorn City, "Mother Bloodthorn," one of the most trusted subordinates of Queen Lanyi, had maintained neutrality between the Beiluo Shimen Clan and Earth for over a century. However, she had subtly shown hostility towards Earth starting a decade ago.

Could this also be related?

"The Winged People feel that Earth poses a threat to the Sky Feather Royal Court," Ren Mian mused. "Could they no longer restrain themselves from taking action?"

"That’s possible."

Ji Xinghuo also harbored this guess.

In the galaxy, how many planets had given birth to civilized races remains unknown to this day, as does the condition for activating Star Gates, with neither Earth nor the neighboring civilizations certain of the reasons.

The Galaxy Civilizations that had accessed the Star Realm through Star Gates had varying natural talents and technological levels, some primitive and others advanced.

Typically, Galaxy Civilizations are divided into seven levels.

The lowest is a First Level civilization, which has created language and script and has a basic grasp of agricultural production technology.

The standard for a Second Level civilization is the development of industrial technology, epitomized by the steam engine and progressing to internal combustion engines.

A Third Level civilization enters the age of electricity and information.

A Fourth Level civilization has mastered controllable nuclear fusion, fully exploited the resources of their mother star, and begun space travel.

Earth was a Third Level civilization before the activation of the Star Gate and, over a century, leapfrogged into the Fourth Level.

It is currently evolving towards a Fifth Level civilization.

The standards for a Fifth Level civilization involve arbitrary interplanetary travel within a star system, the initial terraforming of planets, and the full utilization of the star’s energy.

The higher Sixth and Seventh Level civilizations involve the Star Realm and Ether technology and are beyond Earth’s reach.

This standard system is vague and doesn’t apply to all civilizations.

For example, Earth Abyss Star.

The Crystal Elite Clan’s Ether Technology had reached the standards of a Fifth Level civilization, but in terms of resource development on their Mother Star, they were inferior to the Fourth Level civilization, Earth.

Most of the Galaxy civilizations that had opened Star Gates were below that of a Third Level civilization.

Like Earth, which was already a Third Level civilization before the opening of its Star Gate and quickly reached Fourth Level, such races were an absolute minority, one in a hundred.

Thousand Peak Abyss Forest harbored eight alien civilizations.

Before the Earth Star Gate was opened, the most technologically advanced was the Beiluo Shimen Clan; they were a Fourth Level civilization, yet their technology had stagnated for many years without significant advancement.

Latterly, Earth had activated its Star Gate, and after repelling the invasion and recapturing the Star Gate, it burst forth with tremendous potential.

In just a few decades, it reached the Fourth Level civilization.

Whether in terms of technology, population, talents, or culture, economy, and politics, all were stronger than the Beiluo Shimen Clan.

The two races faced off for over a hundred years; initially, Earth was at a disadvantage defensively, and in every Star Realm Frontline conflict, humanity suffered losses. However, the situation gradually reversed, and now Earth had gained the upper hand and subtly had the momentum to crush the Beiluo Shimen Clan.

On Earth, a scholar proposed that humanity should keep a low profile.

He pointed out that the biggest threat to humans was not the Beiluo Shimen Clan, but the Winged People of the Sky Feather Royal Court.

Many agreed with this viewpoint, and its supporters were called "Endurists." However, Earth was not united, and the will of hundreds of countries could not be coordinated, despite the "Endurists’" continuous lobbying, leading to no corresponding policies being issued.

Many opposed the policy of endurance, believing that the potential of Earth and humanity could not fundamentally be concealed.

But they also acknowledged the need to guard against the Winged People.

The best approach was to concentrate resources on a few highly talented Mutants to quickly create a Shepherd Star Saint, which in turn could contend against the Sky Feather Royal Court.

Those who supported this view were called "Saint Creators."

Both policy viewpoints had numerous supporters and had been the subject of endless debates for years, yet no country had ever implemented them.

Ji Xinghuo, as a child, leaned towards "Endurism"; later, as he grew up, because he had a great chance of becoming a Mutant, he began to incline towards supporting "Saint Creationism."

Of course, he was very aware that his change of thought was largely because "his situation decided his thoughts."

Because he could potentially be a beneficiary of Saint Creationism.

As of now, he supported neither viewpoint.

He didn’t oppose them either.

Whether it was "Endurism" or "Saint Creation," the prerequisite was that Earth had to be unified to implement it. Endurism required waiting until a technological breakthrough to become a Fifth Level civilization; Saint Creation needed the birth of a Shepherd Star Saint; both policies could take as little as a hundred years or as long as two to three centuries.

The war to unify Earth could cause tremendous losses and take even longer.

However, before that, Ji Xinghuo believed he might already be striving to become a Shepherd Star Saint. Once successful, the Sky Feather Royal Court would no longer pose a threat to Earth.

With a Shepherd Star Saint guarding, the Winged People would not dare reach out to Earth easily.

Yet, having now learned that the Qianyuan Association might be manipulated by the Winged People behind the scenes, Ji Xinghuo realized he might not catch up.

It was very likely that, for many years, the Sky Feather Royal Court had been scheming, extending its black hand into Earth to stifle this civilization that could shake the Winged People’s rule.

It started at least fifteen years ago, or even earlier!

Ren Mian reached the same conclusion.

After a long discussion, Ren Mian said, "I can’t leave now, as I need to prepare for ascending to Legendary status and to replan the evolution path around the plant archetype. Returning to Earth wouldn’t be of help; you’re in much the same position, but make sure to report this information about the Qianyuan Association to the Sword Bureau promptly, so the country can guard against it."

"Then I’ll rush back to Earth first thing in the morning." Ji Xinghuo didn’t hesitate.

The two spent an intimate night together. freёnovelkiss.com

At dawn, Ji Xinghuo immediately set off.

Before leaving, Ren Mian took out the batch of resources prepared in advance, asking him to deliver them to Chi Zhonglin and Jiangnan Caiyi.

Ji Xinghuo picked a thousand Sky Blue Fruits into his Dimension Stomach, took along Qing Hong, said farewell to Ren Mian, and flew out of Peach Blossom Valley. He did not immediately return to Earth, but first went shopping in Eternal Day City, then headed East.

After flying all through day and night, the next morning, he saw an enormous tabletop mountain on the horizon ahead.

Sky Falling Cliff had arrived.

Ji Xinghuo landed on the ground, dispensed with the Highlander disguise, reverted back to his human appearance, then took off again at a slower speed and flew up Sky Falling Cliff.
