Supreme Electromagnetic Tyrant-Chapter 714 - 433: Naming Doomsday
Chapter 714: Chapter 433: Naming Doomsday
"Annihilation Jin?" Ji Xinghuo pondered thoughtfully.
That name, of course, referred to himself.
The True Dragon people placed great importance on surnames, using them in social interactions to distinguish between noble bloodlines and social status. Sometimes, just a surname was enough to discern one’s class and origin, even their strength.
If one were a member of the True Dragon Family, they would have a surname from birth, regardless of the family’s size.
Yet, over 95% of the True Dragon people did not have a family.
Those among the True Dragon people, who were commoners, were born with only a given name and no surname.
There were three ways for them to acquire a surname: the first was by being selected as the Dragon Lord, which was the most common method; the second was to embark on the path of a Dragon Warrior, advancing to the Fifth Rank to earn a surname; the third was to join the True Dragon Family, the family head bestowing a surname upon one.
Ji Xinghuo belonged to the first category.
"Now that I am a Dragon Lord, I can have a surname?" There were also two instances where a Dragon Lord would receive a surname.
If they already had a surname before becoming a Dragon Lord, even if it did not match their Dragon Blood lineage, there was no need for a change.
Of course, a Dragon Lord could still opt to change it if they wished.
However, most Dragon Lords would not do so because changing one’s surname from that of the family would mean breaking ties.
The other instance was if one originally had no family and became a Dragon Lord, adopting their Dragon Vein as their surname.
Nearly every founder of a family had risen in this manner.
"Surname Annihilation?"
Ji Xinghuo felt it sounded a bit odd. The name Annihilation Jin was surely majestic and fit the naming style of the True Dragon people, and anyone could tell at a listen that he possessed an Annihilation Dragon.
Merely by his name, he could intimidate a great number of people.
He had never thought about what surname he would take, but the Cobalt Titanium Dragon King had immediately applied "Annihilation" to his name and even informed Titanium Cobalt Qingwei.
This amounted to declaring to the world that he was the Dragon Lord of Annihilation.
The so-called banquet was probably the Dragon King’s arrangement, yet Ji Xinghuo did not understand the Dragon King’s purpose.
"Ask Sister Lan."
Ji Xinghuo took the invitation and went up to the top floor, where Titanium Cobalt Lan was cultivating. He waited for a moment before Titanium Cobalt Lan came out of the Cultivation Room.
"What is it?"
Titanium Cobalt Lan asked casually as she sat down opposite Ji Xinghuo. Her gaze suddenly paused slightly as her eyes met Ji Xinghuo’s. An inexplicable thought emerged in her heart: the man in front of her was really handsome, radiating a masculine charm. If...
"I received an invitation," Ji Xinghuo noticed Titanium Cobalt Lan’s gaze seemed adrift and said curiously, "Sister Lan?"
"Ah?"
Titanium Cobalt Lan finally came back to her senses, feeling a wave of embarrassment within her. Why would she think such a thing? But she masked it well, maintaining her composure, "Qingwei’s invitation? What does she invite you for?"
Ji Xinghuo handed over the invitation.
Titanium Cobalt Lan glanced at it and frowned, saying, "Annihilation Jin? Why does she call you Annihilation Jin?" She abruptly looked up at Ji Xinghuo, asking somewhat excitedly, "Did you hatch the Annihilation Dragon?"
"Yes." Ji Xinghuo nodded.
"The dragon?"
From Ji Xinghuo’s chest, a dark golden light emerged, swiftly expanding over his head to reveal a Dark Gold Divine Dragon.
The Annihilation Dragon coiled elegantly in the spacious top-floor hall, its wings brushing through the air leaving traces of golden light, its posture as though from a dream.
"It really is the Annihilation Dragon!"
Titanium Cobalt Lan’s eyes shone with excitement as she exclaimed in admiration.
Among the seven Divine Dragon Species, the Annihilation Dragon was the rarest and most mysterious. This was the first time Titanium Cobalt Lan had seen an Annihilation Dragon in person and it looked exactly as described in the records. She sensed a destructive aura emanating from the not-so-large body of the dragon.
"You really hatched it!" Titanium Cobalt Lan’s gaze returned to Ji Xinghuo, feeling it unbelievable.
Uncle Ping had clearly said it was a dead egg.
The Titanium Cobalt Family had been established for over ten thousand seasons. Generations of Dragon Kings and Dragon Masters had studied it countless times. Countless people had seen this Annihilation Dragon Egg, yet no one ever thought of hatching it.
But Ji Xinghuo, having seen the dragon egg just once, had resolutely chosen it and successfully hatched it.
Though she didn’t know by what means Ji Xinghuo had done it, the fact spoke for itself.
Ji Xinghuo now possessed an Annihilation Dragon!
"Just luck." Ji Xinghuo said with an easy smile. Unbeknownst to him, his smile had a striking impact in Titanium Cobalt Lan’s eyes. The poise and confidence he emanated from having things under control, along with the ability to create miracles, left Titanium Cobalt Lan thoroughly captivated.
Titanium Cobalt Lan took a deep breath, sensing something was slightly amiss with herself.
She forcefully brought her focus back to the invitation, saying, "How did Qingwei know you hatched the Annihilation Dragon?"
"His Majesty told her," Ji Xinghuo replied.
"No wonder."
Titanium Cobalt Lan nodded, looking at the words on the invitation. Suddenly she smiled, saying, "You can attend the banquet without worry, it surely isn’t anything bad." As Ji Xinghuo was about to inquire further, Titanium Cobalt Lan’s butler came knocking and held up an invitation as well.
"Qingwei also invited me. We will go together when the time comes." Titanium Cobalt Lan showed the invitation.
Ji Xinghuo asked, "What did you guess, Sister Lan?"
"Nothing, just a normal banquet." Titanium Cobalt Lan looked relaxed as she admired the Annihilation Dragon. "This is your dragon. It possesses such great strength right after being born, truly worthy of the Divine Dragon Species! Have you named it yet?"
Ji Xinghuo shook his head, "Not yet."
Having hatched it on Black Ring Star, he immediately rushed back to Titanium Ring City and had not managed to name the Annihilation Dragon.
"Let’s name it now. Choose a majestic name that befits the reputation of the Annihilation Dragon," Titanium Cobalt Lan suggested.
Ji Xinghuo pondered, unsure of what name would be appropriate. His gaze through the floor-to-ceiling window fell on the Dragon Flags fluttering throughout Titanium Ring City, each embroidered with the image of the Dragon of the End, which looked extremely similar to the Annihilation Dragon. Suddenly, an idea struck him.
The scene of the Annihilation Dragon breaking free from its shell made him suspect that it had a profound connection with the Dragon of the End.
Ji Xinghuo thought of the legend of the Dragon of the End.
When it awakened from its slumber of millions of years, the world would face its doomsday. It would destroy the Star Realm and end all civilizations in the Milky Way.
"Doomsday,"
Ji Xinghuo said.
"What?" Titanium Cobalt Lan did not catch on immediately.
Ji Xinghuo, looking at the Annihilation Dragon above him, repeated, "Doomsday. That’s the name I’ve chosen for it."
"Does it mean to bring about doomsday for our enemies?" Titanium Cobalt Lan considered the name and nodded with a smile, "That’s a good name, fitting for the Annihilation Dragon." She addressed the dragon in midair, "From now on, you are Doomsday."
Doomsday flapped its wings lightly, joyfully circling around.
"Perhaps not just for our enemies..." Ji Xinghuo thought to himself.
He let Doomsday play with Titanium Cobalt Lan for a while, satisfying her curiosity about the Annihilation Dragon, before he let Doomsday return to become a tattoo.
Night descended.
Ji Xinghuo left his home.
Titanium Cobalt Lan had changed into a neat battle outfit, her half-blue, half-black hair tied up, giving her a dashing and spirited look.
"Why are you dressed like this, Sister Lan?" Ji Xinghuo was puzzled. This did not look like attire for attending a banquet but rather for getting into a fight.
Titanium Cobalt Lan surveyed Ji Xinghuo from head to toe, noting that he was still dressed in his usual tight-fitting light armor with tantalum-silicon battle armor over it, his physique robust and proportionate. His long hair, once styled to mimic the Deserted People, was now cut short, and his face was clean-shaven, giving him a neat and fresh appearance.
"Very good, very handsome," she complimented.
"Let’s go."
Titanium Cobalt Lan did not answer Ji Xinghuo’s question but took off flying ahead, and Ji Xinghuo had no choice but to follow her swiftly out of Upper Titanium Ring City.
The two of them descended toward Lower Titanium Ring City.
Today was the last day of the Dragon of the End Festival; Lower Titanium Ring City was brightly lit, people indulging in wild merrymaking, with the entire city immersed in a festive atmosphere.
However, almost every moment, individuals unable to suppress their inner destructive urges began fighting or smashing things. Dragon Guards were busy all over the city quelling troublemakers.
A moment later.
Ji Xinghuo and Titanium Cobalt Lan flew over much of the city and arrived at a lake district.
This was a man-made lake, oval-shaped, about ten kilometers long at each end and roughly five kilometers wide. There were few buildings along the lake, mostly open spaces, with platforms resembling viewing decks built along the mid-section of the lake’s sides, where many visitors were currently taking a stroll along the shore.
"We’ll go down there."
Titanium Cobalt Lan pointed to the largest cluster of buildings by the lake, which included a generously sized, multi-story building with a broad field of view.
This was the location of the banquet held by Titanium Cobalt Qingwei.
From a distance, one could see the top of the building had been transformed into a spacious terrace, beautifully arranged, resplendent with grandeur. Square tables were lined up in a row, each guest enjoying a table all to themselves, attended by waitstaff.
All the attendants were True Dragon people, handsome men and beautiful women, dressed in uniform.
Ji Xinghuo scanned with electromagnetic induction.
Many guests had already arrived, including many acquaintances who were legendary geniuses who had participated in the Destruction Dragon Festival, as well as some Dragon Lords of the Fifth and Sixth Rank, their magnetic fields unusual and energy fluctuations extremely strong.
Guests were enjoying fine foods and beverages while admiring the lakeside night view in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
The two descended.
Their arrival drew the attention of many, turning heads in their direction.
"Aunt Lan."
A crisp voice called out.
Soon after, a graceful figure approached the two.
She was about 1.7 meters tall, not particularly tall among True Dragon people women, but she possessed a stunning beauty that dazzled onlookers, her skin snowy-white, eyes like crescents, her silver hair elaborately styled into a complex design, dressed in a luxurious yet practical long silvery-blue dress, her demeanor pure yet noble, as if a celestial being had descended.
Ji Xinghuo inwardly nodded.
She was truly the most favored princess of the Titanium Cobalt Family, clearly displaying the bloodline of the Titanium Cobalt Dragon King, perfect as if crafted by the heavens, her beauty and figure rivaling both Man Ying and Ye Zhen, each magnificent in their own right.
"Qingwei," Titanium Cobalt Lan responded with a smile, her relationship with Titanium Cobalt Qingwei obviously very close and affectionate.
"I’ve been waiting for Aunt Lan for so long. You’ve finally arrived, welcome!"
Titanium Cobalt Qingwei took Titanium Cobalt Lan’s hand, her gaze shifting to Ji Xinghuo, her face revealing surprise. Her eyes sparked with excitement, unsure as she asked, "Are you Jin?"
