Supreme Hunter of Beautiful Souls-Chapter 98: The first class is about to begin
The ceremony finally came to an end, and the large amphitheater gradually began to empty. Some students were still murmuring about Altharion's speech, while others were discussing the professors being presented. Kael, however, didn't care about the surrounding conversations. He was more focused on the principal's final words.
"Those who fail... will be forgotten."
A warning? A threat? It didn't matter. He already knew how this kind of place worked. Anyone who couldn't keep up would be crushed.
Amelia, beside him, let out a tired sigh as they walked back to the penthouse. "That speech was more intimidating than motivating..."
Kael just shrugged. "He just told the truth. This place is not for the faint-hearted."
She frowned, but didn't reply.
When they reached the dormitory, Amelia went straight to her bed, throwing herself on the soft mattress and sinking into it. "I just want to sleep after all this..."
Kael, on the other hand, had other plans.
Closing the door to his own room, he sat down in the chair next to the desk and took a deep breath. "Time to check the system."

'After all, it seems that the conquest of the Soul of Eve really didn't work or was interrupted... I can't see anything different in my Status...' Kael muttered, sitting on the edge of the bed.
'I have so much to do now that I'm here...' Kael lay down on the bed, letting out a long sigh as he stared at the ceiling. The room was silent, except for the distant sound of the wind outside. Even with all the exhaustion of the day, his mind couldn't switch off.
There was something he was still thinking about, something about some of Eva's words from a while ago. "She's excited to meet you"
He closed his eyes for a moment. It wasn't hard to imagine who Eva was talking about, Sylphie... A distant memory popped into his mind.
A little black elf with white hair and big, bright green eyes, looking at him curiously.
He could remember his own childhood but some slowly faded as he grew up, but Sylphie was one of the few memories that remained intact. When she was just a year old, she was one of the first people he met outside of Elion Forest. Even then, when he barely understood the world around him, he felt comfortable with her around.
But time separated them.
And now...
"When will we meet?" he muttered to himself, still staring at the ceiling... He closed his eyes for a few seconds and... slept.
Kael didn't know exactly when he fell asleep, but when he opened his eyes, the first thing he smelled was the delicious smell of food.
He blinked a few times, still groggy, before sitting up in bed. Sunlight was already streaming in through the large roof windows, illuminating the room with a soft glow.
The aroma of fried eggs, toasted bread and something that sounded like fresh coffee filled the room. He frowned and got out of bed, putting on some sort of shirt before leaving the room.
As he entered the spacious kitchen, he saw Amelia wearing an apron, focused on preparing breakfast. Her hair was tied up in an awkward bun, and she was humming softly as she turned something in a frying pan.
Kael crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe, watching her for a moment.
"Since when do you cook?" he asked, his voice still a little hoarse from sleep.
Amelia turned around quickly, almost knocking over a pot of spices. "Ah! Good morning, Kael!" She took a deep breath and tried to regain her composure. "I've always known how to cook. Don't you think?"
"Honestly? No."
She grimaced. "Very funny. But since we're living together, I thought it would be nice to have something to eat in the morning."
Kael looked at the table, where there was a plate ready with eggs, bread and some cut fruit. There was even juice and coffee.
"Where did all this come from?" He asked, pulling up a chair and sitting down.
Amelia turned back to the stove and stirred the pan once more before answering. "Apparently, the penthouse has a well-stocked pantry. It has everything we need to cook, and I think they restock it regularly."
Kael picked up a slice of bread and took a bite. It was crunchy and warm. He chewed slowly, watching Amelia finish cooking and put more food on the plates.
She sat down opposite him and helped herself, finally relaxing a little.
"So... did you sleep well?" She asked, picking up a piece of fruit.
Kael shrugged. "Better than I expected."
She nodded and for a moment, the silence between them was comfortable. Only the sound of cutlery and food being eaten filled the space.
Until Umbra decided to speak up.
"What a lovely domestic scene! You already look like a newlywed couple!" The shadow mocked, floating around the table.
Kael sighed and ignored Umbra, while Amelia, of course, had no idea what was going on.
"Well, if you want to eat in the morning, I can keep cooking." Amelia commented casually.
Kael looked at her for a moment before shrugging. "If you want, I won't complain."
She smiled. "Fine. But next time, you help."
TRIIINNGGG!
The sound echoed through the penthouse like a metallic ring resounding through the corridors. A distinctive noise, loud enough to be heard anywhere in the dormitory.
Kael frowned and looked around, trying to identify where the noise was coming from. "What the hell was that?"
Amelia, who was finishing her coffee, looked up and sighed. "That means it's 30 minutes before classes start."
He arched an eyebrow. "Do they really need a system like that?"
"With an academy this big and full of students, yes." She stood up, taking the plates to the sink. "If we didn't have a reminder like that, a lot of people would be late."
Kael stretched, finishing his coffee in a single gulp before getting up too. "Right, then I guess we'd better get ready."
Amelia nodded and was already heading towards the bedroom when she stopped and looked him up and down. "And please try to look presentable. First impressions matter."
Kael just gave an amused half-smile. "I'll try."
Amelia rolled her eyes and disappeared down the corridor.
Umbra, who was watching the whole scene, floated up next to Kael with a mischievous grin. "So, you really are looking like a couple now. Breakfast together, morning nagging... the next step is showering together?"
Kael picked up a knife from the table and pointed it at the shadow. "I swear, one day I'll figure out how to stab you."
...
Kael put on his academy uniform - an elegant black suit with silver details and a silver crest on the chest that represented Azalith. He adjusted the short cloak slung over his shoulder and left the room, finding Amelia already ready, fixing her silver hair in front of a mirror.
"You even managed to look civilized." She commented, casting him an appraising glance.
Kael gave a half-smile. "And you managed not to scream when you saw me again. Progress."

She huffed, crossing her arms. "Let's just get going before we're late."
The two of them left the dormitory and made their way through the academy's corridors, which were already bustling. Hundreds of students were walking towards their classrooms, some hurrying, others chatting animatedly.
Kael noticed that whenever they passed someone, their gazes would wander. Some students whispered among themselves, while others simply moved out of the way.
He sighed. "It seems that yesterday's scene is still fresh in everyone's memory."
"Of course it is." Amelia replied. "You smashed a student against the wall in front of half the academy. Do you really think people would forget that so easily?"
"He deserved it." Kael shrugged.
"I'm not disagreeing." She said, looking at him. "But now you have a reputation. And, honestly, that can be useful."
Kael just raised an eyebrow, but didn't comment.
The corridors finally opened up into a huge inner courtyard, where a staircase led to different wings of the academy. Amelia consulted a small communication crystal that served as a guide for the students.
"The first class is in the Arcane Wing, on the second floor. Fundamental Magic Room."
"Good. Let's get on with it."
They climbed the stairs and followed the flow of students until they found the designated room. As soon as they entered, they realized that the room was huge, with several rows of seats arranged in a semicircle around a raised platform where the teacher would stand.
Kael and Amelia chose seats at the back, to avoid attracting even more attention. Even so, some students still glanced at Kael, whispering among themselves.
Umbra, invisible to everyone, floated next to him, whispering in an amused tone. "I like this fame you're gaining. The mysterious and violent newcomer who crushed an arrogant nobleman. There's a certain charm to it."
Kael ignored it, focusing on the entrance to the room, where a tall man in dark blue robes and an ornate staff entered.
The first teacher had arrived. The first lesson was about to begin.
