Supreme Taming Authority-Chapter 57: Xian Yu Shares the Sect’s Selection Method
"Master Yue Lian is at Nascent Soul realm peak, right?" Xian Tiandi asked.
"Yes," Yu’er confirmed. "She’s the strongest publicly known cultivator in the sect. Though there are rumors of old monsters hidden away in seclusion. Some say the sect has one or two Spirit Transformation realm ancestors who only emerge during true crises."
Xian Long’s eyes went wide. "Spirit Transformation realm? That’s the peak of the Red Leaf Kingdom’s power, isn’t it?"
"It is," Yu’er said seriously. "There are only a handful of confirmed Spirit Transformation cultivators in the entire kingdom. They’re the ultimate deterrent that keeps the major sects from open warfare. If even one of them made a move, it could reshape the entire political landscape."
Xian Tiandi filed away that information carefully. In his past life, he’d eventually learned about those hidden powerhouses. They’d emerged during the final chaos, but by then it had been too late to prevent the catastrophe.
"So basically," Xian Long summarized, "be strong, be talented, and don’t be a jerk."
"That’s oversimplifying it dramatically, but yes, essentially," Yu’er confirmed with a slight laugh.
"I can do that," Xian Long said confidently, nodding to himself. "Strong, talented, not a jerk. Easy."
"With your mid-stage Qi Refinement cultivation at thirteen years old, you should qualify for Outer Court Disciple status," Yu’er said encouragingly. "That’s actually quite good for your age. Most applicants are older and at similar or lower cultivation levels."
"And Big Brother?" Xian Long asked, turning to Xian Tiandi.
"At peak Qi Condensation realm and sixteen years old?" Yu’er smiled. "He’ll almost certainly be accepted as an Inner Court Disciple. That’s exceptionally rare. Most people his age are still at Qi Refinement realm, if they’ve started cultivating at all."
Xian Tiandi shook his head with genuine amusement. "You’re going to give your future sect elders so many headaches, Long. I can already see it."
"Good!" Xian Long declared proudly, puffing out his chest. "Keeps them on their toes! Prevents them from getting complacent!"
Yu’er laughed despite herself, the sound bright and carefree. "You really are impossible, little brother. Absolutely impossible."
"Wait," Xian Tiandi said, suddenly remembering something important. "Yu’er, the trials are supposed to be in two days, correct?."
"Actually," Yu’er’s expression grew more serious, "the trials were originally scheduled for two weeks from now. But I heard from some of the sect disciples earlier today that they’ve been moved forward. They’re starting tomorrow instead."
"Tomorrow?" Xian Long’s eyes widened. "That’s so soon! Why the change?"
Yu’er’s face clouded slightly. "Because of what happened at the Crimson Ruins. Because of Liu Qian’s betrayal and the Four Spirits Sect revealing themselves. The sect leadership held an emergency meeting last night after Master and the grand elder returned."
She leaned forward, her voice dropping to a more serious tone. "They’re worried. If the Four Spirits Sect has been infiltrating for years, if they have multiple traitors at the elder level, then the kingdom is in more danger than anyone realized. The sect needs to strengthen its numbers quickly. Get new disciples identified, tested, and into training as fast as possible."
"That makes sense," Xian Tiandi said thoughtfully. "More disciples means more eyes watching for traitors. More people to help with increased security. More strength to face whatever the Four Spirits Sect is planning."
"Exactly," Yu’er confirmed. "Master told me they’re also bringing in disciples from all the regional branches for additional training. The entire sect is mobilizing. They’re treating this like we’re preparing for war."
The room fell silent for a moment as the weight of that statement settled over them. War. Not just isolated incidents or random attacks, but actual organized conflict between sects.
Xian Long looked between his siblings, worry creeping into his expression. "Is it really that serious? Will there actually be a war?"
"Maybe," Yu’er admitted honestly. "The Four Spirits Sect has been planning something for a long time. Liu Qian said they’ve been infiltrating for generations. That level of patience and commitment means they’re working toward something big. Something that requires incredible preparation."
Xian Tiandi’s mind was already working through possibilities, drawing on his knowledge from his past life. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
The chaos that had erupted in the Red Leaf Kingdom. The way sects had fallen one after another to internal betrayal and external attack.
The Four Spirits Sect had been at the center of it all, though the full truth had never been clear to him in that timeline.
’This time will be different,’ he thought with cold determination. ’This time I’ll be strong enough to make a difference. To protect what matters.’
The conversation gradually shifted back to lighter topics, but the serious undertone remained.
Yu’er told more stories about sect life, but now they included mentions of increased security measures and emergency training protocols.
Xian Long asked more questions, but his earlier excitement was tempered with new understanding of the dangers.
"So tomorrow," Xian Long said after a while. "Both Big Brother and I will take the trials tomorrow. Do you think we’ll both pass?"
"Of course you will," Yu’er said with complete confidence. "Big Brother is at peak Qi Condensation realm with a perfect foundation. He saved my life and stood against Golden Core cultivators. The examiners would be fools to reject him. He’ll definitely become an Inner Court Disciple."
She turned to Xian Long with an encouraging smile. "And you’re at mid-stage Qi Refinement at only thirteen years old. That’s above average for your age group. You should easily qualify as an Outer Court Disciple."
"Plus Big Brother has that Inner Court Token from Master," Xian Long added. "That’s basically a guaranteed acceptance, right?"
"Not quite," Yu’er corrected. "The token gives him special consideration, but he still needs to demonstrate his abilities in the trials. The sect can’t just accept people without testing them, even if they come with recommendations. Standards must be maintained."
"We’ll both pass," Xian Tiandi said simply. His tone carried absolute certainty, not arrogance but simple fact.
Xian Long nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah! We’ll show them what the Xian Clan can do!"
