Surviving In Another World With My Three Cups!-Chapter 135: BANQUET DRAMA 1
Lin Xu’s breath caught in her throat as Mo Ying stood behind her, his warmth pressed close.
She forced herself to calm down and looked away, trying to act normal even though her face was completely red.
Mo Ying watched her quietly for a moment, then said, "So... I’m stubborn and annoying. Is that really what you think?"
Lin Xu cleared her throat. "Well... you can be stubborn. And you are annoying sometimes."
He raised an eyebrow. "Sometimes?"
She glared lightly. "Fine. Most of the time."
He chuckled softly, the sound making her heart skip.
They stood there in silence for a moment before Lin Xu finally asked, "Why are you even here? Shouldn’t you be with the guests?"
Mo Ying looked straight at her. "I came for you."
She blinked, caught off guard. "For me? Why?"
Instead of answering, he stepped closer again.
"Close your eyes."
Lin Xu frowned immediately. "Why should I? What are you planning?"
"Just close them," he said calmly.
"No."
"Lin Xu."
"I said no! Every time you say that, something strange happens."
Mo Ying sighed and crossed his arms, tilting his head. "You don’t trust me?"
She puffed her cheeks in annoyance. "That’s not the problem."
"Then close your eyes."
"No."
"Lin Xu."
She huffed loudly. "Fine! Just for a moment. But if you—"
"Close them," he repeated.
She shut her eyes tightly with a small pout. "There! Happy?"
Mo Ying didn’t answer.
Instead, she felt him gently lift her hair and move it aside.
Her heart jumped.
"What are you doing?" she whispered, eyes still closed.
"Don’t open them."
His fingers brushed against her, careful and warm.
Then she felt something cool slide into her hair.
A soft click.
Mo Ying stepped back.
"You can open your eyes now."
Lin Xu opened them slowly and turned toward the mirror.
Her breath hitched.
In her hair sat a beautiful white jade hairpin, glowing softly under the light.
She touched it lightly, stunned. "When... did you..."
Mo Ying looked at her reflection in the mirror and said softly:
"It suits you."
Lin Xu’s face turned bright red.
"You came all the way here... just to put a hairpin on me?"
"Yes," he answered simply. "And because you should look perfect today."
She stared at him, speechless.
Mo Ying leaned a little closer and placed his lips on her. The kiss was simple... you could even call it a peck, yet Lin Xu’s eyes were already closed and her cheeks were already red.
"Let’s go," he said. "If we’re late, they’ll think something happened."
Lin Xu swallowed hard.
"Something did happen," she muttered.
Mo Ying smirked. "And whose fault is that?"
She glared as he laughed.

The banquet had started and Lady Fu arrived with her carriage and guards. She walked towards the main banquet that was held at the outside main yard and was immediately welcomed by the Mo family.
Lady Fu’s presence alone caused everyone to go silent as all eyes were on her. She wore a dark green hanfu, both elegant and beautiful.
She first walked towards Grandmother Mo and Madame Mo as they both greeted her with a smile. She gave Madame Mo a slight nod but hugged Grandmother Mo.
Madame Mo just rolled her eyes in between. Her relationship with Lady Fu wasn’t the best after all; Lady Fu was quite close to Mo Ying’s mother back when she was still alive.
"I hope you have been well, Grandmother?" Lady Fu asked with a sincere smile as the old woman nodded.
"Of course I’ve been. My household is full and lively again since the death of my son. What else could I ever ask for?"
They both laughed and nodded. She then gave Uncle Mo and Aunt Mo a slight nod, though she didn’t say anything to them.
"I knew it, she hates us!" Aunt Mo whispered to her husband.
"Oh keep quiet, you don’t know anything... don’t say what will put you into trouble. I won’t mind marrying another wife if you’re thrown to prison today." Uncle Mo replied back still smiling to Lady Fu.
After greeting the others, Lady Fu then turned towards the three wives present.
San Na, Chu Ming, and Xu Ran.
Bowing slightly was San Na. "San Na, first wife of the general, greets Lady Fu," San Na said, stressing the words first wife so all who have evil intentions would hear.
Lady Fu looked at her and smiled immediately. San Na was indeed a beauty... she had different facial features from people in their palace, so because of that she stood out a lot.
Let’s not forget the beautiful natural pink hanfu she had on. It was of good material and quality but it was more elegant than luxurious. It fitted her perfectly, and Lady Fu was really pleased.
"Oh Lady San, it is good to meet you... as the fairy wife of that little rascal—oh, I meant general—I hope you are taking care of him well. I heard you have a son now... what a blessing for the Mo family. They already have an heir."
She laughed aloud. As soon as those words left her lips, San Na’s face completely brightened as murmurs filled the entire banquet.
Grandma Mo and Mo An exchanged some concerned looks.
"Brother, do you know what it means for Lady Fu to say something like that? She’s already signifying Mo Sheng as Mo Ying’s first heir," Mo Qing said to her brother as she stuffed herself with some nuts.
"This is going to be crazy. I’m pretty sure cousin isn’t aware of this... in fact, where is he and his face-slapping new concubine again?"
While everyone whispered or murmured, Mo Lan, who had just strode in, curved her lips into a smirk.
She had been grounded by her grandmother for these two days. She was going to make sure she caused enough trouble for Lin Xu.
"Aunt Fu, I’m not sure the general is even aware that he has a small male heir," she said, her voice loud enough for everyone to hear.
As soon as she laid eyes on Mo Lan, Grandmother Mo was about to snap as Mo An tried calming the old woman down.
Raising her brows, Lady Fu tried to understand what Mo Lan was trying to say. "Meaning?"
"Meaning that he already has a child who he would happily give the title of heir to, and it’s totally not going to be the child of his first wife!"
