Surviving The Fourth Calamity-Chapter 379 - 178: The War of Annihilation Against the Dwarves
Fran didn’t mind that Adrian wanted to learn time magic—it was always good to pursue new spells, and he planned to learn it himself.
But the fellow had shifted his entire focus to potion alchemy again.
Even though he was still holding blueprints for a magic array, his mind was still preoccupied with potion creation.
No wonder he had only looked at a few diagrams after so long.
Fran snickered. He didn’t plan to settle accounts with Adrian now; he figured it would be easier to just leave him to manage the city’s affairs once construction began.
That would ensure Adrian had no energy left for idle thoughts.
If Adrian could master these diagrams, Fran wouldn’t need to keep pushing him to learn various magic arrays in the future.
Then, Adrian’s life path would be his own choice.
The legendary path truly required his own awakening; there wasn’t much more Fran could help with.
"Are you interested in time magic?" Fran said expressionlessly, "You should wait and self-study using the magic book on the space-time system! Currently, there’s no one capable of teaching space-time magic."
Adrian nodded happily: "Once His Majesty the King gives the magic books to the Mage Academy, I’ll buy a few. Even if the Mage Academy teaches it, I guess they only teach theoretical knowledge—it all depends on individual research."
Fran glanced at Adrian, genuinely unable to believe that, as a legendary mage from Saral, William would surely gift some space-time magic to Fran, wouldn’t he?
Was the influence of the Illusion Array that great? After all this time, why hadn’t Adrian’s intelligence returned to normal?
Adrian, completely unaware of his teacher’s mocking thoughts, just walked to the window and looked towards the Dwarf Kingdom.
"Does His Majesty the King also know that we cannot start building until three days later?" he murmured, "Are we grinding it out to the last minute?"
"Isn’t that fine?" Fran said nonchalantly, "With so many Undead around doing nothing for three days, who knows what troubles might arise."
"Hill must be pretty bored; how about letting him look at the blueprints too?" Adrian cautiously asked.
"He doesn’t need to. He already has his own set of array constructs," Fran’s mouth twisted into a smirk, "completely different from yours that must memorize my diagrams."
Adrian hurried back to his seat to continue studying his diagrams.
Fran cast a skeptical glance at him, planning to observe the magicians in the Alchemy Hut. He always felt that the Illusory Realm might have left some side effects.
Hill stretched languidly, got up from bed, and started to wash up.
Alice sat at the prow of the ship looking below while Merkel crouched to one side, eating.
"Good morning. What is Alice watching?"
"So many people today, hiding in the Forest Array. Those birds are there too," Alice responded with a meow, "I can’t go down to play."
"Heard that yesterday’s Illusion Array was quite wicked," Hill chuckled, "Lucky we didn’t see it."
Alice nodded: "I think so, those humans cursed all morning but refused to leave Hill’s forest. Those birds are so annoyed they’re rolling their eyes; they didn’t even fly away."
When did the druids come over yesterday? Did they accidentally touch the edge of the Illusion Array?
Hill thought quietly, that would be really unfortunate.
They must have been irritated; nature-loving druids must find such a scenario intolerable.
Even the elves wouldn’t tolerate it.
The Goddess of the Silvermoon must be helping William just to annoy these fellows.
While dwarves pose a greater threat to the world, to Silvermoon, elves are more despicable.
He just didn’t expect the elves to capitulate so easily, allowing the dwarves to see it first instead.
Hill felt well-rested that day; he suspected that yesterday’s Illusion Array had some deep hypnotic functions.
It must be so, otherwise, why would there be silver light if the Illusion Array were meant to be concealed?
Silvermoon is skilled in using this kind of benign mental magic.
So, those caught in the Illusory Realm would surely pass out in the end.
As for Hill, it was just that too much of the silver light made him a bit sleepy.
However, despite not feeling any immediate threat, Hill still cautiously activated the high-level mode of the Cloud Ship’s defensive formation before going to sleep.
Hill was still worried that the demon collaborating with the dwarves might head this way.
If he couldn’t stay in the Dwarf Kingdom, except for the Triangle Zone permeated with demonic aura, he probably couldn’t escape the scrutiny of the gods in the starry sky.
Even the Elf Deity System would seek him out.
Hill looked toward William and the others, uncertain of how the battle there was going.
Then Hill’s face almost twisted; he wondered if the sleep had caused him to fall under an illusion as well.
Hill felt that even the spectators at the Divine Temple looked much the same as yesterday.
The relentless pounding from the sky was expressionless, unchanged.
Hill caught a few glances at William and felt strangely reassured in his heart.
This king had changed positions; Hill remembered him leaning to the left before sleeping yesterday, now switched to the right.
Indeed, this was developing into a drawn-out battle.
William probably didn’t mind such a war of attrition; to him, such days of battle might seem less than a mere exercise.
But Hill felt fortunate for not being involved.
Hill returned to his room, planning to make more Cloud Houses while waiting for William to return with the Undead Tribe.
Although Hill didn’t know what exactly William was waiting for, even when the Elves had already decided to withdraw, he still did not directly lead his troops to completely destroy the Dwarf Kingdom.
But Hill knew he didn’t understand these political intrigues, so he just watched.
Why were these Druids still here, though?
Hadn’t the Elven God King already decided to retreat to the Forest of the Elves and stop being proactive in hostility against humans?
William must have had some plans with the Druids!
Engrossed in his money-making endeavors, Hill finally remembered on the third day what he needed to do and handed over the seeds to Spencer.
Although Spencer looked bitter, he honestly accepted them.
Then he took out a tablet and began to prepare for the release of the flower planting mission.
Hill somewhat understood why William held such appreciation for this cousin; he was genuinely a responsible person.
In this world, it was a bit rare.
Not long after returning to the Cloud House, Hill quickly felt a disturbance from afar.
He rushed out of his room and leaned over the bow, staring in the direction where William was.
Alice and Merkel also quickly joined him by his side.
William floated in midair.
He had already directly knocked several demigods away.
William’s lips carried a casual smile, "It’s been a long time, if there are still civilians at the border, blame your gods!"
"King of Saral! How dare you?"
Following a roar from the starry sky, William’s long sword was unsheathed, releasing waves of huge Space Blades.
He directly shattered the Dwarf Great Wall in front of him.
"From now on, direct combat it is! Let’s see who dies out first?" William left a remark that infuriated the Dwarf King.
"The Undead Tribe, they don’t die out, right?" Alice asked with wide eyes, "What does he mean by that?"
"He’s telling the Dwarf King to wait for the extinction of the Dwarves!" Merkel answered crisply, "Well said with great force!"
No matter how angry the Dwarf King was, seeing the God of Time and Space already standing and waiting on The River of Time and Space, he had to temporarily lay down his arms.
One-on-one, he couldn’t defeat the God of Time and Space, and even with the entire pantheon together, the Human Pantheon would appear, along with the Sun God and Goddess of the Silvermoon.
It was impossible for these Dwarf Gods to risk their lives for their followers below.
The Dwarves won’t all perish.
The Dwarf King City was still down there!
William, standing in the air, loudly declared, "Comrades of the Undead Tribe, the war between humans and Dwarves has begun! Ahead lies your target! This time, spare no mercy!"
He glanced back in the direction of Central City, "Those of the Undead Tribe who do not wish to partake in the war, the reconstruction of Central City requires your help."
Then he vanished into the air, by the time Hill turned back, William was already standing on the King’s Ship.
Spencer followed behind him, quickly entering the grand hall of the King’s Ship.
Hill knew that the busiest moments were about to begin.
"Is the Illusion Array quite useful?" William asked Spencer with a smile, gesturing for him to sit down before speaking.
"Very useful. Both members from the Mage Association and the Druids were greatly frightened," Spencer replied.
"I knew it must be useful," William grinned proudly, "I didn’t come in directly just now because I wanted to see those panicked faces."
Spencer ignored his mischievous pleasure, "Would you look at my task arrangement, please?"
William carelessly flipped through it; Spencer was already proficient and didn’t require his interference.
"Hill, did you get your seeds?"
"Very nice seeds, the area around Central City shouldn’t just have Sunflowers," Spencer replied.
"It’s good enough to keep those in the park," William chuckled, "We’ll need someone to manage that area later, even Sunflower leaves and branches are quite useful."
"Alright." Spencer understood why William said this, even deducting all the merits of those Undead People who secretly picked the flowers wouldn’t save too many repercussions for the Undead People.
Even if the proportion of those with greedy hands is small, in such a colossal base, it’s enough for the Sunflowers outside to nearly vanish.
All they could do was deduct merits and experience from those people.
Others advance, they degrade.
William looked out and asked, "What’s with the Druids? Didn’t I have them leave?"
"They sneaked over while the God of Smithing was away. Pulled directly into the Illusion Array, they fainted outside the defensive formation. I picked them up and put them in the Forest Array," Spencer explained.
"Birds are also very curious, huh!" William muttered and let it be.
These Half-Elf Druids were just a casual move in his game, not worth his focus.
"The ones from the Mage Association fainted, I tossed them into the Alchemy Hut, they seemed very concerned about the Magic Array," Spencer said.
"Not such a good thing, but they still have intelligence," William commented lightly, "Wait for feedback from the Mage Association then!"
