Sweet like Wine: Love Your Dimples Even More-Chapter 140 - 70: Issues That Must Be Faced (2)
She liked Master Sean Lowell for, at most, a week or two.
Withdrawing now, there’s definitely still time.
But then again, if her brother’s love, which blooms as reluctantly as an iron tree, is also to wither before it has a chance to bloom because of her withdrawal?
All these years, besides taking care of their mom and her, Leo’s life has been solely about getting lost in his work.
How many years has it been since her brother even considered finding Artie a sister-in-law?
Artie Vaughn couldn’t quite accept the "feelings" between Sean Lowell and Summer Fairmont.
Summer Fairmont skillfully grabbed a tray, filled it with a bowl of seafood vermicelli, removed the heads and veins from the shrimp, took out the few large bones from the salmon, and thoroughly removed all the shells before carrying the tray to Artie’s room.
Summer Fairmont was long familiar with dealing with Artie’s occasional tantrums.
According to Artie’s logic, even friendships need occasional quarrels to stay fresh.
Placing the noodles by Artie’s bedside, Summer Fairmont took a tissue and wiped Artie’s tears: "Don’t cry, have some noodles."
"Artie doesn’t want to eat Summer’s trickster noodles."
"Where’s the trick?"
"Does Summer really not like Master Sean Lowell?"
When girls are unreasonable, they like to latch onto the same question, asking again and again.
Does she like Sean Lowell?
Summer Fairmont really didn’t feel that way.
She still remembered quite clearly the accident scene from their first meeting.
The obvious resistance and aversion.
Although, these two feelings became less apparent after Summer Fairmont drank the 96-degree Water of Life.
Saying she liked him hadn’t even come up.
In Summer Fairmont’s view, she and Sean Lowell could never get along like The Vaughn Siblings.
The investigation report Hieronymus left her about Quinn Fairmont recorded at least three attempts to contact her relatives in the country through completely different channels.
Official, unofficial, had even one of these three attempts received a response, she wouldn’t have been adopted by Hieronymus and grown up in endless darkness.
The piece of sad memory Summer Fairmont had subconsciously locked away during her youthful years began to show signs of resurfacing due to the bloody photos in the investigation report and the button bracelet on her hand.
Merely signs.
Memories sealed for nearly twenty years, even if reopened, felt a bit like someone else’s story.
For Summer Fairmont, there was no difference between her today and her of yesterday.
The only change was she could no longer treat Sean Lowell with silent indifference.
But to say she didn’t like him seemed not quite right either.
Her feelings for Sean Lowell truly had shifted after reading the will document.
This fact remained irrespective of whether Summer Fairmont acknowledged it or not.
"Maybe, liking, is not the same for me as it is for you." Summer Fairmont said a sentence that was very long for her.
Artie was stunned; did Summer finally admit it?
Her brother Leo Vaughn was undoubtedly an emotional iron tree, but what about Summer?
If her brother was an emotional iron tree, then Summer Fairmont was an emotional diamond.
If she couldn’t hurt her brother, could she hurt Summer?
"Artie is hungry and tired, needs Summer to feed her." Artie quickly reverted to The Rhyming Siren state.
Summer Fairmont fed Artie the entire bowl of seafood vermicelli as if taking care of a disabled person.
Fortunately, she’d intentionally removed all the bones and shells beforehand.
Otherwise, she’d have needed another bowl. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Artie was so well-behaved it was as if she had never been angry.
Summer Fairmont held the food to her mouth, and she ate it, continuing to open her mouth for more.
Everything returned to the way it was.
"Summer, tonight Artie wants to eat a whole roasted lamb and roasted piglet."
"Both?" Summer Fairmont wasn’t surprised at Artie "ordering food," but having both whole lamb and roasted piglet in one meal had never happened before.
"Yes, yes, the pig and the lamb must always be together, even in death, never separated." The Pouting Siren’s ability to conjure reasons was beyond typical people.
Before Summer Fairmont could respond, Artie was already twice as angry: "Bad Summer, you just promised Artie that you’d say at least three words per sentence, and now you’re breaking your promise. Summer, you really don’t love Artie at all now!"
"I’ll make them both." Summer Fairmont quickly compromised, figuring it wasn’t worth upsetting Artie over the question of how many dishes of meat a meal should include.
