Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s-Chapter 1322: Brother-in-law Really Loves You
Chapter 1322: Chapter 1322: Brother-in-law Really Loves You
"Sis, my brother-in-law really adores you!" An Ping gave Qin Jian a thumbs-up.
"Of course. If I were depending on you to dote on me, I’d have starved to death hundreds of times over." An Hao said contentedly as she snatched something from An Ping’s hand.
She was like a big calico cat guarding its food, turning and heading towards the table.
"Sis, don’t hog it all to yourself. At least let me share in the spoils." These past few days, everything An Ping ate tasted bland in his mouth.
Today, Qin Jian brought back so many goodies, An Ping smelled them and felt hungry and wanted to eat.
"What would you like to eat?" An Hao asked, batting her eyes at him.
"Hehe, roast chicken!" That was An Ping’s favorite.
"Alright, alright!" An Hao gave in painfully and offered up the roast chicken, "Since you want to eat it too, let’s all eat together."
"Brother-in-law, have you eaten yet?" An Ping offhandedly asked.
"No." He had come back in such a hurry, rushing from the troop straight to various places to buy things for An Hao.
So he hadn’t had time to eat.
"Brother-in-law, since you’re back, let’s have a couple of drinks," An Ping said, thinking of drinking some alcohol whenever he saw meat.
"Sure, then call your dad to join us," Qin Jian suggested.
"Dad went to bed early. These days, he too has been so worried he can’t fall asleep. But today, no matter what, since Sis thought of a way, Dad’s also felt some relief and started feeling sleepy."
"Then it’s decided, just the two of us will drink a little."
Drink they did, as An Ping set up the table and placed the roast chicken on it.
Then he went to the kitchen and grilled a few slices of mantou to bring over.
Qin Jian and An Ping started to drink one-on-one.
An Hao sat beside them, silent, just busying herself with eating her water chestnut cakes.
Qin Jian turned his head to look at An Hao, seeing her eat with relish, he got up to pour her a glass of water and handed it over, "Eat slowly, don’t choke."
An Hao nodded, stuffing them into her mouth one with her left hand and another with her right, without stopping.
An Ping watched anxiously on her behalf, "Sis, you should eat less. I’ve heard old folks say that you can’t overeat when you’re about to give birth! If you eat too much, the baby will be big, and it’ll be hard for you during childbirth."
"I haven’t had a full meal tonight. Now that I’ve got an appetite, nothing can stop me," An Hao said without lifting her head.
Watching his wife eat non-stop like a little greedy cat, Qin Jian couldn’t help but laugh, "An Ping has a point. You should take it easy!"
He didn’t want to shortchange his wife now but also didn’t want her to suffer too much when giving birth later.
So whether to stop her or not, he could only let her decide for herself.
"Hmm hmm. Let me indulge this time. I’ll take it easy tomorrow."
An Ping also couldn’t help but laugh, tearing off two chicken drumsticks from the roast chicken and handing them to An Hao, "Here, eat legs to strengthen legs! I’ve eaten my share, so let’s make my little nephew run fast in the future."
An Hao took them without hesitation and lowered her head to eat the chicken legs.
Watching An Hao’s satisfied expression, Qin Jian and An Ping exchanged a smile.
"Come on, brother-in-law, let me toast to you first," An Ping raised his glass and toasted Qin Jian.
After two drinks, the two men’s chatterboxes opened up.
"How’s everything at home? Is the loss this time a lot?" Qin Jian inquired.
"Pretty much nothing left," An Ping poured himself a drink and gulped it down, "My sister has a new idea, to start a vegetable wholesale company. Now what we lack is money. Tomorrow I have to start raising funds."
