Sweet Wife So Charming: CEO: Hold Back Your Heart-Chapter 355: Getting Along
So urgent, did something serious happen?
Moira Young paused for a moment and asked, "What’s up?"
"Moira, are you free today? Let’s meet up." Joe’s voice noticeably brightened, "Moira, your recent schedule is out, there are quite a few, and the opportunities look great. However, the most urgent one starts tomorrow."
Since Moira Young was out relaxing, Joe had been postponing telling her.
But now it couldn’t be delayed any longer.
Unexpectedly, Heath Sterling snatched the phone and replied, "Tell Lee to arrange Moira’s work for three days later, push off all the urgent ones. She doesn’t need that bit of money."
Joe was a bit anxious hearing this: "But Moira doesn’t have President Sinclair backing her anymore, who else can she rely on but herself? These opportunities are too good to just push away."
Realizing she might have touched a sore spot for Moira Young, Joe quickly explained, "Moira, that’s not what I meant, don’t misunderstand, I just hope you’ll be well..."
Moira Young’s lips curled into a bitter smile, "I know."
"So, Moira, what do you want to do?" Joe asked cautiously.
"Let’s go with what Heath said, let’s talk about it in a couple of days." Moira Young sighed lightly. Her current mental state would only cause trouble if she went back to work, so she might as well take this time to sort things out.
Seeing her decision, Joe felt it was a pity but still nodded in agreement, "Okay, I’ll go tell Lee. Moira, have fun and try to come back soon, we’re all waiting for you."
"Mm." Moira Young responded softly, acknowledging.
Joe and Moira Young got along well. Since Moira decided to make her comeback, Joe was all in, ready to do her best as an assistant.
But now that Moira just broke up, she felt deeply for her. Oh well, just let her have a few more days of fun.
When Lee learned about Moira Young’s situation, he felt deeply sorry for her, so he told Joe, "Let Moira have a good time, and she can come back to work whenever she feels better."
Moira Young hung up the phone, covered her mouth, and yawned. She was so tired.
She looked up at Heath Sterling, "Let’s go back."
However, Heath Sterling was standing in front of a "Beggar’s Chicken" stall, happily waving at her, "Since we’re here, how can we not try this local specialty?"
"..." Moira Young coldly refused.
"Don’t be so distant. The ’Beggar’s Chicken’ here is famous and a great deal. Do you know how much a chicken like this would sell for in the city center?" Heath Sterling asked proudly while holding the chicken.
Moira Young, the isolated girl keeping to herself, wouldn’t know any of this, so she shook her head.
Heath Sterling raised an eyebrow proudly, "You have no idea, right? Let me tell you, here, it only costs a bit over 100 bucks to buy one, in the city center you might not get it even if you pay a thousand."
"Why’s that? Is it really that good?" Moira Young didn’t believe it at all. She thought for a moment and added, "Besides, this is a hot spring resort; prices are supposed to be higher than in the city center, are you lying to me?"
"Why would I lie to you? Don’t think all tourist spots are expensive." Heath Sterling thought the issue wasn’t important and changed the subject, "Really not going to eat? It’s really good."
Moira Young waved her hand, "I’m an actress, I have to maintain my figure, it’s already late, I’m not eating."
"Are you sure?" Heath Sterling pressed.
"Yeah, not eating."
Saying that, Moira Young started walking forward, not planning to wait for him.
Heath Sterling didn’t make a sound and silently cracked the thick outer shell, and the unique aroma of the "Beggar’s Chicken" filled the air.
Moira Young’s steps suddenly stopped, she pretended to sit back down casually, "It’s still early, I’ll keep you company."
"It’s okay, I’m a grown man, I don’t need you to keep me company, if you’re tired, go back to sleep." Seeing through her thoughts, Heath Sterling teased her with a smile.
"I said I’ll wait, so I’ll wait, what’s with all the rambling!" Embarrassed by his teasing, Moira Young blushed and shouted at him with a small voice.
Afraid of upsetting her, Heath Sterling quickly soothed, "Alright, alright, don’t be mad, I was just saying it casually. Eating alone isn’t fun anyway."
Saying this, he slowly tore off a plump drumstick and handed it to Moira Young, smiling and raising his chin at her, "Since we’re not going back, you must try it."
"You’re the one insisting I eat it, not that I actually want to." Moira Young haughtily swallowed and reached out but hesitated to take it.
"Yes, I’m insisting you eat it." Heath Sterling said helplessly. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
After he said this, Moira Young finally took the chicken leg with relief and began to savor it bit by bit.
Watching Moira Young’s ever-growing happy expression, even without her saying anything, Heath Sterling knew she was enjoying it.
As long as she’s happy, everything’s worth it.
After eating and drinking to satisfaction, Moira Young went back to her room and fell asleep.
Early the next morning, before Heath Sterling was awake, Moira Young was already in her bathrobe at the hot spring.
Fully relaxed in the milk bath, Moira Young sighed with satisfaction.
The hot springs here were indeed comforting. If it weren’t for work, she wouldn’t even want to go back. Eating, drinking, and unwinding like this every day seemed quite nice too.
In the winter morning, sunlight always rose particularly late.
It was already nine in the morning, and the warm sunlight gradually streamed through the window into Heath Sterling’s room.
The sunlight danced lightly across Heath Sterling’s handsome face, as if trying to wake him from a beautiful dream.
It wasn’t known how long before Heath Sterling slowly opened his eyes.
About ten minutes later, after getting ready, he knocked on Moira Young’s door, but there wasn’t a single response.
Panic struck him immediately, and he quickly got the staff to open the door, only to find there was no sign of Moira Young inside.
If not for Moira Young’s sweater left on the bed, he would’ve thought she had slipped away during the night.
"Where could she have gone so early?" he murmured to himself, massaging his aching temples.
He was just about to look for Moira Young when he turned and found the person he was looking for.
"Moira? Where did you run off to this early? I thought you were missing." Heath Sterling joked with a smile.
Moira Young tugged at the corners of her lips and calmly replied, "Where else? I wasn’t feeling great this morning, so I went for a soak in the hot spring. You sure can sleep in."
"Hehe." Heath Sterling scratched his head and smiled, not explaining.
He couldn’t say that he spent a lot of effort preparing the so-called fireworks show for Moira yesterday, so naturally, he was exhausted and slept in a bit longer.
"Had breakfast?" Moira Young asked while drying her hair.
Heath Sterling shook his head, "Not yet, you?"
"Neither have I."
The two exchanged smiles. After Moira Young changed clothes, they headed to the restaurant together.
