Chapter 123: Chapter 123, Choosing Slaughter

"There are still five patterns left to see. Let’s look at all of them first."

Chu Ming calmed his tumultuous emotions and turned his head to look at the second pattern.

There are many branches under Sword Intent, and the six patterns on the Sword Dao Inheritance Stele represent six kinds of Sword Intent. It can be said that all other Sword Intents are derived from these six. The first pattern left a deep impression on Chu Ming—it was Immortal.

The six patterns on the Sword Dao Inheritance Stele are different, yet they are all incredibly complex and intricate. Chu Ming stood in front of the second pattern, letting his consciousness slowly enter it. The surrounding sights spun once again.

The sky was still drizzling, the world shrouded in darkness. At the peak of a distant mountain, there stood a middle-aged man in white, holding a sharp sword in his right hand.

As soon as Chu Ming’s consciousness entered that space, the middle-aged man wielded his sword, slicing through the sky. A surge of destructive energy engulfed everything, the world trembled, the space was torn apart, and the lightning in the sky was abruptly severed, blue currents crackling.

Puff, puff, puff.....

The blade continued to extend, reaching the ends of the world. With one sword strike, space shattered, and an entire world was utterly destroyed.

His consciousness returned to tranquility once again. In the blink of an eye, Chu Ming opened his eyes and found himself back in the great hall, his face still pale and bloodless.

"Such powerful Destruction Sword Intent!"

The first pattern depicted Immortal Sword Intent, the second Destruction Sword Intent!

When the Immortal Sword Intent emerged, the heavens and earth were everlasting. When the Destruction Sword Intent appeared, all things were annihilated!

Taking a deep breath, Chu Ming continued to look at the next pattern.

His consciousness entered the third pattern. The middle-aged man in white swung his sword, space rippled with countless waves, which then transformed into myriad sharp blades, clashing and collapsing instantly. The third pattern was Void Sword Intent.

The fourth pattern was Slaughter Sword Intent. With one swing, the world was shrouded in a blood-colored hue, the heavens extinguished in a sea of blood!

The fifth pattern was Dark Sword Intent. One sword strike brought darkness, the world plunged into lightlessness, everything crumbling in the endless dark.

The sixth pattern was Light Sword Intent. Drawing the sword, an area melted directly in the searing light.

Six patterns, six kinds of Sword Intent, each immensely powerful. A martial artist need only comprehend one of them to challenge others above their level.

After viewing the six Sword Intents, even with Chu Ming’s strong soul power, he found it a bit overwhelming. If it were an ordinary person, they might have been crushed into a blood mist by the six Sword Intents.

Taking several deep breaths to suppress his agitation, Chu Ming began to ponder.

"Each of the six Sword Intents has its own characteristics!"

While observing the six Sword Intents, his mind kept deliberating on which one he should choose. The six options were Immortal, Destruction, Void, Slaughter, Dark, and Light.

In the early stages, even with Chu Ming’s remarkable comprehension, he didn’t dare to cultivate all of them. His strength wasn’t yet sufficient. Focusing on one Sword Intent would be the best way to make progress.

Only in the later stages would martial artists choose to study multiple Sword Intents. By then, their comprehension would have significantly improved, and having one Sword Intent as a foundation would make learning others much easier.

In the early stages, specializing in one path is the truth!

"Sword Intents come in many forms, but they all derive from the Six Great Sword Intents. Among them, the one most suited to me should be the Slaughter Sword Intent!"

A sword is inherently a lethal weapon, forged for killing. If a swordsman doesn’t kill or draw blood, what’s the point?

Furthermore, a swordsman must have the courage to forge ahead. Any martial artist who obstructs him from reaching the pinnacle must die.

Martial cultivation is a path of slaughter. The law of the jungle is an unchanging truth.

"I choose Slaughter Sword Intent!"

Having made up his mind, Chu Ming didn’t hesitate. His consciousness slowly entered the fourth pattern.

Crack, crack!

The sky was drizzling, the world dark. From time to time, blue lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the space.

On the towering mountain peak in the distance, the middle-aged man in white still stood motionless with his sharp sword.

Seeing this, Chu Ming frowned. When he observed the six patterns earlier, as soon as his consciousness entered that space, the middle-aged man in white would immediately wield his sword. But now, the man stood still.

"Remember my name—Extreme Sword Saint!"

While Chu Ming was puzzled, a faint voice reached him. It was the middle-aged man in white on the mountain peak speaking softly.

The environment changed, space suddenly compressed, and time and space blurred. When Chu Ming focused again, he found himself beside the middle-aged man in white.

He wanted to speak, but the space seemed sealed, no sound could escape.

"This middle-aged man in white....." Chu Ming was moved. Looking at the man, he was astonished to see that his face, which had been a mystery, was now fully revealed.

The middle-aged man’s face was ordinary, his eyes ancient and weary, his pupils black and white, seeming to see through everything. Most strangely, his hair was of six colors: red, black, white, green, blue, and yellow, all harmoniously intertwined without gaps.

"As a human, cultivating my Sword Intent means you must cut down thousands of demons!" The man’s weary eyes seemed to reminisce about past battles with demons.

"Since you have chosen the Sword Dao inheritance, there are things you must know."

Chu Ming listened silently. He was almost certain that the middle-aged man in white was above the Life and Death Realm King. Usually, Life and Death Realm Kings were titled kings or emperors, but none had been titled saints.

Once titled a saint, even if others did not object openly, the Life and Death Realm Kings would never accept it. He would face all their challenges. If his power was great, it might be fine, but if weak, he could be killed.

"The world has thousands of Sword Intents, collectively known as the Three Thousand Sword Dao. But essentially, they all derive from the six: Destruction, Slaughter, Immortal, Dark, Light, and Void!"

Chu Ming listened quietly. Understanding these concepts wouldn’t directly enhance his power but would benefit him greatly in the future.

"Every Sword Intent is divided into ten tiers. Above tier ten is Perfection! Since you have chosen the path of Slaughter, you must bring it to its fullest expression!"
