Synthetic Wizard-Chapter 198 - 138: Funeral Bell Mark, Five-Year Advancement (2)
"We still need about two-thirds more Magic Refined Gold to craft the Refined Gold Golem. Most apprentices have been busy crafting golems recently. When the golems reach saturation, we’ll adjust the task ratio and increase the rewards for making Magic Refined Gold. The speed should pick up then."
"We must also start collecting micro soul crystals in advance to synthesize small soul crystals for making the Refined Gold Golem’s Soul Core."
Sunan recalled in his mind the tasks he needed to accomplish in the near future.
"The next step is to develop the Magic Plant Garden."
The six new Knight Academies need a large quantity of Dragon Blood Fruit, and a new Magic Plant Garden must be developed to meet the demand.
However, Sunan had been busy researching bloodline marks and divine energy lately and hadn’t had time to address this issue.
Now that the research has paused, it’s time to take action.
"There’s still too few available hands."
Sunan couldn’t help but sigh.
Even if he had one or two more helpers, he wouldn’t need to personally attend to everything.
While browsing the wizard intelligence gathered by the Starlight royalty, he even considered recruiting a few Level 2 Wizard Apprentices.
He believed those Wizard Apprentices, who have experienced the pain of resource scarcity, would not reject a resource-rich trading platform.
As long as the base can ensure a sufficient supply of resources and fair trading principles, there’s no need to worry about the loyalty of those Wizard Apprentices.
However, before Sunan could take action, good news arrived from the base.
Starlight Calendar 1255, Harvest Moon (September).
Sherman and Cole successively constructed the third star ring, advancing to become Level 2 Wizard Apprentices.
Base No. 1.
Public resting area.
Sherman and Cole were surrounded by many apprentices like stars encircling the moon, with constant words of congratulation.
"Congratulations to the two senior brothers."
"I knew Senior Brother Sherman and Senior Brother Cole would definitely advance to Level 2 Wizard Apprentices!"
"They achieved Level 2 in just over five years; Senior Brother Sherman and Senior Brother Cole are indeed geniuses."
"I’m so envious. I’ve only just constructed my second star ring."
"Senior Brother, can you share your promotion insights with us?"
Attila watched Sherman and Cole with a smile, feeling happy for them, though her emotions were complex.
Her talent wasn’t as great as Sherman and Cole, and she was still far from constructing the third star ring, estimating it would take at least another two or three years.
Even Ethan, in the second batch, was constructing star rings faster than her and was very likely to advance to Level 2 Wizard Apprentice before her.
"Alright, thank you all for the congratulations. We’re in a hurry to meet the teacher; we’ll talk about promotion insights another time."
Sherman said with a smile.
Hearing that the teacher had summoned them, the crowd quickly cleared the way.
Sherman and Cole walked out of the crowd, leaving the public resting area and heading toward the Central District.
It was Sunan’s exclusive area, with his laboratory, meditation room, and magic training area all located there. No one could enter without his permission.
Standing at the entrance were two Elite Stone Golems.
Upon seeing someone approach, the two golems immediately turned their large heads. Their dark eyes paused on the two, and a mechanical monotonous voice emerged from their mouths.
"Target search in progress, permission to enter granted, passage allowed!"
With those words, their heads clicked back to the original position.
Cole looked at the Elite Stone Golem with burning eyes.
These were Legendary Level puppets.
Far superior to Clay Golems and Stone Golems.
One day, if he could craft such a level of puppet, that would truly be impressive.
The two had been to the Central District many times before and were familiar with its layout. They headed straight to the study after passing through the door.
Just as Sherman was about to knock, a voice came from inside.
"Come in."
Sherman and Cole adjusted their expressions and opened the door to find their teacher sitting behind the desk, holding a book and smiling at them.
To their surprise, Lord Amy, who had been frequently staying in the underground world lately, was also there.
Amy lay in the corner of the desk, blissfully enjoying a piece of catnip.
"Teacher, Lord Amy."
Sherman and Cole bowed respectfully.
"Meow, it’s Sherman and Cole," Amy came to, waving its paw at them. "I heard you’ve both advanced to Level 2 Wizard Apprentices. Congratulations, meow."
Sherman and Cole both smiled, about to say something humble, when Amy changed the subject.
"But the promotion speed is a bit slow, meow. In the past, if you hadn’t made Level 2 Wizard Apprentice in over five years, you’d have been expelled from the academy."
Their smiles froze on their faces.
Amy went on, "Sunan reached Level 2 Wizard Apprentice in less than a year, meow."
Sherman and Cole were stunned, their gazes towards Sunan instantly filled with admiration.
A worthy teacher, to pass the Level 2 Wizard Apprentice hurdle in such a short time.
"Alright," Sunan interrupted Amy, looking at the two with a smile, "Don’t listen to Amy’s nonsense; you’ve both done excellently to get this far."
It’s the era of the Elemental Desert, nowhere near a millennium ago.
It’s not even comparable to him with his advantages!
Sherman and Cole reaching Level 2 Wizard Apprentice in just over five years demonstrate great talent.
Of course, this was thanks to the base’s ample resources; outside, it’s common for Wizard Apprentices to take twenty to thirty years to barely advance to Level 2.
Those with slightly less talent might take fifty to sixty years to pass that stage.
Pleased with Sunan’s praise, Sherman and Cole’s faces lit up with joy.
"Thanks to your guidance, teacher!" they said in unison.
Sunan smiled slightly, "I merely provided a platform; reaching this point is mainly due to your hard work."
Then he became serious and said earnestly:
"However, you cannot become complacent; Level 2 Wizard Apprentice is just the start of the wizard’s path and merely signifies you’re qualified apprentices. On this continent, you need to be at least a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice to be considered strong."
"Advancing to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice is far more challenging than you imagine, let alone advancing to Official Wizard. Be mentally prepared for a long journey ahead."
"Yes, teacher!"
Sherman and Cole responded solemnly, bowing in unison.
After advising them, Sunan relaxed his tone and tossed each a bottle of potion with a smile.
"This is a Superpower Potion, a second-tier potion that enhances meditation efficiency, my gift for your promotion."
"However, the potion has usage restrictions; your Spiritual Power must reach a certain level, so train for a while and stabilize your realm before taking it."
The second-tier lower-grade Superpower Potion requires a Spiritual Power of 13 to be consumed.
Newly advanced Level 2 Wizard Apprentices, even if not reaching 13, won’t be far from it and will fulfill the requirement with a few months of training.
"Thank you, teacher!"
Sherman and Cole exclaimed in delight.
Potions that enhance meditation efficiency always require higher Contribution Points to exchange.
Not to mention, it’s a second-tier potion.
Exchanging it with Contribution Points could take them over half a month’s worth of tasks.
"Go back and come to me once you’ve stabilized your realm; I have tasks for both of you," Sunan waved them off.
They responded respectfully, bowed, and then left.
As they exited the study, Sherman and Cole exchanged glances, sharing a mutual smile.
"This time, you advanced thirteen days ahead of me; you’ve won, but next time I’ll surpass you!" Cole declared resolutely.
In the past, Sherman would have laughed off such remarks from Cole.
However, after old Roger’s death, he had a transformative shift in his attitude towards enhancing his power, and hearing Cole’s challenging-like words brought out a confident smile on his face.
"Then I’ll be waiting, but be prepared, I won’t lose to you!"
