Evan re-read the same words over and over again. He could understand it, really. But he couldn’t comprehend it. There was something really vague about this entire thing.
He has been rewarded by a Navie file and after seeing so many ones and zeroes, then number counting up, he sees words of warning from a person named Navie. It is already weird and somehow, off putting. He couldn’t put a finger on why he finds this both helpful and scary.
Then again, Evan still needs to do a feat just so he could get rewarded by the eyes only if he went after it. That was an entire thing. Making sure that there would be no interrupted line from the walls of the caves to connect a line from left to right?
He could see how to do it now that he was done exploring. The only problem was what to use. He may have already planned on using a clay pot, but what if that wasn’t enough and it is really looking for something like an ink that would not dry out until he complete the line. What then?
Still, there was no way Evan what the eyes for seeking the all-seeing part for the rewards meant. Iva didn’t know what it had meant when Evan asked it that. And Iva was supposed to be what Evan had gotten from the watch by being a user.
Unless Iva was lying. But Evan has no way of proving that Iva is and was lying at any point. Sure, it teases but outright lying? He can’t tell.
Who is Navie? He has never heard of this person, but it was clear that it is an actual person who had personally gave him this warning.
Whoever they are, they knew how to communicate with Evan. Iva had already told Evan that there weren’t many watch users still around because of the Shadowlings. Even if that is the case, there should probably still be some watch users like Evan still alive somewhere.
Maybe this Navie is a watcher user too. They were probably still alive and have a way to deal with the Shadowlings too. Evan has no proof, but it is the only thing in his mind that is making any sense.
What does the eyes really imply? Evan couldn’t just wrapped his mind around it. Navie is clearly warning him of it.
That is the reward he will get for completing a side quest. It is not even the main quest, which means that it isn’t really something that h needed to do.
And him completing the main quest and getting this Navie file before continuing to the side quest, if he decide, is too much of a coincidence.
It really is up to Evan if he will follow what the warning is telling him to do.
For now, his surrounding began to grow a bright light. He began to close his eyes, he failed to understand the words that is being typed by the panel.
The last words he was able to glance from the sentence was ’they seek the users’ before he had to clench his eyes and add his hands to cover them even more.
When the bright light dissipates, Evan found himself standing in the same part of the corridor.
There were no more wolves around him about to attack, nor is there any sound around the corridor. It is eerily quiet, as if something was placed around his ears and he couldn’t hear anything other than his own breathing or heartbeat.
"That was so cool!" Iva exclaimed from Evan’s head. "You have gotten better control over your void ability!"
Evan’s eyebrows furrowed at Iva’s words. But he didn’t use his Void ability. He was back reading Navie’s warning. For all he knew, his surrounding was frozen while he got the rewards.
"Right..." Evan’s voice just trailed off. "I think we should continue the next part tomorrow."
"What? But you were just getting started!" Iva whines, bouncing even more on his head.
Evan hums. It seems like Iva is not aware of what he had just experienced. Is it because it is detached from his head when it happened? Or he had subconsciously didn’t include it in what he had experience?
"Well, I used my only two mana points on two rooms. I may have more usage for the Simulation Zone, but that won’t really do me much other than be able to use detect ability to find out weaknesses on enemies which I can just do when I get back here tomorrow."
Iva the slime huffs a little. "Fineeeee, suit yourself. Just know that we should be here early tomorrow if you want to do the side-quest."
Evan raised an eyebrow before looking up, not that he can see Iva at this moment. "What is that supposed to mean? Is my deadline close?"
"Yeah! Your deadline is in about... 21 hours from now. I have been counting."
That is news to Evan. Then again, he didn’t really check what the status of the deadline was. He would be back tomorrow anyway.
He would need to sleep off the information or warning he got before he actually went through with it. Maybe when the morning comes, or the night comes before he returns, he will get the decision that he wanted to stick with.
