Chapter 1080: Then So Be It, War It Is! [Part 2]
The leaders of the different factions all had some kind of life-saving ability or artifact that would activate when their lives were in danger.
Prince Aurelion had clearly used his, allowing him to instantly teleport somewhere out of the range of the Artemian Commander, who then roared in fury.
With his only leverage gone, Lucan could only charge toward the city, annihilating every single Jinn blocking his path.
"Go underground!" Lucan ordered. "Evacuate now!"
With his explosive strength, Lucan reached the city with a trail of blood.
He held back the Jinns, who quickly backed away as soon as he appeared.
Even Commander Dravon didn’t dare to go too near to the Artemian Commander and only unleashed ranged attacks at the fleeing Artemians, killing as many of them as he could.
Lucan was only one person, and it was simply impossible for him to hold the entire Jinn Army by himself.
Still, his presence allowed the majority of the Artemians to flee in the underground tunnels of the Azothralls.
When he felt that his transformation was nearing its end, Lucan unleashed a blinding ray of light in a wide arc, disintegrating those who were unlucky enough to get hit by it.
Hundreds of Jinns died from that single attack, forcing the others to distance themselves to safety.
Lucan gave Commander Dravon one last glance before flying to one of the tunnels that would lead him to safety.
Although there were Jinns that were capable of burying under the ground, they were in fact outclassed by the Azothralls, whose bodies had gotten used to digging.
Also, they had the advantage in underground battles because they could simply collapse the tunnels they had created, trapping their pursuers.
Prince Aurelion, who had been teleported ten miles away from the battlefield, finally returned after a few minutes and looked at the devastation before him.
Countless dead bodies of Jinns, Artemians, and Azothralls lay on the ground, proving how intense the battle had been despite only lasting for half an hour.
He already knew that the Artemians were not pushovers, but seeing this devastation made Prince Aurelion better understand that the other party shouldn’t be allowed to live.
Commander Dravon flew toward his Prince and gave him a report on the total number of casualties of their army.
Hearing the numbers, Prince Aurelion narrowed his eyes and looked for a person on the battlefield.
It was none other than Prince Valen of House Pavareth.
"Tell him to come to me," Prince Aurelion ordered to one of his guards, who had flown to the Prince’s side.
It didn’t take long for Prince Valen to appear before the Dragonkin Prince and asked the reason why he was called.
"You are close to the Wanderers, correct?" Prince Aurelion asked. "I want you to talk to them."
"What should I tell them?" Prince Valen inquired.
"A temporary truce," Prince Aurelion replied. "No. A temporary alliance until the Artemians are all dead."
As the leader of the Dragonkin, he knew that he shouldn’t waste any time in contacting the third party, who were watching this battle from the side.
Prince Aurelion knew that the Artemians could also contact the Wanderers, forming an alliance with them.
After witnessing the might of their technology, the Dragonkin Prince no longer looked down at the feeble humans, who were led by Zion Leventis.
Prince Valen sighed in relief. He had also hoped that the Jinns wouldn’t have to fight against the Wanderers.
This was especially true since his sister was now Zion’s lover—a tightly guarded secret among them.
Since the Prince was paying close attention to him, Prince Valen tapped his communicator in order to directly talk to Zion.
The call didn’t push through right away, which was something that never happened before.
Prince Valen thought that he had punched the wrong numbers in the communicator and tried again.
After a full minute, it finally connected.
However, instead of seeing the young man, whom he recognized as the supreme strategist of the Wanderers, he saw a young lady with long black hair and blue eyes staring back at him.
For a brief moment, Prince Valen thought he contacted the wrong person. But seeing that the number flashing on the screen was indeed Zion’s, he decided to talk to the young lady first for confirmation.
"I want to talk to Zion," Prince Valen said. "Tell him that it’s important."
"He’s currently not around," Tiona replied. "But he left me to take over his liaisons with the Jinns. What is the reason for your call? Do you want to talk to your sister?"
"Maybe later," Prince Valen answered. "Prince Aurelion of the Dragonkin wishes to form a temporary alliance with the Wanderers."
"A temporary alliance?" Tiona arched an eyebrow.
"Yes," Prince Valen nodded. "He plans to work together with the Wanderers to eliminate the Artemians."
"Very well," Tiona replied. "I will inform Zion and the leaders of the Wanderers about this proposal. I will call you again before the end of the day."
"Thank you," Prince Valen replied before ending the call.
Tiona glanced at Zion’s communicator before giving it a few taps.
She scrolled through the names that were listed in the young man’s communicator before stopping on a person’s name.
Arthur Leventis.
The young lady didn’t hesitate to make the call, and just like Prince Valen, Arthur thought that his no-good grandson was calling him out of the blue.
But when he saw that the one appearing on the projection wasn’t his grandson, but a young lady, a frown appeared on Arthur’s face.
"Who are you?" Arthur asked. "Where is Zion?"
"Are you alone?" Tiona asked back. "I am going to say things that mustn’t be known by others."
"Answer me first. Who are you?" Arthur insisted.
"Tiona," Tiona answered. "My name is Tiona." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
The frown on Arthur’s face deepened because he only knew one creature who went by the name Tiona.
It was none other than the black snake that was always coiled up on his grandson’s neck, and had been with him for many years.
"I am alone in my room," Arthur said. "We can talk."
Tiona nodded before explaining the situation to the Patriarch of the Leventis Family.
Since Arthur already had the contact information of Prince Valen when they visited the Jinns in the past, she believed that Arthur and the other leaders of the Wanderers could handle the rest on their own.
But, due to Zion’s complicated situation, Tiona and Arthur brainstormed a bit on how they would deal with the situation.
When they finally finished their discussion, Arthur thanked Tiona and asked her to look after Zion, who was currently unconscious.
"I’ll handle the rest," Arthur stated. "It is very shameful for us adults to always push the decisions to a child."
"Good." Tiona smiled. "All of you are already adults. Don’t always let Zion make your decisions for you."
Arthur snorted before cutting off the connection.
He had long wished for Zion to take a step back from the front lines and let him and the other Monarchs handle the situation.
Since the opportunity had come for them to play their part, he would do it without fail and ensure that his grandson wouldn’t need to worry about anything after he woke up from his sleep.
