System's POV-Chapter 1482: This Is Nothing Personal. It’s Just Good Business
Mammon slowly opened his eyes. Two days had passed since he last talked with the Supreme Commander of the Infernals.
He had promised the Fiend that in two days, his army would arrive and descend upon Solterra in full force, sweeping all opposition.
Mammon could feel it.
The overwhelming power emanating from the red portal was growing stronger with each passing hour.
If he estimated accurately, the Infernal Army would arrive in their world in two hours, and once that happened...
Mammon sighed deeply. He also didn’t know if he was doing the right thing or not. Unlike Zaphiel who wanted to break free from the cage, Mammon had a different goal and that was... to achieve Godhood.
He was the Fiend of Greed and had the monopoly over all trades and merchantry in Solterra. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that if Mammon wished for it, the economy of any kingdom, empire, or city would crash down without knowing what hit them.
And through commerce and trade, Mammon also realized something.
He was able to gather a new kind of power that was very different from the one he possessed.
He would later know this as the power of Faith.
The power that was able to give birth to Gods.
And thus, Mammon expanded his business to every corner of the world, using every means necessary to gather as much gold as possible to collect the power of faith from those who were just as greedy as him.
The more he got, the more greedy he became. He wanted more... much more.
The world of Solterra thrived in trade and commerce, and nearly everyone knew who the Fiend of Greed was.
But this wasn’t enough for Mammon to attain Godhood.
The reason?
It was because he shared his popularity and notoriety with thirteen other beings just like him.
There were seven Celestials and seven Fiends in Solterra.
Everyone worshiped them.
Everyone feared them.
Everyone was awed by their great might.
And thus, Mammon couldn’t get what he wanted. The power of faith was shared among his colleagues, who had the same rank as him.
So this left him one method to get what he wanted.
He needed to eliminate his competitors, making him the Supreme Being of his homeworld.
"I hope you don’t resent me for this," Mammon muttered. "It’s nothing personal. It’s just good business."
"Don’t worry. We feel the same."
Before Mammon could react to the sudden voice, a fist firmly planted itself on his right cheek and sent him flying to the wall of the nearly bottom-less pit he was at.
It didn’t end there. Before he could even regain his composure, Belial and Pharzuph both appeared to kick his chest, sending him down to the darkness.
Mammon screamed in pain and to alert his allies about what was happening to him. However, as if reading his thoughts, Dumah appeared right beside him and whispered in his ears.
"You can scream all you want, but no one will hear you."
The Celestial of Silence had used his powers to block out any sound and energy fluctuation, preventing anyone from knowing what was happening in Godfall Cradle.
Thirteen had taken all the Celestials and Fiends inside Rocky’s Mobile Fortress, agreeing to ambush Mammon and beat the crap out of him before his reinforcements arrived.
Dumah made sure that Mammon wouldn’t be able to detect their approach, which allowed them to catch the Fiend of Greed off guard.
"This is nothing personal," Forneus used an uppercut to hit Mammon, who was falling in his direction.
"It’s just good business!" Dantanian appeared right above Mammon and slammed his foot on the Fiend’s head, rattling his brain in the process.
Mammon was not the strongest among the fiends. He relied on schemes, bribes, and his sturdiness to get by in the world. He might have been able to defend himself if he were only dealing with a Celestial or two.
But he was facing off against all of his colleagues, whom he had planned to eliminate to reach Godhood.
None of them held back. They punched, kicked, body slammed, and double-teamed the greedy Fiend, whose body now oozed with golden blood.
After getting beaten non-stop for nearly ten minutes, the Fiends and Celestials finally stopped.
Cahethal wrapped countless shackles around the Fiend’s body, making sure he couldn’t escape even if he wanted to.
"It’s... futile," Mammon said through gritted teeth. "You can beat me, but you can’t beat the Infernals!"
"So what?" Forneus asked before smacking Mammon’s face with his fist. "So what if we can’t beat the Infernals? At least we can beat you!"
Zaphiel watched as Forneus continue to beat up Mammon with a satisfied look on his face.
He still carried a grudge after being scammed by the Fiend, who tried to benefit from all his hard work.
He had spent time, resources, and manpower to gather the divine keys, making him the most upset about Mammon’s betrayal.
Suddenly, Zaphiel looked up and narrowed his eyes.
He wasn’t the only one who felt the arrival of a powerful pressure that triggered his anxiety.
"They’re here," Thirteen said while standing on top of Rocky’s head. "Everyone, you know what to do, right?"
The Celestials, and the Fiends nodded and flew upward.
Thirteen summoned a purple portal and ordered Rocky to toss Mammon inside. The teenage boy was certain that Mammon and his Eldest would have a long, nice talk with each other.
"Let’s go Rocky," Thirteen ordered. "It’s time to finally put an end to this game."
Rocky nodded and sent its Master back to the Mobile Fortress. Since this wasn’t the time for Thirteen to make an appearance yet, Rocky would take him to a place where its Master could use his ability to the fullest.

A/N: I was supposed to write two Chapters today, but I wasn’t able to do it because my editor didn’t finish editing the Chapters of the new book that I plan to publish today.
Yes. since System’s POV is now about to end, I decided to start another story which focus on "Kingdom Building". Unlike System’s POV who was a bit serious, that novel will be very wholesome, and will definitely put a smile on your face.
I originally planned to post 34 Chapters for it. But, things weren’t meant to be. My editor didn’t meet my deadline, and I was forced to edit parts of it myself. This took out a lot of time.
I apologize for not being able to update two Chapters today. Regular Chapters will resume tomorrow.
And, just in case you are all wondering about the title of the new story that I published, it’s called "My Kingdom Building Done Right!"
Feel free to check it out, and be part of a journey that is just about to begin.
