Taming His Demon Lover-Chapter 24: Something quite unexpected
The vicar pressed, "your hesitation is making me think that you’re getting cold feet."
"That’s not the case," replied Robin frantically. "I was just organizing my thoughts."
"I see."
"Let me begin. I, Robin McDougal, take Andras Mulciber to be my lawfully wedded husband as long as we both shall agree. When you need a friend, I will be your best friend. When you need help, you can count on me through thick and thin. When you need a listening ear, I’ll be there. When you need care, I’ll be there in sickness and in health. When you want to try something new, I will encourage you. And when you support me, I will also appreciate you. I’m open to working things out and facing challenges together. I promise to do the same things that Andras promised, except the obey part. Heaven knows that Andras can be a bit arrogant and uptight so I’ll only obey when it’s reasonable and practical. Not to mention he’s a pirate so he won’t always be ethical, right? I’ll respect him as long as he shows me the same courtesy and respect my boundaries and most importantly doesn’t inhibit my freedom. You might have been chosen for me by Queen Tiandra but I chose you today. I’m not much of a fighter but I’m willing to learn and fight alongside you. As long as you’re willing to cherish me, your people will become mine and I’m willing to work and explore this life with you, this I promise you."
Everyone realized that Robin wasn’t going to stop until he had all his expectations from the marriage covered. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Andras allowed Robin to speak what he felt and didn’t even once try to interrupt his long winded speech.
Instead, Andras seemed to find the sound of Robin’s voice soothing and relaxed beside him, folded his arms across his chest, and closed his eyes.
To outsiders their master looked bored, but every once in a while a quick smile would appear on Andras’ face.
Only then the vicar realized Andras was paying attention and seemed to find amusement in Robin spilling his guts.
Then Robin stopped talking and there was only silence.
Malachi nudged Zagan and whispered, "is he finally done saying his vows."
"Are you finished my boy," asked the vicar sheepishly.
"I think so but I’m willing to repeat them if you want me to," replied Robin earnestly.
In astonishment, everyone on the podium and in the audience shouted no at the same time.
Robin was so startled by the crowd’s energy when they had been listless and silent just a moment ago.
His green eyes widened and Robin looked to Andras for support.
Andras complied, "We’ve both said what we believe, vicar you may continue."
Wiping his brow, the vicar exclaimed, "You may exchange the rings."
Andras looked to one of his men, the shortest of the giants on the podium with flamboyant blue hair.
The man nodded and pulled a flute from his pockets, he started to dance to a jig.
How he played the flute was magical, almost like it was a part of him and then something unexpected happened.
A large wave of water splashed onto the ship’s deck, wetting everyone’s clothes.
It was a group of dolphins!
They were performing for the marriage ceremony and seemed to be moving with music of the flute.
Almost like they were serenading them with dances and various out of water flips and gliding across the water on their fins and using their bodies to make hearts in a synchronized fashion.
They impressed this hard to please crowd of pirates with an energetic and harmonious display.
When the man played one large sharp sounding note, the largest dolphin that seemed to be the leader broke away from the group.
Jumped out of the water and landed on the deck, the dolphin crawled down the white carpet and the flute player nudged Robin to go meet him.
Surprised, Robin after a bit of prodding shyly got off the podium and went to meet the dolphin halfway.
As soon as Robin was facing the dolphin, it stuck out his long tongue, resting on it was a small black suede jewelry box.
"Thank you," said Robin in awe as he removed the wet box from the porpoise’s tongue.
The dolphin nodded then quickly made its way back down the aisle before chucking off the deck into the deep blue ocean.
Robin waved the dolphins off as they disappeared from sight before returning to the podium.
"You may now exchange rings," said the Vicar.
Even though the vicar was impressed he did his best to sound calm.
The vicar doubted there would ever be another wedding to top this one for years to come.
Everyone waited to see what the rings looked like inside, it was even Andras’ first time laying eyes on them himself.
This was a priceless heirloom from his mother’s side of the family.
When Oceanus turned up for this wedding Andras knew he had the approval from his mother’s folks which had not occurred with his previous marriage.
These rings were not normal either, so they decided to put them on each other at the same time.
The wedding bands were platinum with an intricate design and dotted with tiny sparkling diamonds and pearls.
As the rings touched their skin it magically adjusted to fit their fingers perfectly and could not be easily removed.
Under the rays of the sun, the vicar thought it must be the luck of the faeries to have such good weather as they were in the middle of the rainy season.
His clothes were stained with perspiration, getting this young couple married today had already proven to be a most strenuous undertaking.
"You are now legally partners for life," the vicar announced.
After the uproarious resounding cheer ended the vicar finally said what everyone was waiting for.
"You may kiss your bride."
The vicar felt so relieved that the hellish ordeal was finally over and couldn’t wait to get a bite to eat.
While for the newly married couple it felt like time stood still, this would be their first kiss!
Andras leaned down to give him a proper kiss and put his hands on Robin’s waist.
Effectively cutting off his escape and to keep Robin from pulling away from him.
To his surprise Robin did something quite unexpected.
