Taming The Hidden Bigshot By Kissing Him-Chapter 36 - She’s My Treasure
Chapter 36: Chapter 36 She’s My Treasure
Both of them got out of the car.
Huo Xingzhou spoke with a calm expression, “You must be tired today, go back and have a good sleep. Tomorrow is the foundation ceremony of the Huo Group, and we need to attend.”
His tone was indifferent, as if everything that happened in the car hadn’t occurred.
Qiao Xi secretly sighed with relief.
He had warned her, to live like a widow without even the indulgence of cravings.
He was simply influenced by the medication, and it wasn’t that he had any thoughts about her.
...
She felt a bit relieved, yet unexpectedly, also somewhat disappointed.
Qiao Xi asked, “Will grandma and Jiaojiao go?”
“They don’t want to, saying it’s upsetting to watch.” Huo Xingzhou understood. It’s just that he didn’t want to make it clear that tomorrow was about watching a good show, rather than adding to the frustration.
“Alright then. Mr. Huo, good night.”
“Good night.”
Qiao Xi bade him goodnight and returned to her room. She was originally very tired, but felt exceptionally alert after taking a bath. Lying in bed, she couldn’t help but flip through the photos in the album on her phone.
The photographer’s assistant had already sent her the originals.
Her finger paused, coming across those kissing photos. Qiao Xi recalled the deep kiss from the day, the shameless indulgence in the car, and felt so embarrassed that her toes curled up.
She patted her burning cheeks with her hand, “Qiao Xi, pull yourself together. Mr. Huo has just been taking too many tonics recently, he didn’t mean anything by it.”
She didn’t know why the two of them had ended up embracing and kissing for so long, as if possessed.
She wanted to delete those intimate photos, but in the end, couldn’t bring herself to do it and just moved them to a secured album.
She finally picked a dignified photo of herself in a traditional Chinese wedding dress with a phoenix crown, planning to show it to her grandmother, so she could be reassured.
It’s just that the old lady had been wanting to return to the countryside recently, and the doctor said her body could only recover to this extent and that she could be discharged.
Qiao Xi frowned in distress, yawned, and was overcome with a strong desire to sleep.
She slept until dawn.
Aunt Qian had prepared a delicious breakfast.
“The Zhou’s Xiaolongbao that the young master wanted to eat the other day, and the sticky rice that the Young Madam had been thinking about,” Aunt Qian presented the breakfast she had bought.
“Thank you, Aunt Qian.”
Qiao Xi said softly.
Sitting aside, Huo Xingzhou looked up, noticing that she had put on light makeup today, which was a bit different from her usual look.
“You two enjoy, I’ll go to the kitchen to check on the young master’s medicine,” Aunt Qian liked being busy in and out.
Qiao Xi laughed and sat next to Huo Xingzhou, pouring him a glass of fresh milk, “Mr. Huo, for calcium.”
“Okay.”
He responded.
“Do I need to do anything for today’s foundation ceremony?” Qiao Xi turned to ask him. Huo Xingzhou didnt avoid her when he spoke to Zhou Yu.
She guessed that Huo Xingzhou had some tricks up his sleeve.
“Just stay by my side and be a vase,” he said elegantly while eating breakfast, “Don’t try to be a hero.”
“I will be obedient.”
She wouldn’t be as impulsive as last time.
The two left the house at nine in the morning.
The foundation ceremony was set in the Western Suburbs, a grand scene. Two kilometers away from the entrance, balloons and firecrackers were set up, along with huge banners.
A bit closer, there were excavators and bulldozers adorned with big red flowers, lined up imposingly.
The car stopped in a nearby parking lot, and the construction ceremony even had a lion dance troupe.
From afar, they could see a group of well-dressed business tycoons flattering members of the Huo Family’s main house. All the notable families of Haicheng, including the Xu, Sun, and Nan families, had sent representatives.
Qiao Xi saw that Young Master Sun was also there.
“The second branch of the Huo Family has arrived.”
“Are they looking for humiliation? This project was originally his responsibility. To think he’d watch his hard work fall into someone else’s hands, tsk tsk.”
Huo Beiting walked briskly, with the enchanting Su Weiwei by his side, arrogance in his brow as he approached Huo Xingzhou, “I thought you wouldn’t come.”
“How could I miss such a glorious moment for my cousin?”
Huo Xingzhou said indifferently.
Huo Beiting was full of smugness, “I know it’s hard for you to accept, but who can blame you for your weak constitution? Why don’t you stay in the hospital for a few more days?”
Zhuo Feng said if this happens a few more times, Huo Xingzhou would be dead.
Huo Beiting looked at him with eyes full of mock sympathy, like a cat mourning a mouse.
“Xingzhou, why aren’t your parents here?” Wang Fengxian, dressed in a bright red cheongsam, came over and said, “Even your grandfather is present. Do they think they are more important than the old man?”
She glanced at Qiao Xi with scorn: “I’m not blaming you, but even a country girl like you is treasured, carried around everywhere without a sense of shame.”
Huo Xingzhou’s expression remained calm, a faint smile fleeting across his eyes, “Great Aunt, she is indeed my treasure.”
“Second Young Master, I heard Qiao Xi is interning at the hospital. Even her biological mother has to obediently queue up to see her. Such a daughter is just bad luck. You call her your treasure?”
Su Weiwei stood arrogantly, scoffing.
“Would it be better to treasure someone like you?” Huo Xingzhou retorted disdainfully, his eyes and eyebrows laced with mockery, “Your intense interest in whom I treasure, is it due to lingering old feelings?”
In the past, Su Weiwei did have a fondness for Huo Xingzhou. Back then, who didn’t love him?
“Enough!”
Huo Beiting’s face was filled with hostility, and after the foundation stone ceremony, he planned to dump Su Weiwei.
After all, she no longer had any value to him.
“Beiting, the foundation-laying ceremony is about to begin. Don’t get entangled with useless people and disappoint your grandfather,” Huo Jianjun reminded him indifferently.
“Yes, Father.”
Huo Beiting cast a scornful look at Huo Xingzhou before leaving.
As the Huo Family’s main branch left, Huo Xingzhou spoke up, “Let’s get closer so we can see clearly.”
“Okay.”
Qiao Xi pushed him further in.
People huddled in circles around the foundation stone, and they stopped at the outermost edge, next to the elder of the Huo Family, who was dressed in Tang attire embroidered with pine patterns and leaning on a cane, his face stern, flanked by two bodyguards.
When he saw Huo Xingzhou, he asked coldly and indifferently, “How’s your leg?”
“Thanks to your blessing, it’s fine.”
“Hmph, still pretending to be strong,” the old Mr. Huo scoffed coldly.
He had recently suffered from coldness in his back, making him look much older with his hunched back. His limbs ached day and night, and even after summoning Zhuo Feng for acupuncture, it was a temporary solution, not a cure.
The old man, wise all his life, immediately guessed that Zhuo Feng was not Cheng Han’s disciple.
But he didn’t expose it.
Huo Xingzhou was disabled in both legs and was rumored to be sterile. In the future, the Huo Group would still have to be handed over to the main branch, so the old elder didn’t want to create unnecessary conflict.
“If the treatment doesn’t work, then let it be. The Huo Family will ensure you live in wealth for the rest of your life, and I won’t take back that 5% of the shares. Consider it a dividend for your second branch.”

He seemed benevolent, yet was extremely biased.
The old man had given the main branch 20% of the shares, the second branch a mere 5%, and he himself retained 30%. With 55% of the shares in the hands of the Huo Family, they held absolute control, and the rest belonged to minor shareholders.
“Thank you for your charity, Grandfather.”
Huo Xingzhou had long become accustomed to this unfairness and still managed to wear a faint smile on his face.
Old Mr. Huo glared at him, chiding, “Don’t be sarcastic, complaining about fate and others.”
Qiao Xi, standing by the side, felt uncomfortable for Huo Xingzhou’s sake.
“Grandfather, you should pay more attention to my cousin,” Huo Xingzhou said carelessly while sitting in his wheelchair, “I heard he staked 20% of the shares in a wagering agreement with Tianyuan Group for Future City.”
If he lost, the main branch wouldn’t have a single share left, and even the Huo Family’s absolute control over the Huo Group might be lost.
The elder was startled.
His old face turned serious, his breath showing clear anger.
“Foolish thing!”
As his words fell,
The lively crowd suddenly became noisy and agitated, with constant exclamations!
