Tempest of the Stellar War-Chapter 1419: Breakthrough
Aslan displayed their intentions clearly, just like the Solar System. They were not going to attack. Instead, they would rely on the Aslan Empire’s defense system. The council had a huge debate over it years ago for such a huge investment into defense. Why was there a need for a defense system if they were already this strong?
Facts proved that it was right to plan ahead. The Aslan people debated hard, but they treated the matter very seriously. This defense system was going to save their lives.
Their opponent, however, was a rare military genius — Ren Yixuan. Ren Yixuan was now the chief strategist of the Arbiter Republic’s fleet, where even a few admirals made way for him. Everyone knew he was the real decision maker. That was also why the Arbiter Republic was so strong. No one would hinder Ren Yixuan’s way just because of his youth and qualifications.
The strongest was the most respected, while Xie Yuxin could only be a secretary on Earth.
The Arbiter Republic and the Maya Empire launched a large scale attack but was met with resistance from the strong defense system of the Aslan Empire. Aslan’s satellite chain defense system was indeed amazing. Their astronomical annual maintenance fee wasn’t paid in vain. Ren Yixuan’s game wasn’t perfect either. It didn’t have that overwhelming advantage like in fleet warfare. Of course, the system was also a treasure left behind by Kashawen.
The Arbiter Republic didn’t deal with the situation. They launched multi-directional attacks when they started encountering difficulties attacking from the front. They created international pressure and attracted alliances at the same time. That was Ren Yixuan’s strategy. Arbiter would suffer heavy losses if they were to go all out on Aslan. It would be impossible to conquer the Aslan Empire this way. Therefore, Ren Yixuan had to create a force to seal the core of the Aslan Empire’s territory, trapping them. The Aslan and Mayan ambassadors were on the move as well in a bid to sway some of the greedy nations.
In fact, some countries had secretly supported Arbiter’s fleet. That was also showing their position. That would be in their favor when Arbiter took Aslan down.
Other than their successful defense on the main battlefield, Aslan’s five core planets and star fields had begun to fall. Aslan had a strong fighting force, but they were unable to resist such a huge force. Ren Yixuan was a pain in the *ss. He stayed in the main battlefield and attracted Aslan’s core fleet, resulting in them having weaker forces in other regions. The core fleet didn’t dare to take Ren Yixuan lightly.
It was a process of slow death. Their morale might still be high, but how long could Aslan last after losing their satellites and resources?
Aina didn’t know. She couldn’t think about anything long-term now. She couldn’t tell day from night now, but she knew she could not fall. She would persist until the very last moment, even though she didn’t know if she was right or wrong. However, as the queen, she needed to fight with her warriors to the end.
Huiyin wasn’t idle either. She went to different camps every day to encourage the soldiers. She was instrumental in keeping the morale of their people alive in such a dire situation. The poor little thing’s voice cracked, but she agreed with her big sister’s decision and she firmly believed that Aslan would prevail in the end.
Where was victory?
No one could see any direction now, they could only persevere.
There were three major factions within the Milky Way Alliance now. Aslan and Arbiter with the largest scale of battle. Next was Manalasuo and the Hail Cloud Alliance against the Sirius Star. The Sirius Star bared their wolf fangs when forced to the wall. Manalasuo and the Hail Cloud Alliance’s ambitions were reeled in. The Sirius Star adopted a different kind of containment warfare. They would never give in.
That caused Manalasuo a huge headache. They hoped to obtain power through occupation, but they loathed this characteristic of the wolf planet. Nonetheless, they could no longer turn back. They could only destroy the Sirius Star in one breath, which was the most difficult part of their war.
Victory was inevitable to Bolet. The problem was how to obtain it. The strategist of Manalasuo was considering his moves. Jondi Lilick was smart, that was without a doubt. His performance in war was outstanding. Manalasuo had been learning, learning from Arbiter, learning from Aslan. The pressure they faced was smaller, and so was the attention they received. However, they were the country that was the most willing to try new things in the Milky Way Alliance. From mecha, to warships, to tactics, the whole country advocated innovation. That brought them to where they were now. However, they weren’t as strong as Arbiter and Aslan in terms of foundation. Bolet wasn’t someone who liked to use “brute force”, as there were always more solutions than problems. They only had to solve the current predicament they were in.
From the start, Bolet didn’t think this would be an easy battle. Variables always existed. The Hail Cloud Alliance was satisfied with occupying the smaller satellites and showcasing their military power. They wouldn’t fight over territory with Manalasuo, that was why they were so in sync. Of course, Manalasuo didn’t expect the Hail Cloud Alliance to do much in their battle. Every country in the Milky Way Alliance was securing their own place.
Jondi Lilick came, saying he had something important to discuss. Bolet was surprised. Of course he would meet him, no matter how busy he was. Jondi was someone he could trust. Bolet frowned after listening to Jondi Lilick’s report. “What do you think of Lear?”
“I didn’t think much of him at the start, but my mind’s changed now. I went to the Oracle Star before. He left it alive and has obviously undergone a very huge change. I believe that means that the genetic modification succeeded and is a match with his abilities. This person has great ambition and is really shrewd. He will do anything to succeed,” Jondi Lilick said. He was surprised when Lear sought him out, but Lear’s proposal intrigued him.
Anyone else would have ignored it, but Jondi Lilick was from Manalasuo. He didn’t care what Lear’s position was, the important thing was what he wanted and what could he bring to Manalasuo.
Bolet smiled slightly. “Everyone has ambition, but one’s ambition has to match their strength. I want to meet him and hear him out about this so-called New Human Project. Manalasuo as the conqueror of the universe, now that’s a bold statement.”
