Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Fame Shakes the Heavenly Dao Institute

The Heavenly Dao Academy was the Sacred Institute of Martial Dao in the Great Xia Dynasty. Top prodigies from across the dynasty came here to continue their studies and cultivation.

On this particular day, the Heavenly Dao Academy was bustling with excitement. It was the designated reporting day, and prodigious youths from various cities were arriving to register.

Carriage after carriage arrived from afar, stopping at the academy’s main gates. Young figures emerged from within them.

As they arrived, these individuals greeted one another. From this day forward, they would all be fellow students of the academy. During their introductions, the young prodigies began asking, "Are you from Yun Province? Are you the Young Pill King?"

"I’m not."

"You’ve heard about that Young Pill King, too?"

"Damn, it sounds too insane. I feel like the story is fake; how could anyone be that incredible?"

"A 16-year-old First Grade Alchemy Master who also refined top-grade elixirs!"

"I find that hard to believe."

"Me neither. It sounds like something out of a myth."

"Well, there’s no need to be anxious. That Young Pill King will arrive soon enough. Then we’ll know if the rumors are true or not."

The crowd buzzed with discussion as they all waited for the Young Pill King.

Among them, Sun Tian and Liu Ruyue had also arrived, their expressions growing complex as they listened. They were filled with envy. Back in Cloud Sea City, they were considered top geniuses; who in the entire city didn’t know their names? But here, there were simply too many geniuses. The two of them had become utterly ordinary, completely unnoticed.

Yet everyone here was focused on Lin Xuan.

Though he hadn’t even arrived yet, his reputation had already spread throughout the Heavenly Dao Academy. Everyone knew about this Young Pill King. It was obvious that not long after Lin Xuan arrived, he would soar to great heights.

Alas, it seems there’s no chance for revenge. Sun Tian sighed inwardly. Being forced to kneel and apologize to Lin Xuan was the greatest shame of his life. If he ever got the chance, he would certainly seek vengeance, but now, that chance seemed impossibly slim.

Just then, another carriage halted. A young man clad in a white robe emerged. He was astonishingly handsome, with eyes as bright as stars. His arrival, however, did not draw the attention of others, but Liu Ruyue saw him.

She immediately grew nervous. "Lin Xuan, he’s here!"

Upon hearing this, Sun Tian, who was standing beside her, also looked up. He saw that it was indeed Lin Xuan stepping down from the carriage.

After stepping down, Lin Xuan gazed around. So many people! Are they all here to report to the Heavenly Dao Academy? There are truly so many geniuses.

"Greetings, brother. My name is Zhang Yang. May I ask your name?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Oh, my name is Lin Xuan."

"Lin Xuan? Where are you from?"

"Cloud Sea City."

Hearing this, Zhang Yang’s eyes went wide. He exclaimed, "You’re the Young Pill King!"

At his words, all the surrounding prodigies turned to look, and countless gazes fixed upon Lin Xuan.

Lin Xuan was taken aback. Am I really that famous? Does everyone already know about the Young Pill King?

He smiled. "If you’re talking about the Young Pill King from Yun Province, then I suppose that’s me."

"Holy crap, it’s really you! I finally get to see you in person!" Zhang Yang jumped up excitedly.

With a great clamor, the other prodigies rushed over, surrounding Lin Xuan.

"Young Master Lin, are you really only sixteen years old?"

"Young Master Lin, did you truly refine a top-grade elixir?"

Lin Xuan nodded.

The crowd of geniuses was utterly shocked. Now they were certain: the rumors were indeed true.

"Young Master Lin, my name is Wang Li, from the Wang Family of Celestial River City."

"Young Master Lin, I’m Wu Ming from Celestial Fire City."

"Young Master Lin, my name is..."

One by one, the prodigies warmly introduced themselves to Lin Xuan. They all wanted to befriend him. It was no surprise, as Lin Xuan’s talent was simply too formidable. Although he was only a First Grade Alchemy Master for now, his future was boundless. He would surely become an Alchemy King one day.

It was well known that the status of an Alchemy King in the Great Xia Dynasty was incredibly lofty. Getting an Alchemy King to refine an elixir was as difficult as ascending to the heavens. Once Lin Xuan reached that level, they wouldn’t even be qualified to associate with him. Therefore, they planned to build a good relationship with him now, while he was still young and just a First Grade Alchemy Master. That way, when he eventually became an Alchemy King, they too could rise to prominence alongside him.

Everyone rushed forward, leaving only two figures behind: Sun Tian and Liu Ruyue. The pair stared at Lin Xuan, who was now being adored by the crowd, their hearts filled with a complex mix of emotions.

"Brother, you’re here."

At that moment, a young man walked over and came to Sun Tian’s side. It was Sun Tian’s older brother, Sun Hao.

"Brother," Sun Tian said, looking at Sun Hao as his eyes reddened, on the verge of tears.

Sun Hao patted Sun Tian’s shoulder. "I heard about what happened back home," he said. "Don’t worry, I’ll get revenge for you. I will absolutely not let that Lin Xuan get away with it." A cold killing intent flared in his eyes. "I am now a One-Star Martial General."

The first realm of the Martial Dao is the Martial Artist, a stage focused on refining the physique and enhancing strength. The second realm is the Martial General, where one condenses Spirit Veins within the body. Spirit Veins can store Spiritual Power, and when this power is unleashed during a fight, its might is extremely formidable. A Martial General’s strength completely surpasses that of a Martial Artist; even dozens of Martial Artists combined could not defeat a single Martial General.

And Sun Hao was now a One-Star Martial General.

So what if that Lin Xuan was talented? In his eyes, the boy was just an ant he could crush with one hand. I can barely hold back from seeking revenge on him right now.

Sun Tian shook his head. "Brother, don’t do it. Let’s not seek revenge."

"No revenge? Why?" Sun Hao asked. "You don’t need to be afraid of that kid. He may be a genius in Cloud Sea City, but here, he’s just an ordinary person. No one will pay him any attention. There are too many geniuses here, far more dazzling than him. Making a move on him would be child’s play."

Sun Tian nearly burst into tears when he heard that. Ordinary here? He pointed ahead and said, "Brother, Lin Xuan is over there."

"Where is he? I’ll go crush him right now," Sun Hao said, seething with anger as he turned to look.

But one look was all it took to leave him stunned.

He saw countless prodigies gathered around a single youth. That youth, the center of everyone’s attention, looked like a descended immortal.

He stared, momentarily dazed. Who is this person? For so many prodigies to flock to him, he must be someone extraordinary. He can’t be one of the top prodigies from the Imperial City, can he?

He knew that the Heavenly Dao Academy had admitted many geniuses this year. Among them were a few with exceptional talent who had reached the Ninth Grade Martial Artist realm at a very young age, just one step away from becoming a Martial General. This young man before him was very likely one of those top prodigies.

Sun Hao asked, "Where is this Lin Xuan you mentioned? Which one is he in the crowd? Point him out to me."

In his mind, Lin Xuan was probably just one of the fawning crowd members, trying to curry favor with this remarkable genius. He planned to crush Lin Xuan and then go befriend that young prodigy himself.
