Ten Thousand Soul Banner: Deceased, do you have any unfulfilled wishes?-Chapter 1043 - 1039: Solutions
Although Ruan Hongzhuang couldn’t see ghosts, she had long figured out the ropes from daily interactions.
Just now, a chill wind passed quietly by, and her heart’s alarm slightly tingled. When she saw Shen Siyuan’s gaze suddenly fixate on an empty spot ahead, she was instantly certain that "someone" had arrived.
"Is it Dou Dou or Duoduo?"
She leaned closer to Shen Siyuan, lowered her voice, and asked, assuming it was those two restless little ones following them.
"No, it’s Xiao Yue."
Shen Siyuan’s voice was calm but carried a hint of imperceptible seriousness.
"Xiao Yue?" Ruan Hongzhuang’s heart tightened, understanding immediately. She quickly waved her hand, "It must be something urgent, you guys go ahead, we’ll make our way home, we know the way."
Jiang Yingxue, who had lived with Shen Siyuan for a time, was unsurprised by such situations.
So she chimed in, "Yes, don’t worry about us. We know the way, handle your business. We can take care of ourselves."
Ruan Xiangqian stood aside, puzzled.
They were just walking normally, then suddenly they mentioned something urgent. If it were anyone else being so "neglectful," as the head of a company, he would inevitably feel displeased, given how impolite it seemed.
But this was Shen Siyuan, his extraordinary son-in-law who was always taking care of big issues. It must indeed be something urgent that couldn’t be delayed.
Thinking this way, Ruan Xiangqian suppressed his doubts and didn’t utter a complaint.
"I’ll drive you to the car first," Shen Siyuan said, glancing at the anxious expression of Xiao Yue, evidently urgent.
He had already learned from Xiao Yue about Huang Lancai’s situation and decided he would go check it out.
After seeing off Mr. and Mrs. Ruan Xiangqian, Shen Siyuan then turned and disappeared with Xiao Yue.
Outside the car window, Shen Siyuan’s figure vanished from sight, prompting Ruan Xiangqian’s curiosity, "What was so urgent for Xiao Shen? Was it really that critical?"
"Xiao Yue came to him. It must be urgent," Ruan Hongzhuang explained.
"Ask him about it when he returns."
Ruan Xiangqian wanted to ask more, but a gentle hand suddenly covered his on the back.
He turned and met Jiang Yingxue’s smiling eyes, and his wife gently shook her head.
"Xiao Shen is not a child who disregards courtesy. If he’s rushing like this, there must be a reason," Jiang Yingxue said softly.
"I know, I’m just curious."
Ruan Xiangqian smiled without saying more.
At his level, he had enjoyed everything he could and could more or less get whatever he wanted, so rarely did things pique his interest.
Yet things like immortal cultivation and ghost gods, with their mysterious powers, had become his current interest.
Previously unknown, and now, having personal contact, he couldn’t help but want to explore.
As events unfolded everywhere, each had its own story.
When Shen Siyuan and Xiao Yue arrived at Huang Lancai’s residence, the stone table in the courtyard had already been set with tea, awaiting their arrival.
She sat in the very place Lady Huang used to frequent, maintaining the same elegance and composure as before.
However, this elegance against the backdrop of the scene seemed particularly eerie. The once vibrant courtyard had decayed into desolation, overgrown with weeds, withered branches, and fallen leaves scattered everywhere.
She herself was emaciated to the bone, with her loose robes hanging freely, her skin tightly clinging to her skeleton, prominent veins, deep-set eyes, entirely enveloped by a heavy Cold Yin Qi, like a skeleton walking out of the Netherworld.
Even well-traveled Shen Siyuan couldn’t help but gasp at the sight of her condition.
It had only been a few short months, yet she had declined into such a state.
"Mr. Shen, Xiao Yue, you’re here."
Huang Lancai lifted her eyes, her voice elusive and ethereal. She gestured for them to sit.
"Please sit, have a cup of tea."
"Sister Huang! Of all times, you’re still thinking about tea!"
Xiao Yue stomped her foot in impatience and quickly advanced, "Let brother take a look at you quickly!"
Huang Lancai responded with a faint smile.
But with her now haggard face, the smile appeared somewhat eerie to others.
"Thank you for bringing Mr. Shen. Now that he’s here, there’s no rush in another moment."
Shen Siyuan sat across from her, watching the tea smoke curl up from the cup, he sighed softly, "Such a big matter, why didn’t you tell me earlier?"
Not just because Lady Huang and Grandpa Liu were now his reliable subordinates, but having known Huang Lancai for a long time, they were considered friends.
If she really had difficulty, she could have come to him for help.
"I initially thought I could resolve it myself."
Huang Lancai lifted the teapot, poured Shen Siyuan a cup of tea, her voice low and soft, "But by the time I realized it, it was beyond redemption. I didn’t want you to see me like this..."
Shen Siyuan paused at her words, taking a sip from the teacup, the flavor crisp and rich just like before, and he smiled slightly, "Still the same taste as before."
"As long as you like it."
Warmth flickered in Huang Lancai’s eyes as she refilled Xiao Yue’s cup.
"The tea can wait."
Shen Siyuan put down the teacup, his expression turning serious, "Let me check your condition first."
Huang Lancai looked at him, her sunken eyes filled with expectation, "It would be a great favor from Mr. Shen."
"Between us, there’s no need for such politeness." Shen Siyuan gestured for her to extend her hand.
Huang Lancai thought he was going to feel her pulse, so she slowly extended her wrist.
The wrist was so thin it was just skin, with visible veins, a shocking sight.
"I’m afraid I don’t even have a pulse now," she said with a self-mocking laugh.
"I’m not checking your pulse." Shen Siyuan laughed gently, placing his palm directly over hers.
The moment their hands touched, Huang Lancai instinctively wanted to withdraw, but quickly restrained herself.
A warm energy flowed from Shen Siyuan’s hand, dispelling some of the Cold Yin Qi within her.
After a moment, Shen Siyuan withdrew his hand, pondering, "It’s not a big issue. You have a unique constitution, as a descendant of Netherworld’s inhabitants. Your bloodline is connected to the Netherworld. Since the Qiongzhou Netherworld reopened, its Cold Yin Qi has been attracted by your bloodline, continuously invading your body, overburdening it, resulting in your current state."
His diagnosis aligned with what Huang Lancai previously told Xiao Yue.
Huang Lancai, being no ordinary person, couldn’t solve her predicament but could see the root of the problem.
Huang Lancai quickly withdrew her hand, covering her wrist with her sleeve as if unwilling for others to witness her plight.
"There are currently two solutions to resolve this," Shen Siyuan said slowly.
"Two?" A glimmer of joy flashed in Huang Lancai’s eyes.
Beside her, Xiao Yue proudly raised her chin, her face beaming with "I knew brother would have a solution."
"The first solution, I help you disperse the Cold Yin Qi in your body, then seal your Netherworld bloodline."
Shen Siyuan explained slowly, "This way, you can return to your previous state and not be troubled by the Cold Yin Qi in the future."
Huang Lancai was initially pleased but quickly calmed down.
