The Alpha's Villainess Wife-Chapter 14: You Can’t Kill Him!
Eve grumbled under her breath.
"You spend like you have enough to last you a lifetime."
[I spend more than that monthly on abandoned pups in the orphanage. Why are you complaining?]
Eve pulled a face. "I am not complaining, I’m just—you know what, never mind. I’ll gladly spend your money."
[Good. As you should. Wouldn’t it be ridiculous if you—]
"Shhhh." She got up from the VIP seat. "There he is. I think he’s heading to the restroom."
Her gaze shifted to Patro who was moving out of the hall. The auction wasn’t over yet and this was something they needed to handle before the crowd began to leave.
Eve hurried on her feet toward the direction Patro took. Her gaze would cross here and there, ensuring no one was following or somehow found her suspicious because this was the way to the men’s restroom.
Patro was just about to go in when Eve snatched him by the arm, spinning him around.
"We need to talk!" And she began dragging him towards the operating room.
Patro couldn’t react. He was just blinking in shock as if he never expected her to behave this rashly with him.
Eve kicked open the door of the operating room, and closed it, locking it. Whoever was supposed to be in the operating room was nowhere to be found. Caius had done his job and everything was in place.
Patro peered at Eve like he could skin her alive. "What do you think you’re doing?"
"We need to talk!" she said to him.
Patro’s expression darkened and he took steps closer to her until her back was pressed to the door with nowhere to run.
[Eve]
"What is the meaning of this?" he questioned.
Eve breathed heavily but managed to press her hands to his chest, pushing him back. "T-those articles, they are your doings, aren’t they? It’s you, I know it’s you!" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The man watched her for a few moments before he broke into a chuckle, beautiful blue eyes crinkling. "You little shit. This is why you mustered up the courage to drag me in here, huh? What? Did you miss me or something?"
She made a disgusted face at him, causing his expression to further darken. "What is that stupid look on your face, huh? So what if I did? What are you going to do? Run to your dear husband Malakai? But what can he do for you?"
Malakai was fuming, she knew, because his emotions were mixing with hers. One way or the other, he wanted to unpossess her, but that would ruin things for them. They had yet to get what they wanted.
"Why did you have them write those things about me? You know none of them are true!"
"And who cares?" Patro asked. "Who will you tell? No one will believe a slut who found her way into Malakai’s pants overnight. It really baffles me how quickly you were able to seduce a man like him. I suppose any woman can get into his pants. What a shame."
"Patro—"
He snatched her by a good chunk of her bottom-length hair. "Did you think you’ve escaped me just because you found a way into his life? Did you really think he could save you from me? Oh, you don’t know just how far I can go. Who would ever believe you over Thee Patro Zolotov, huh? It’s all a lie, yes, everything in there, but what can you do about it?"
He leaned in closer to her. "I know what you’re trying to do by marrying Malakai, but it will never work, because I’ll destroy both you and him. I’ll make you taste hell, I’ll break you, Eve, and this is just the beginning. You’re merely having a taste of what I can do to you. Although..." He pulled back. "If you come back and grovel...maybe, just maybe I’ll forgive you for thinking you can be with him. I’ll have those articles taken down. What do you think?"
"So you can torment me all over again? Kill me when you’re satisfied?" Eve stared at him. "You’re...really going to go this far?"
"Kill you?" Patro’s lips curled into a slow smile, eyes slitting along with it. "No, sweetheart, I am over that idea. I like you alive, enough for me to break..." He snatched her chin, eyes fixed on her lips. "...Into pieces."
She breathed out. "What have I ever done to you?"
"Knowing too much. Assuming in that head of yours that you could ever stand up against a man like me, merely because I made your father pay for stealing from me. Eve, no one goes against me, not even you. I would cut you down the very instant you try. And this...you brought it upon yourself and I’ll see to the end of it. I’ll make sure to use you as an example."
"Is that so?" she asked and pointed at the screen. "Would you look at that then?"
Patro frowned and turned his gaze to the screen, his brow quirked. "What the heck is that?"
"Everyone within that hall heard every conversation we had, Patro," Eve said. "Every single one of them!"
"Impossible!"
"Why do you think they look like that?" She began to walk towards him and snatched him by his tie, pulling him down so that he would level her height. Then she whispered to him, "Who will they believe now? You or this slut that found her way into Malakai’s pants?"
A toothy smile curled up on her lips. "You’re going to see to the end of this, Patro, but I’m not going to make it easy for you. Don’t get ahead of yourself. A few stupid write-ups in the tabloids doesn’t mean you’ve won."
He shoved her so roughly and she fell to the floor.
"You crazy woman!" He looked angry. In fact, angry was an understatement. He looked pissed! He stormed toward her and gripped her by the neck, lifting her off the floor. "Do you want me to kill you right here, huh? Who do you think you are? Who the hell—"
Malakai unpossessed Eve so fast, that Patro didn’t realize when his throat was reached for, grabbed, and sent flying across the room to slam into the wall, falling with a heavy thud. He lost consciousness instantly.
But Malakai wasn’t done with him. He was in his face, grabbing his neck and lifting him off the floor, his feet dangling in mid-air. He squeezed so hard in pure anger, his fingernails digging into his flesh.
"How dare you?"
Patro’s face turned so purple, but Malakai didn’t stop. He wanted to squeeze the life out of him. "She’s my wife, my mate, and she doesn’t belong to you. So don’t you ever put your hands on her. EVER AGAIN!"
"Malakai! No!" Eve rushed towards him and gripped his arm. "Malakai, you’re going to kill him! Let him go."
He looked down at Eve. "Are you worrying for him?"
She shook her head at me. "No! But do you think they don’t know I am the one here with him? They heard the two of us talking, remember? Let him go. Malakai, please! You can’t kill him. We’ve got what we need, now you need to let him go. PLEASE!"
