Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Yisen, Will There Be a Future for Us?

When Munni walked into the study room, he was standing in front of the bookshelf, choosing a black-and-white film that Munni had collected.

Munni walked to his side, her gaze swiftly scanning the large bookshelf before settling on the third shelf.

"Let’s watch ’Roman Holiday’," she said, reaching out to pull out the film’s CD.

Xu Yisen stared at the film in her hand, unable to resist expressing: "The last time we watched this movie together was ten years ago."

"Yes, indeed."

Munni picked up the remote control on the desk, gently pressed it, and the projector screen in front automatically slid down.

She placed the film into the DVD player and started the projector.

Within seconds, the film’s opening was projected onto the screen.

Xu Yisen turned off the lights in the study, and suddenly the room was illuminated only by the light from the projector screen.

The two walked to the sofa and sat down side by side, without speaking further, both seriously watching the screen.

During middle and high school, Munni was extremely fond of collecting black-and-white films, and ’Roman Holiday’ was the most classic among her collection, and also her favorite.

After watching the film for the first time, she thought that once she had a first love, she must watch it again with them.

Later, she met Xu Yisen, the young man who awakened her feelings.

She fulfilled her wish by inviting Xu Yisen to her home to watch ’Roman Holiday’ together. Though she fell asleep halfway through due to fatigue, upon waking, she resolutely told Xu Yisen—Yisen, I like you.

Halfway through the movie, Xu Yisen felt a weight on his shoulder. He glanced sideways and amusingly noticed, just like ten years ago, that she had fallen asleep halfway through again.

He returned his gaze to the screen, but his thoughts drifted back to ten years ago.

Back then, Munni fell asleep on his shoulder, only waking up an hour after the movie ended.

He lightly moved his nearly numb right arm, then heard Munni call his name.

He turned to look at Munni; she gazed at him seriously with wet, bright eyes, then opened her lips, speaking each word earnestly: "Yisen, I like you."

The soft light from the projector screen cast onto her, giving her a faint halo.

Her gaze carried a youthful persistence and subtle tension.

Under such focused attention, Xu Yisen’s heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

A moment later, as he regained his composure, he pretended not to see her seriousness and asked teasingly: "Not fully awake yet? Talking in your sleep?"

Munni seemed eager to explain her seriousness, showing a worried expression, but at that moment the housekeeper knocked and entered to remind Xu Yisen that his driver was waiting downstairs to take him home.

Munni had always mistakenly believed that Xu Yisen deeply loved Xia Yuge, and he married her only because he was tired of Bai Wan Yun pushing him to get married.

So, when he proposed to Munni, she looked at him with big black-and-white eyes and seriously asked: "Yisen, do we have a future?"

He paused briefly before nodding, answering: "Yes."

She said: "Because you said we do, I believe we definitely have a future. Yisen, I’m willing to marry you."

Some say the timing of when two people meet is very important. He wasn’t sure if he met Munni at the right time, but he knew... Since then, Munni had become a part of his life.
