The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife-Chapter 592: Munni’s Guidance is Good, but I Haven’t Learned Well Yet
At nine in the morning, they drove to the cemetery. Munni sat in the passenger seat, looking out at the grey sky, and sighed, "This weather really dampens the spirit."
"But the smile on your face can keep me happy all day."
Yisen’s flattering words made Munni somewhat amused and exasperated. She turned to Yisen and said, "Tsk tsk, your mouth gets more glib every day."
"Munni trains me well."
"I’m not praising you."
"Munni trains me well, but I haven’t learned properly yet."
"Oh, this is ridiculous."
Yisen’s playful remarks still managed to make Munni laugh, a gentle smile like a wave outlined her red lips.
On the way, the two chatted intermittently, it didn’t feel boring.
Midway through the journey, they stopped at a flower shop to buy two bouquets of white chrysanthemums, then continued on their way.
The closer they drove towards the cemetery, the fewer cars there were. The desolate roads against today’s already gloomy sky felt increasingly bleak.
Upon reaching the cemetery parking lot, Yisen parked the car, reached to the back seat for a black umbrella, opened the car door, and walked around to the passenger side to open Munni’s door.
Munni got out of the car, greeted by a biting cold wind, she instinctively tightened her black wool coat.
With one hand holding the flowers and the other held by Yisen, they walked in sync towards Mr. Qin’s tombstone.
Click clack.
In the silent cemetery, the sound of her high heels against the pavement was particularly clear and abrupt.
There was a light drizzle in the air with occasional gusts of cold wind. It truly wasn’t the sort of weather one would enjoy.
When they reached Mr. Qin’s tombstone, they unexpectedly saw a bouquet of fresh white chrysanthemums placed in front. It seemed to have been placed there not long ago.
"Who would come to sweep the tomb so early?" Munni murmured softly to herself as she stared at the bouquet of white chrysanthemums before the tombstone, then handed one of the bouquets in her arms to Yisen.
Yisen and Munni both leaned in to place their chrysanthemums in front of the tombstone, then bowed three times to Mr. Qin’s tombstone.
Thinking it might be a friend of Mr. Qin who came to visit, Munni and Yisen did not dwell too much on who might have left the chrysanthemums.
Munni gazed at the smiling photo of Mr. Qin on the tombstone and said softly, "It’s been over a year, I really miss you." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Yisen held the umbrella in one hand, and wrapped his other arm around Munni’s shoulders.
Munni gently leaned her head on his shoulder. His embrace was warm, shielding her from the wind and melting away the cold.
"Yisen and I are engaged, I really want to share this good news with you."
Munni suddenly recalled when Yisen first proposed to her, she went home and told her father. Her father’s expression showed both joy and concern.
Yisen looked at the photo of Mr. Qin and said softly, "Dad, I will take good care of Munni and live up to your expectations of me."
Out of the corner of her eye, Munni saw Yisen’s serious and sincere expression as he spoke, as if making a promise to the departed Mr. Qin.
They didn’t linger long in the cemetery; due to the weather, they left after a short while.
