Chapter 1691: Chapter 1681: Garden Party (Part 2)

As they sat in the observation elevator ascending, they saw a roller coaster pass right next to them. The wind whooshed by, accompanied by screams, adding to the thrill.

However, everyone’s expressions differed at the sight.

For instance, Zhou Weiwei, who is naturally afraid of heights, didn’t dare to stand by the window to enjoy the view; she only stood inside. Hearing the screams and wind, her face turned quite pale.

The senior didn’t seem like someone who enjoyed thrill rides either, but she was more composed than Zhou Weiwei. She simply frowned at the noise, showing little expression.

Shang Feifei didn’t care much either but wasn’t overly excited. While shooting films, she often hung in the air on wires for hours, so she has no fear of heights. Of course, roller coasters involve not only height but also speed, weightlessness, and dizzy spins. She wasn’t looking forward to it nor dreading it, standing quietly to the side.

But Xia Siyu wasn’t afraid at all. Especially after arguing with Bo Yan, she desperately needed a thrilling activity to vent her overflowing anger.

This time, the production team didn’t empty the audience. They just reduced the number of entrants, trying to create the feeling of doing the show alongside ordinary visitors. Xia Siyu wasn’t worried at all. She had previously confronted haters live and even been in knife-wielding scenarios. Now she could openly play with passersby without worrying about being secretly photographed, feeling particularly pleased.

As expected, Xia Siyu and her group’s arrival caused a stir in the entire queue area. The crew finally showed some decency by giving them fast-track access.

Separated by a few rows of railings, the onlookers were eager to jump the barriers upon seeing the celebrities.

Among the group, Shang Feifei remained composed, smiling and greeting the other side. Zhou Weiwei also appeared gentle, looking very approachable. Plus, she seemed a bit worried about the roller coaster afterward, her face a bit pale. The senior was well-known nationally but not as popular as them, and due to her age, she wasn’t very lively.

But Xia Siyu was different. They weren’t the only ones using the fast track, as real tourists were queued ahead. Some recognized the celebrities, and Xia Siyu chatted with them, albeit with a stern face, "Is this ride thrilling? If not, I don’t want to bother."

Those people conversed with her too, probably excited to meet a celebrity for the first time.

Finally, they reached the platform, and the crew explained, "This time, you four are a team. Only two need to go up, make facial expressions as per hints during the ride, and you’ll pass. Once you pass, you’ll earn a gemstone."

Oh, finally not a PK competition. Makes sense since it’s still a romance variety show, no need to compete all the time.

Moreover, in love, men and women can’t always be glued together all the time. Distance produces beauty, and even after marriage, there’s always personal space. A little separation does good.

Zhou Weiwei came intending to take a risk. This romance variety was initially a hit, but it’s now this year’s hottest show. The participating celebrities are highly discussed, including herself, although she gained many haters for her poor performance in earlier episodes. Yet, her popularity rose.

But the roller coaster is truly unfriendly to someone with acrophobia like her. She swallowed hard, didn’t move, and just looked at those around her.

Xia Siyu didn’t hesitate, stepping forward first and twisting her wrists: "If it’s not fun, I’m filing a complaint."

With her stepping up, who else would join? Zhou Weiwei looked at the senior, who then looked at Shang Feifei. Shang Feifei had no choice but to smile, "If you two don’t want to go, I’ll do it this time."

Agreeing to the challenge instantly relieved both Zhou Weiwei and the senior.

Xia Siyu and Shang Feifei sat in a car, surrounded by other ordinary people. Seeing the two actresses board, the queued crowd found it quite intriguing. Xia Siyu and the others didn’t seem any different from other people: fastened safety belts, took out their phones from pockets, even removed necklaces. The only difference was wearing a helmet with a GO-PRO.

With the GO-PRO mounted, it was clear they were recording their expressions throughout the ride. The team hoped for uncontrolled expressions for entertaining effects.

The senior and Zhou Weiwei played along, cheering hypocritically below. Xia Siyu didn’t respond, but when she turned, she saw Shang Feifei. They glanced at each other then quickly looked away; clearly, they weren’t friends, just sitting together not out of friendship.

Quickly, the train rumbled forward, designed externally like a flying dragon coiling the castle. The dragon twisted and turned, with multiple loops and dives resembling knights battling them wielding swords.

As everyone knows, roller coasters start by slowly ascending, only to plummet at the top. As it ascended slowly, mixed feelings of worry and excitement emerged. Soon they reached the top, the front turning downward. At this moment, Xia Siyu and Shang Feifei heard through their earphones from the directors: "Please start singing ’Two Tigers’ and finish a complete round to succeed."

As soon as "Two Tigers" was mentioned, the train dove down, the enormous impact and howling wind, along with the front and back screams, combined into one. Shang Feifei remained calm but as they plunged and opened her mouth, the wind rushed in, let alone singing, speaking a full sentence was impossible. Though calm, she had to close her eyes, grip the safety bar, and ride the downward rush.

However, Xia Siyu didn’t scream or close her eyes. Even as the ride flipped her up and down, she sang "Two Tigers." "Two Tigers" is the only song she sings in tune, but that’s on the ground. On the roller coaster, her tune bobbed everywhere.

Yet she hummed composedly, unfazed by how the wind contorted her face.

Except for being out of tune.

This roller coaster lasted five minutes, returning to the starting point. Shang Feifei was fine but looked a bit pale. Xia Siyu appeared calm, wearing a "that’s it?" expression. She even said, "If all the challenges are like this, it’s too dull."

Nevertheless, she finished the song, even if not in tune.

Successfully obtained the gemstone and moved on to the next challenge.
