The Betrayed Heiress's Second Comeback-Chapter 62: Ch : An Outing
Damian’s pov
Jenna looked overly excited when she showed me the photo of the guy she had found. She looked both proud and flushed as she looked at the phone screen.
It made me curious to know just how handsome that kid in the picture was to make Jenna act like this.
I shifted in my seat, leaning closer to catch every detail on the screen.
’Hmm, let me have a look...’
The first thing I noticed about this ’Vivi’ was that he was young...extremely young. He barely looked legal. And the second was the fact that he was more beautiful than he was handsome.
He had a clean face and soft features that gave him a youthful and a little...softer appearance.
I even had to admit that he had a nice-looking face. But my jealousy clouded my judgement of the situation.
’Aren’t I better looking than this kid?...No wait, I cannot step into the acting industry. My hands are full of things I need to do anyway...’
My heart and mind felt like they were at war and a frown covered my face. Before I could say anything I would come to regret, I offered Jenna a date disguised as an outing.
I half-smiled to cover the tension, though my insides were scrambling for control.
She either did not notice or did not have a problem with our date because she quickly agreed to go out with me.
As she went back to her room, I could not help but clench my hand to keep myself in check.
My knuckles turned white pressing against the table.
"Do not follow after Jenna. No matter what you do, you cannot follow her to her room. She needs some privacy..."
’Privacy? What privacy? Haven’t we already seen her in her most vulnerable situation already? Surely, a little stalking won’t hurt—’
The thought flared bright and ugly, and I slammed my head against the desk to knock it away.
I immediately slammed my head into my desk to clear out these thoughts and when that did not help, I decided to call Jason to get a report of what happened outside.
I currently needed someone to vent my anger and frustration toward and unfortunately, Jason would have to be the one who handles my outlet.

Jenna’s pov
In the end, the outing turned out to be dinner at one of the best restaurants in the world. It was well-known for how hard it was to get a reservation here.
Still, the fact that Damian had managed to get a reservation at such short notice spoke a lot about his influence. I couldn’t help but feel a little thrill.
As soon as we reached the restaurant, the owner came out to greet us personally.
"Welcome to our establishment, esteemed guests. We have prepared your usual table, Mr Black. Would you like us to show you the way?"
The owner asked but Damian paused. He gave the owner a brief glance before he looked outside.
I was sure that there were people following us to try and take a photo of us. As such, a semi-public setting might be a better choice. So I decided to take a risk here and speak up.
"Can we sit by a window? I would like to see the outside view while we are eating."
I told Damian with an almost whiny voice, but it was the owner who paled and gave me a look.
"M-Miss, surely a private seat would be better. Besides, the room Mr Damian usually uses—"
"No, a window seat will be fine. If Jenna wants to see the view outside, then I want that as well."
Damian was on the same wavelength as me and the restaurant owner had no choice but to bow down to us in that regard.
"Alright, I understand. Please follow me."
The restaurant owner led us to our table, but his eyes did not leave me the whole time. He was checking me out to see if I was worthy of his attention or not. I kept my posture straight, forced a faint polite smile. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Damian immediately pulled himself a little ahead of me to shield me from the owner’s eyes. His actions were a silent warning for the owner not to look at me. The owner got the message and quickly sat us down.
"Please order through the system and we will deliver it to you once we are done."
The owner told us as he left us alone. Our section was currently cut off from the rest of the restaurant with the help of some blinders and the only way someone could look in was through the window.
And that was what our stalkers were currently doing. The flashes of their lens were clear to notice in the window glass. I counted at least three...maybe more hidden behind bigger cameras.
"What would you like to order?"
Damian asked as he stood up from across me to sit beside me. He took my hand in his own to take a look at the online menu.
His thumb brushed over the screen lightly, but the warmth of his hand was unmistakable.
Outside our window, the snaps of cameras went off and I took some time to order. I pretended to lean more into Damian’s arms, showing off to the reporters just how close we were.
But pretending was so much tougher than I expected. Damian’s touch was making me feel weird and I kept wanting to lean in more toward him and pull back at the same time.
My fingers tightened around the glass of water, knuckles white, trying to steady myself against my own feelings.
"Are you alright? Is something the matter?"
Damian’s voice was filled with concern as he asked me this. He was leaning over my shoulder when he asked me as well.
And in all honesty, I should feel touched and tell him that I was fine.
But instead...my body was betraying me and I felt myself twitching in places I should not be. A sharp heat spread through me, sudden and dangerous, warning me how much I still desired him.
The feeling of him being this close brought back memories that I had buried within my mind and vowed not to recall...ever.
My breathing caught. I had to fight down the shock before I lost my calm.
’I need to get out of here before I have an accident. I should tell Damian I need to head to the bathroom....’
My feet acted before my brain did and I pushed my chair back before I stood up.
"I-I need to head to the bathroom. Just give me a few minutes and I will be back."
I told Damian and he nodded before his eyes narrowed as he looked outside. He held his gaze steady on the street for a moment before he looked back at me.
I did not ask him what he was seeing as I hurried to the bathroom to take care of myself.
