The Betrayed Heiress's Second Comeback-Chapter 88: Ch : Bringing Iris out- Part 2
Jenna’s pov
"So, what do you want to do now? From the looks of it, Iris is in no position to help us out. Do you want us to leave her here?"
Damian asked with a detached voice. He did not seem interested in Iris, despite her provoking state. He was a far better person than I had given him credit for.
’Either that, or he has not been able to move on from someone else...’
The second thought bothered me a little, and my mood soured because of this. But I quickly decided to put it past me and instead, focus on the matter at hand.
"We cannot leave Iris here. Not only will she be used, but we will also lose a lot of leverage against our opponents."
My mouth felt a little sour when I said this. And it was mainly because of how Iris was leaning against Damian with no intention of letting him go. She was looking at him for further instructions.
And Damian looked uncomfortable as well, but he was letting Iris be because we needed her at the moment.
"Anyway, we need her to regain her senses first before we can do anything else. I want her to answer some questions for me..."
The more I spoke, the worse I felt about my situation. Damian noticed and decided to finally push Iris away. I could not tell whether it was because he cared about me or because he was getting annoyed with a clingy girl.
Or maybe it was a mixture of both...?
"I understand. I will have her transferred to a public hospital under my watch. That way, we will be able to control her while also causing trouble for our opponent."
Damian told me, and I agreed with him. We both left the XX-Hotel soon after with our new bundle.
Iris sat in the front seat, her vacant eyes not looking at anything. There was no surveillance around the area, and Damian had specifically asked some people to clear out the way for Iris’s arrival.
When we dropped her off, there was no one around. And once we were far enough, we made sure to make the police call.
Due to Iris’s popularity, the police were on the case within minutes and had her into custody. Damian’s influence made sure she was treated well and securely.
By afternoon, there were so many articles published online about this that it was hard to keep track of. But most of them were questioning Rose and her agency for allowing this to happen and demanding compensation on Iris’s behalf.
With a little more leaks about Harvour industry’s corruption, the hard-earned reputation Rose was enjoying came crashing down.
"Well, I am sure Rose would be enjoying my gift a lot by now. I am sure she must be screaming in anger and annoyance...and maybe breaking a few things as well."
Rose had her violent tendencies that were hard to hide. I used to help her calm down when she got too agitated.
But now I wish I could see her expression as it twisted into one of anger and annoyance.
’Ah, maybe I can connect to the security feed on the company computer. It’s not like they would have bothered to change the security locks. I doubt Rose even knows what that is...’
It was an invasion of privacy and likely a crime if I was caught.
But only if I was caught...

Rose’s pov
"What the hell-! Why is Iris alive? I specifically asked that man to end her life..."
I complained as I threw the cup in my hand hard at the wall. The impact left an immediate stain on the wall because of the coffee splatter.
But I did not care about it and simply raged even harder.
My breathing was shallow and laboured as I tried to get my annoyance under control. But it was of no use, since I was not able to think straight.
Once I got things under control, I immediately picked up my phone and decided to make a call.
Ring
Ring
’Is that bastard now going to pick up the call?’
I was getting agitated now, and the longer my call went unpicked, the more my anger started to get the better of me.
Finally, someone picked up the phone on the other side and replied to me with a cheerful voice.
"What can I do for you, my dear lady? It is rare for you to call me, so I cannot believe you decided to call me twice in one week-"
"Cut the crap. Why is Iris out and about? I paid you to take care of her."
I complained, and the person on the other side of the phone just chuckled.
"You are right. You did pay me to take care of her, and I did. However, you did not tell me that I will have to go against Damian Black. You made me risk my life without telling me the full details."
That stupid idiot was at it again. He was making my life difficult for me.
"Nero-"
"Rose, listen here. I like working with you because you pay well and your jobs are hassle free. But the second they start going into dangerous territory, I am going to pull back. I am not going to risk my life anymore for you. But if it’s for your mother, then it’s a different story-"
"Go die, you freak."
I cut the call before I could hear anymore.
I did not want to know what kind of fixation Nero had over my mother or if he was joking around to get under my skin.
"Ugh, things are going to become a mess. I need to take Iris out before she regains her mind and makes a mess of things. Now, how should I go about it? Ah, surely that will work."
I had an idea, and I made another call. This time, it was for a far more important matter.
