The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 737 - 778: Sending a Few Beautiful Women to Sixth Master
Sienna Johnson took Noah’s words to heart, but she knew they didn’t apply to her and Adrian Desmond. For her, dignity was far more important than love. She could never learn to demean herself and compromise just to keep a man, as some women did.
If Adrian Desmond felt that he had her and regretted it, Sienna Johnson was willing to let go and allow Adrian Desmond and Melanie Carpenter to be together.
"Sienna Johnson, don’t forget whose woman you are!"
"Sixth Master has forgotten whose man he is, so why should I remember whose woman I am?"
Sienna Johnson forcefully pulled out her phone’s SIM card. The sole of Adrian Desmond’s shoe had still scraped the delicate skin on her hand, but she paid it no mind. She carefully put the SIM card away and turned to leave.
"Sienna Johnson, don’t forget you are now my wife! Isn’t monogamy the law in Orienta? We married in Orienta, so if you dare to mess around with other men behind my back, I will make sure that man goes to jail!" Adrian Desmond threatened.
Sienna Johnson let out a cold laugh, not even looking at him, and turned to walk away.
Adrian Desmond instinctively chased her for a few steps before realizing what he had just done. He abruptly stopped, watching Sienna Johnson’s resolute figure, his heart breaking into pieces.
This woman had never loved him. Just because he hadn’t complied with her wishes, hadn’t listened to her, she was planning to dump him.
"Sixth Brother, you’ve spoiled her too much, letting her be so unrestrained. Are all Orientan women so poorly mannered? She can’t even be a proper wife," Melanie Carpenter said with sarcasm.
Adrian Desmond didn’t hear a single word. He didn’t want to be in a cold war with Sienna Johnson. Just a moment ago, he had almost given in and apologized to her, begging for her forgiveness.
But, he wasn’t wrong this time.
He indulged her in trivial matters, but how could he sever ties with his Uncle? That was his family.
If he severed ties with his Uncle’s family just because Sienna Johnson wasn’t happy, what kind of person would he, Adrian Desmond, become? A coward afraid of his wife?
"Sixth Brother, have you softened up again?"
Adrian Desmond said nothing and walked in the opposite direction of Sienna Johnson.
"Sixth Brother!"
Melanie Carpenter chased after him for a few steps, but Adrian Desmond was walking too fast, so she was left behind.
"Ugh, so infuriating!"
A breeze carried the fragrance of lotus flowers, and Melanie Carpenter realized she was standing by a lake. The once mirror-like water was now filled with blooming lotuses.
The lotuses were beautiful, just like that woman.
Had this lotus pond not been planted by Adrian Desmond for Sienna Johnson, Melanie Carpenter might have had the heart to appreciate it. But knowing that such a cold man was capable of such a romantic gesture, and that the woman it was for wasn’t her, was unbearable for Melanie Carpenter.
"This ugly, repulsive lotus pond!" She raised her foot and kicked a stone into the lake.
Adrian Desmond was efficient and quickly found Ernest Turner’s father for him.
Sienna Johnson never expected that Ernest Turner’s father would turn out to be a drug lord, one of the infamous drug lords in the Golden Triangle.
Knowing Ernest Turner’s father’s identity, Sienna Johnson could never allow her daughter to play with Ernest Turner.
"I knew my boy had big fortune and great luck; I never thought he’d be saved by such a pretty girl," a voice boomed.
"..."
"Hey, where’s the pretty girl? Why isn’t she here?"
Jeffrey Turner was a rough man. If you put them side by side, you’d never imagine they were father and son. Jeffrey Turner was burly, like a bear of a man.
The first thing one noticed about Jeffrey Turner was a five-centimeter-long scar extending from the peak of his right eyebrow to his temple. The scar tissue, lighter in color, formed a stark contrast with his dark skin. He had deep-set eyes, thick, expressive eyebrows, an aquiline nose, and full, well-defined lips. Combined with his piercing gaze, he was clearly not a man to be underestimated.
"No wonder Curly is so pretty; with the two of you as parents, it’s not surprising at all. Unlike me, I wouldn’t dare have a daughter. If she looked like me, she’d have trouble finding a husband," Jeffrey Turner chuckled.
Ernest Turner was slightly disappointed not to see Curly.
"You’re too kind, Mr. Turner. Having such a good son like Ernest Turner is not something everyone is blessed with," Sienna Johnson said politely.
"Mrs. Desmond, if you like him, why not have our son as your own?" Jeffrey Turner proposed.
Sienna Johnson dared not accept this. It wasn’t just a son he was offering, but a future son-in-law.
"A gentleman does not covet what belongs to others. Ernest Turner is so talented and lovable, I couldn’t possibly take him away from you, Mr. Turner," she said diplomatically.
"Why not? If you want him, he’s yours!" Jeffrey Turner laughed heartily, his voice booming with generosity.
Adrian Desmond was in a bad mood lately and had no patience for pleasantries. He cut Jeffrey Turner off, saying, "Since he is your son, you should take him. It’s almost lunchtime, so I won’t keep you any longer."
This clearly meant he wasn’t inviting them to stay for lunch.
What a stingy family! Jeffrey Turner thought.
Jeffrey Turner, however, was thick-skinned. "Ah, it is noon indeed," he said. "You saved my son, so how about I treat you to lunch as a token of my gratitude?"
"No need!" Adrian Desmond replied coldly.
"Mr. Desmond, you seem quite irritable," Jeffrey Turner observed. "Is Mrs. Desmond pregnant and leaving you... unfulfilled? Coincidentally, I recently acquired some beauties. I can send a few your way to keep you company."
Adrian Desmond struggled to contain his exasperation. His relationship with Sienna Johnson was already at rock bottom. If he accepted these women now, would there be any place left for him in her heart at all?
He had initially put in a great deal of effort to win Sienna Johnson back. Although they quarreled, he never thought of divorce.
He was smitten with Sienna Johnson; he adored her. Despite her multitude of flaws, and though she sometimes infuriated him to the point he wanted to kill her... it would be in bed, of course!
Adrian Desmond saw this as an opportunity to make a gesture towards Sienna Johnson. "My wife is Orientan," he declared self-righteously. "Orienta practices monogamy. Since I’ve married my wife, I cannot be involved with other women. That would be adultery, and it’s illegal."
After speaking, he stole a glance at Sienna Johnson, but her expression remained cold and indifferent, betraying no emotion.
Jeffrey Turner looked at Sienna Johnson and said, "Mrs. Desmond, that’s not the right way to think about it. Although you’re Orientan, you married a man from Abyanabad. You should adapt to local customs. How can you expect your husband to have only you?"
"Moreover, you’re pregnant now and can’t serve your husband."
Sienna Johnson couldn’t be bothered to argue with these Amwan men, let alone discuss monogamy. So she said perfunctorily, "If Sixth Master wants the beauties you’re offering, Mr. Turner, he can keep them."
"The Desmond Family is certainly wealthy enough to support a few more women."
Hearing Sienna Johnson’s apparent agreement, Jeffrey Turner, without even consulting Adrian Desmond, immediately had his subordinates bring the women over.
Adrian Desmond’s face darkened to the point that it seemed water could be wrung from it.
