The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 762 - 803: Betrayal
"Tell Sixth Master, I’m heading back immediately!"
"Hurry up."
"Okay."
Walter Klein packed away his tangled emotions, took a deep breath, and shoved all those inappropriate thoughts to a corner.
He belonged to Night Owl, and if he didn’t follow their orders, he knew he’d meet a miserable end.
Just as Night Owl said, death isn’t terrifying; what’s terrifying is living a life worse than death.
The first rule for anyone coming out of Death Island is to never show any mercy to anyone.
If others don’t die, then you will!
Having sorted out the consequences, Walter no longer hesitated.
...
By the time Walter returned to Desmond Manor, half an hour had already passed, and Adolph Desmond had the servants waiting at the door. As soon as Walter arrived, they led him in.
"Walter Klein, why are you so slow? Sixth Master is about to kill someone in anger."
"Where is Sixth Master?"
"Come with me, I’ll take you to him."
Walter was startled by Adrian Desmond’s appearance when he saw him.
Adrian sat there, his expression grim, his eyes full of storms, and the most shocking was the blood-soaked clothing on his chest.
During the gunshot surgery, Adrian’s blood was almost entirely replaced.
"Sixth Master, why are you out of the hospital? Didn’t the doctor say your body still needs recovery and you shouldn’t be discharged?"
Adrian cut him off, directly asking, "Where is Sienna Johnson?"
Walter glanced at everyone present, and when Adolph saw him looking, he quickly lowered his head to avoid suspicion, fearing Adrian would think they were colluding to deceive him.
Even if he had 15 guts, Adolph wouldn’t dare take liberties and deceive Adrian.
"Walter, where is Sienna Johnson?"
Walter realized he couldn’t hide anymore and replied, "Madam is with Xavier Young."
Adrian never expected Melanie Carpenter’s words were true. He always thought his woman and child were comfortably at the Desmond house, so that once he recovered, he’d see them.
But upon returning, neither his woman nor child was there.
His woman was actually with the rival, how could Adrian accept this?
"Walter, well done, very well done, you dare deceive me..."
Adrian grabbed an ashtray from the table and hurled it at Walter, who made no attempt to dodge, letting it hit his chest.
"Get out, don’t let me see you again!"
Adrian stood up, yelled at Walter, and then collapsed.
"Brother..." Paige Desmond returned from shopping to see Adrian bleeding and lying on the ground.
The bags in her hand fell to the floor, "Brother..." Paige ran over, squatting down to look at him, and started crying.
"Miss, quickly get him to the hospital." Adolph was in panic mode, knowing only to cry, while Paige remained relatively composed.
"Yes, the hospital, he needs to go to the hospital..."
As the group hurriedly got Adrian to the hospital, he was already in a coma.
His heart was bleeding, his abdominal cavity full of blood; the doctor issued a critical condition notice, asking Paige to sign the surgery risk document, which she refused.
"No, I won’t sign!"
Crying, Paige refused, as if signing meant she would lose her brother forever.
In the end, Adolph took the lead and signed the risk document.
Paige continued to cry incessantly while Adolph’s comforting had no effect.
"Uncle Desmond, why did it come to this? How could it turn out this way?..."
"Sigh..." Adolph sighed, unsure of what to say.
He just knew Sienna Johnson was a tough woman; anyone who crossed her wouldn’t die but would likely lose half of their life.
"... My brother finally got my sister-in-law back, and they were doing well together; how did things come to this?
That Xavier Young, my sister-in-law is pregnant with my brother’s child, yet he dared to steal her?"
Paige blamed all of Adrian’s calamities on Xavier Young.
Melanie Carpenter also came upon hearing the commotion, crying harder than Paige outside the operating room while watching Adrian undergo surgery.
Paige felt nauseated hearing Melanie cry and stopped, keeping an icy face.
Paige had no good feelings towards Melanie; if not for Elliot Carpenter, Adrian wouldn’t have been shot.
"Paige, is Sixth Brother okay?"
"..."
"It’s all Sienna Johnson’s fault; if not for her, Sixth Brother wouldn’t be in this state."
Paige hadn’t intended to respond to Melanie, but couldn’t take listening anymore.
"Melanie Carpenter, have you no shame? My brother being like this is entirely because of your family?"
Melanie retorted, "How is it our fault? Sixth Brother was fine, about to be discharged, but upon hearing about Sienna Johnson and Xavier Young, those scoundrel lovers, that’s why he’s like that.
If you want to blame someone, blame Sienna Johnson!"
"..."
"Paige, I didn’t expect you to be so obtuse."
"Scoundrel lovers, who are you calling scoundrel lovers!"
Paige was shaking out of fury at Melanie, someone Adrian had raised as a noble lady since childhood. She hadn’t had many confrontations like this in her life.
This was the first time someone had angered her to this extent.
"Melanie Carpenter, you and your father always said my brother owed you,
now he’s taken a bullet to save your father, nearly losing his life, my sister-in-law traded herself to free your dad, isn’t this debt repaid?"
"..."
"You and your father want to deal in drugs and court death, leave my brother out of it, get lost, don’t show up before us again!" Paige shouted at Melanie.
Melanie gave a fierce glare at the irate Paige, boldly proclaiming, "Sixth Brother and my father have a deep bond; he’d do anything for my father.
If you want us out of Desmond Manor, why not ask Sixth Brother?"
"Melanie Carpenter!"
Adolph held back the now indignant Paige, advising, "Miss, calm down. Sixth Master is still undergoing surgery, rest assured, when he wakes up, everything will be decided."
Adrian took a bullet for Elliot Carpenter, while Sienna Johnson traded herself for Elliot Carpenter; once Adrian wakes, a decision will naturally be made.
"Melanie Carpenter, why are you so arrogant?"
"Paige, keep out of my affairs with Sixth Brother."
These cousin sisters completely tore off masks, abandoning all pretenses.
"Melanie Carpenter, what’s not yours can’t be snatched! Dream on if you want to be my sister-in-law!"
"All I know is, if you want something, go fight for it; otherwise, whether it’s people or things, they’ll never belong to you."
