The Billionaire CEO Wants to Marry Me Every Day-Chapter 542: Abandoned
Stella Monroe was very curious about what Summer Monroe’s expression would be right now.
The reason Henry Stanton was so protective of Summer now was entirely because she was his only child left. But when Henry believed he would have a son, Summer’s existence wasn’t that significant.
If she could use Old Madam Stanton to create a rift between Summer and Damian Knight, without Damian Knight, whom Henry saw as a golden son-in-law, would Henry still value Summer so much?
The answer was obvious: no.
By then, whatever she planned to do to Summer, Henry would turn a blind eye, as long as she did it cleanly. Avenging Clarissa would just be a matter of time!
Stella was curious and excited to see Summer’s reaction. However, when she glanced over Henry’s shoulder, all she saw was Summer’s gentle and soft smile.
That smile was as harmonious as a spring breeze, showing no hint of anger or panic, as if she was sincerely blessing her.
Sincerely blessing her?
To a stepmother who caused her own mother’s death?
Impossible!
Could it be that Summer had really seen through something?
This was absolutely impossible!
Stella didn’t expect that instead of being satisfied by reading Summer’s expression, she started to feel chills down her back.
She dared not look at Summer again and hastily looked away, gently pushing Henry’s hand as she reminded, "Henry, we’re at the hospital, let’s talk about this at home."
Henry, as if waking from a dream, let go of Stella and said excitedly, "Right, right, let’s go home and share this good news with Mom. She’ll definitely be delighted!"
As he spoke, he exaggeratedly supported Stella, afraid she might bump or fall.
After all, Stella was carrying his son, and his son couldn’t be harmed in any way.
The two walked out of the hospital arm in arm.
Whether intentional or not, Stella deliberately quickened her pace, leaving Summer far behind.
As soon as she got into the car, Stella instructed the driver, "Drive faster, so I can suffer a little less."
Hearing this, Henry urged, "What are you waiting for? Drive quickly!"
The driver remembered that Summer hadn’t boarded the car yet and was about to remind them when Henry ordered, "Drive! Can’t you see Madam is uncomfortable in the car?"
Seeing this, the driver swallowed his words. At this critical moment, if he delayed even for a second, Henry might just fire him.
By the time Summer made her way through the crowd to the roadside, all she saw was the speeding car driving away.
Henry had simply left her behind.
It seemed that with a son, Henry really didn’t consider her important anymore.
This was good too. With Henry’s attention elsewhere, she’d have fewer troubles.
But, she was also human. Seeing herself left behind, there was some unspeakable irritation and a hint of bitterness buried deep in her heart.
Summer massaged her temples and mockingly thought of herself as too fragile inside.
"Hoo..." She exhaled and was just about to hail a taxi when a car marked with the Ross Family emblem stopped in front of her.
Summer looked up and saw Isaac Ross getting out of the car and walking towards her.
"Boss."
Upon seeing Isaac, Summer apologized, "I’m sorry, I fear I’ve implicated your family’s hospital this time."
Isaac waved it off nonchalantly and said, "I’ve figured everything out. When we select doctors for our hospital, character is the most important factor. There is no way what Stella described would have happened. This was all Stella’s self-directed drama and would have occurred whether you were involved or not. Besides, the hospital’s location is not great, and coupled with our shortage of good doctors in other hospitals, we were planning to shut it down within this year anyway. Don’t feel guilty."
"Thank you, for even comforting me in return."
"This isn’t comfort; it’s fact," Isaac said, pointing in a direction. "If you really feel sorry, could you do me a favor? Or rather, do a favor for Damian."
